Pieces of Life: The Mystery of River Song Edition

If you're not wanting to know about what's happening when Matt Smith slips his feet into David Tennant's old pair of chucks next year please disregard this post.

I was up late last night speaking to World's Dresser on Who theories. We got on a discussion about River Song and I have some interesting info about her after the jump!

Click it if you want to be spoiled.

As many of you know I've been twittering ALOT of Who coverage lately. I got a SLEW of e-mail after my discussion last night and the main topic of the e-mails was River Song, a mystery if ever there was one.

River's original debut in Silence of the Library left alot of us wondering who is this brave woman with a sonic screwdriver all her own!? Speculation has rounded the Internet with tales of River possibly being a Time Lady (honestly this isn't too far fetched considering not one but two Time Lords survived the Time War so why not another?) or even the Doctor's own wife (she does after all know his name). All rumors about her are always a welcome way to pass the day.

The moral of my post today is River Song will return and finally the mystery of who (pun intended) she is and what relationship she has with our new 11th will be solved (remember now she knows our 10th but he hasn't yet met her so isn't sure really who she might be or how they know each other! Our 10th traveled so far back in time that River had already met and traveled with the 11th. Her past is in fact our 10th Doctor's future). The Sun UK has posted a few images up of production and low and behold a photo of the mysterious River Song does so appear (Click to start the pop up, 7th photo and 8th).

I won't say more as my mouth is possibly foaming with gossip. By the way looks like Karen has been shopping in David's closet, nice chucks dear.

Feel free to discuss or e-mail.

Follow me on Twitter for other great Who insanity...it's almost always about cosmetics but I lighten it up a bit with Who here and there ;)

Pieces of Life: Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

If you follow my tweets it's likely you already read the news but fact is a most beloved Doctor regenerates at the hands of the Master very soon!

Sob.

I've kinda grown to think of David as the Doctor over the last few years. No one's quite touched me as much since Tom Baker and I must say it saddens me to see him go. It's even worst that the bloody Master is behind it all. I do understand why he has to leave but I don't always have to like it especially since I'm growing a little scared of Matt Smith lately (especially their wardrobe choice for him).

Let's hope for the best.

Love this!

"Sir are you English?" "Sir are you talking Scottish now?"

By all means discuss all things Doctor Who, I'm a listening.

Pieces of Life: Geeks on Late Night TV Edition

I'm a big fan girl when it comes to Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht, for the Muse they are the true dynamic duo. Watching them together brings back great memories of The Screen Savers which in turn makes me think of the great ways that I plan on herding up a bunch of geeks and torching the G4 building one day!

Anyway.

The moral of today's story is you can re-live your geeky days of youth and see Kevin and Alex outside of Revision3 broadcasting today!

Jump ahead for the deets.

So check it. Kevin and Alex are going mainstream tonight and are making a guest starring appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. If you're a follower you prob already caught the eppy of Jimmy being the first "official" guest star on a Diggnation eppy who'd think you'd see Kevin, Alex, and of all people, Jimmy Fallon together!? But tis true....see it below.

I think Jimmy is a really funny guy but I haven't yet seen his show as the word is out it's a nap but of course I got my Tivo all set for a record to see Kevin and Alex on the show. Could be the fan girl speaking but I think Kevin and Alex are amazingly funny so I'm looking forward to seeing their antics on late night TV.

The moral of the story is if you're a fan you'll want to catch the guys on Jimmy Fallon tonight. Deets for the time are below!

I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Pieces of Life: The Sims Edition

So OMFGBBQWTF! The fact that EA Games continues to bundle it's games with SecuROM totally rips into the Muse but if that wasn't enough guess what else they are doing now!?

Check it.

Not only do they bundle games with SecuROM but now they pushed the release date for The Sims 3 from February to freaking June! I may be dead by then dude!

I dunno what's worst....the delayed release or the bloody SecuROM!

Give me a shoulder I need to cry.

Hold me.

Apologies, back to our regularly scheduled cosmetic musings....

Pieces of Life: The Monday Morning Edition

Morning guys!

Happy Monday! Oh my god tis like the Monday from hell! Was so hard dragging my butt out of bed this morning after having so many days off. I swear the last few days have been so completely relaxing! I'm always running around doing this, that, and the other thing and never have enough free time to just sit down and veg! The last few days I did just that. Total vegetable. It was so lovely. I caught up on a few books I've been meaning to read, played stupid amounts of WoW, watched a slew of geeky flicks with my mate Martin (we generally have the same retarded taste in sci-fi films one of which was Capricorn One circa before James Brolin became Barbra Streisand's b*tch...what? I love Barbra but we all know she has James on lock down!), and just really enjoyed doing absolutely nothing!

Jump ahead to read more about my Monday, the weekend, and what's ahead at Musings!

Oh and I was really productive and stuff this weekend too so I did do other stuff that wasn't in the realms of playing dead and acting like a veggie! Read on....

For the longest time my main ring tone was the Time Warp so I decided to change it this weekend. What? I'm still in Halloween mode I guess...sue me!

Check it and tell me whatcha think ;)

I also switched up the slider to play the sound of the Tardis launching! Loves it!

See? Told ya I was productive!

I have a slew of posts for you today including my Year End Favorites list, my New Year's Resolution post, a giveaway or two, and a few other tricks up my sleeves so stay tuned! Oh which reminds me I know the past few days you haven't seen many reviews but don't worry those are coming along too and we'll be back to cosmetic nirvana shortly!

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend and you're back on the "back to work" bandwagon! After a few diet cherry pepsis, some tea, and a bit of coffee the Muse promises you'll be all awake and alert enough to deal with Monday morning!

Feel free to spread the cheer about your weekend and what you did, what you hauled, and any trouble you got into! My comment box is open and my eyes are listening!

xoxo <--------whoa how gossip girl of me!

The Regeneration of a Most Beloved Doctor

I find it funny that my inbox has over 100 e-mails in it that are labeled "Doctor Who" in subject. I also got a few comments already as well in regards...to yes you guessed it...the new Doctor.

With all these outcries to the Muse I thought that indeed the good Doctor deserved his very own post because honestly, the regeneration of our beloved 10th deserves that at the very least right?

I fear that I haven't felt this badly about a regeneration since my fond favorite fourth Doctor, the great Tom Baker, regenerated into Peter Davidson. For a long time I resented Peter for taking away my girlhood crush, Tom Baker but I slowly came to love him.

So the Muse has a basic statement to release on the casting of the 11th Doctor.

Don't Panic.

Yes, that's it. Don't Panic. Be a good hitchhiker and just don't panic. If you're a Who fan you've felt this way for every regeneration of every favorite Who in the last 30 years or more. We've all seen our favorites come and go. We've all mourned our favorites. I remember mourning Tom Baker, Peter Davidson, I even felt some remorse for the late, great William Hartnell. Believe it or not I became mighty attached to Christopher Eccleston as well and I thought it was god awful they were replacing him with David Tennant. Weird right?

We have something to look forward to right? Our Doctor's personality will stay the same but with new traits and quirks. Yes, Matt Smith is virtually a no name but if you think about it David Tennant wasn't exactly HUGE in the way of stardom either was he? At the moment Matt Smith (kinda ironic his last name is Smith...as in John Smith...) probably isn't our top pick for the Doctor but he's young, he's fairly good looking, and who knows (who knows..pun intended) he may be the next best thing to David.

I think we should all remain calm and hope for the best. I have confidence that the writers will bring us a fantastic Doctor and although I mourn the loss of David I do embrace the idea of a brand new Doctor. I think David shows alot of class to pass the torch and not milk the "brand" that Doctor Who has become for all it's worth. I think he recognized the fact that things can get old really fast and he wanted to be remembered as a great Doctor rather than a washed up Doctor. So cheers to David for making a hard choice to disembark the Tardis and make room for a new Doctor.

Chin up Who fans! We'll be fine. We should be more worried over the fact that Catherine Zeta Jones might board the Tardis next season....now THAT worries me! You do know that she and the hub come as a package?

Wince!

There, there now. Group hug!

More Musings of Edward Cullen

It's getting to be that special time of the month soon kids! The 21st is around the corner and the Muse and many of her friends (even my newly converted sister) are very eager for the date to arrive! I told my sister she has to be on Team Jacob teehee the Muse be evil but there are just TOO many Team Edward players! Sorry the Muse wants the Edward all for herself! Get ye to the Team Jacob field!

Last Sunday morning my friend Jai, Kenningston, Jenn, Kira and myself hauled ass to Torrid, Hot Topic, and anywhere else in the Mall that had Twilight gear. We ended up snatching up several T-Shirts, patches, totes, and various other paraphernalia which we proceeded to take home and chop up over Sunday brunch to make several hoodies with. But of course the Muse is a Team Edward player so her hoodie is all ABOUT Edward!

I'm not going to show you how it came out just yet as I'm still working on it but be prepared for the unveiling soon! My best friend Jai is also a Team Edward player and his hoodie came out particularly brilliant with sequins and other glittery bits and bobs. Gotta love the dazzle and Edward right?

The moral of the story is that you don't have to get too particularly crazy and start making hoodies out of chopped up t-shirts when you can get some already made at Cafe Press! The Muse seen some seriously awesome stuff on the site and highly suggest skipping over for a lookiee and a purchase for the big night! Users got really creative with some of the gear available for sale and some items made me laugh! Gotta love the rabid fan girls right? I mean there are over 130,000 designs at Cafe Press....You. Gotta. Love. That.

CLICK to visit the Twilight Cafe Press!

Here's some that caught my eye in particular:

'Nuff Said!

Yup, yup the Muse's shopping list is already changed to reflect the ravishing of Edward! She'll save you the leftovers!

Yes, I wonder that on occasion...can't help myself the Cullen's have changed the way I view baseball!

Only in Edward's case!

The Muse is a car/motorcycle person and totally appreciates the cracky Volvo fun!

For those of you who just can't decide!

Love Edward as a little kawaii manga!

Awwww....sniff...so romantic!

The moral of this story is that the Muse is a sad, old fan girl! Hehe and loving it too! Cheers to my rabid fan girls and hope for the best as the Muse is slightly worried it won't live up to all the hype but at least we can relieve it in our imaginations!

Remember kids, all good things Twilight, Edward, and Cullen is Muse Approved!

Bourjois Paris Anticerne pour Petits Matins aka Bourjois Paris Light Diffusing Concealer Review

So it wasn't enough that I tortured you today with one really crummy concealer but here I am again with another rubbish concealer!

Meet Bourjois Paris Anticerne pour Petits Matins:

Better known to the Muse as Bourjois Paris Light Diffusing Concealer, much easier to pronounce that, yes?

I've had this a few months now but never got around to doing the review! Bad Muse, Bad! Depending on how you see it you'll be either really happy it's not available in the US or really sad. This is exclusive to the UK and possibly the Netherlands and a few other European countries, honestly I haven't checked all the site portals so I'm unsure but I got mine from England.

Now honestly as far as I'm concerned normally concealers that come in click style pens with brush applicators are a NEVER go wrong item! I've tried so many I've lost count but I do know I've always been plenty pleased with them however, with much dismay, I have to give a poor review to this one.

I generally love everything and anything Bourjois Paris puts out however they really did a poor job with this concealer. Although I wasn't expecting a miracle, I did expect that the concealer would at least cover my basic woes such as fine lines, dark shadows, and just make my eyes more awake and fresh. Sadly, this did nothing at all for anything in and around my eyes. I was secretly hopeful this would be a nice, thick, moisturizing, pigmented concealer that would replace my very expensive Dior Booster Pen however that's so NOT the case.

I'm unsure why the product fails so miserable. One main problem is of course is it seriously lacks any pigmentation. It glides on well enough and the formula, although not thick, is nicely cooling and moisturizing however the lack of pigmentation causes the main problem. In Bourjois' defense I will say that this isn't really supposed to act as a concealer but more of a highlighter for deflecting off of dark circles and creating the illusion of a better rested you but...well..it doesn't do that either. Honestly, it does a whole lot of nothing.

On top of not doing much in the ways of making the Muse appear rested and awake it also kinda lends a helping hand in making my already dry under eyes even more dry! Sigh! Rant! As you're smoothing on and patting into place it feels quite nice and moisturizing however after the better part of the day goes by your left with major creasing and a dryness that only the Sahara could surpass!

Although the click style pen is a super plus for the Muse as is the handy dandy brush applicator...if I'm honest...neither of those features do much to impress me after my rather long list of wrongs with the product!

I know I wrongfully expected a miracle but at the very least I did want something that at least worked. This one is on the Muse's do not buy list! I just couldn't love it.

The good news is Bourjois Paris has introduced a new concealer which looks promising! The Muse thinks you should hold out and try this new concealer and avoid the Bourjois Paris Light Diffusing Concealer! I'll try to get a review up of this one shortly!

Behold:

By the way since we are on the topic of jolly old England did you know that they announced the latest Doctor Who Christmas Special for this year! Lord knows, my Holiday isn't complete without knowing the Doctor will make an appearance for Christmas! The Muse enjoys all that wibbley wobbley timey wimey stuff! If there wasn't any Doctor at Christmas it would be like the Year without Santa Claus! GASP! Thank god David decided to take time off of Hamlet to grace us with his presence this Christmas! (Hint: The picture is a bit of a tip off for what to expect this coming season! You either already know what the episode will be about or what is coming thanks to the pic!)

Musings of Edward Cullen

WARNING: Non Cosmetic Musings ahead...

It seems like everywhere I turn lately Edward Cullen pops up. His "face" or the face Hollywood has given him is splashed all over the Internet and it's difficult getting away from so much publicity when I'm trying hard to isolate myself from Twilight at the moment.

Since I'm currently re-reading the Twilight Series I've avoided many places I KNOW Edward would pop up. Blogs, Live Journal, Forums I visit daily, youTube, Etc....

Believe you me getting away from big things like Twilight and Harry Potter is a difficult task to say the least especially considering I've been hopping around conventions the last few months where both the film and the books are splashed around a fair bit.

Among my geeker mates Bella, Edward, and Jacob are the topic of endless conversation so again I find it hard to avoid listening to spoilers. My friends are forbidden to discuss Breaking Dawn when I am anywhere around!

The good news is I've had Breaking Dawn since August 2nd and have not opened a single page nor will I until I successfully complete my re-read of Books 1 through 3. This same process occurred with Deathly Hallows by the way.

The greatest news is that I've successfully closeted myself so well that I've heard no spoilers at all about Breaking Dawn up until now...however....my curiosity got the better of me late last night.

I've been avoiding reading Stephenie Meyer's website as well for fear I'd come across some little tidbit that would ruin Breaking Dawn for me however a I mentioned above I became slightly curious and did wander on her site late, late last night/early this morning.

If you haven't already been on her site or you haven't visited the forums or you're re-reading like me and blanketing yourself from spoilers you may have missed something very important, very sad and very horrifying.

Stephenie's draft for Midnight Sun was leaked recently across the internet and it's discouraged her so much that she's put the title on the back burner indefinitely. I can't begin to tell you how sad I was hearing this.

I know how she must feel right now as I really get upset and emotional when I see people copying my content, reposting my images without proper credit, etc....My body of work is a simple blog that means so very much to me but can you imagine an entire novel that you've put your heart and soul into being stolen and handed out on the internet?

How terrible. My heart goes out to Stephenie right now as I can imagine how heartbroken she is over this.

Stephenie has generously supplied the first 274 pages of Midnight Sun for your reading pleasure. I urge you, if you're a fan, to read these pages from her site in a sign of respect for her creative body of work.

I read all 274 pages around 3:30 am this morning and I was devastated I'd never see an end to such a fascinating piece. Being inside Bella's head is a roller coaster ride that goes from one emo moment to the next. Being inside Edward's head is an entirely other ballgame (pun intended! Go Team Edward!).

Finally understanding some of Edward's struggle while he's around Bella is heart wrenching to say the least. Knowing how complex Edward's character is and finally putting that knowledge to text is extremely enlightening. Who would think teen lit could go so deep?

Being faced with Edward's maturity is an interesting experience. Although Edward is described in no uncertain terms as being mature it's always difficult to put the idea of his age into full effect when faced with mind images of his "crooked grin" and boyish good looks. However, in Midnight Sun you can finally come to understand Edward's true age and put aside his seventeen year old face and body and come face to face with his 90 plus year old mind and maturity. It's interesting to say the least especially if your mind's eye has misplaced Edward's age.

If you'd like to read Midnight Sun you can do so by clicking here. I do warn you if you're a big fan of the Twilight series you may want to avoid Midnight Sun as no end is in sight and it's difficult reading a draft that may never see it's completion especially when you become so attached to the characters of a novel.

I look forward to discussing this with you in my comment box if you happen to be a fan of Edward, Stephenie Meyer, and the Twilight Series.

However, I refuse to speak to you if you're a member of Team Jacob! The Muse no likey!

Hehe kidding!

Please no spoilers about Breaking Dawn, as keep in mind, the Muse hasn't yet completed her re-read session!

Thanks in advance!

Cheers and Happy Reading!

P.S. If Edward "dazzled" you in Twilight you'll feel the force of his glamour in Midnight Sun!

Here's to hoping this will someday see the light of a book shelf near you!

Benefit B Spot Winners!

Hey there, Hi there, Happy Monday!

How's your day going so far? Mine is complete stress! One of the seven fans in my gaming box went boom last night so I've been going NUTS trying to locate a new one! Anyone know where I can find a 92MM M35105-58 with ball bearings and frames? I figure it's worth a shot asking! The worst part is it's one of the three fans that are cooling the CPU and I'm NOT in the mood to reconfigure the box fans to blow onto the CPU so I'm aimlessly wandering gaming forums and IRC asking around for a swap! At this point I'll take anything new or used! My CPU is overclocked so it's either find a new fan or sit down and rip the fans out and rearrange them! Nooooooooooo!

On top of that my work load is triple today since it's Monday so I'm quite nuts! Plus I'm behind on comments and my email box is about to burst!

Can anything else go wrong today?

Grumpy Muse am I!

But hey some good news comes out of all this! The Winners to the Benefit B Spot contest!

Yay!

I got some interesting answers to the following question: where does the name and the "concept" Babel Fish originate from? Hint: Look to my profile and you'll notice a hint and a clue that may help you solve this little puzzle!

Watch the clip below for the correct answer:

The hint in my profile would be the fact that my location reads: The Restaurant at the End of the Universe which is the 2nd Book in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series.

So now you know that the babel fish I was referring to was from a series of brilliant books by the author Douglas Adams.

And the winners are.........

Asta
Abby
and Marta

Congrats guys!

Just send me over an email with your address and I'll send your prize over!

Thanks to everyone who participated and if you didn't win this round you always have next time to look forward too!

Alan Cumming: Simply Brilliant!

Warning:

Random babblings that have nothing to do with cosmetics ahead!

I'm a PBS geek (or maybe I'm just an Anglophile. I haven't decided yet!).

I know can you believe I admitted it out loud? I'm the little short, round girl that strolls down Madison Avenue toting a PBS tote bag like it's a Fendi.

And proud of myself by the very way!

For 200 years now, give or take a few years, Mystery! has had the wonderfully macabre Edward Gorey introduction. I heart Edward Gorey so I've always appreciated the fine animated introduction of Mystery!

However, recently things have been a brewing at PBS! Change isn't always my most favorite thing in the world and no I don't embrace it. You embrace it if you like it so much! I'll stick with the things I know thanks very much!

One such change that is unforgivable to the Muse would be the revamp, rename, and re-host of my very favorite program on PBS, Masterpiece Theater.

Masterpiece Theater has undergone not only a name change but also a host change and all this other crap I'm not loving.

Gillian Anderson is suddenly the host of Masterpiece Theater...oh sorry...it's called Masterpiece Classic now. Granted, the content is still very much the same but I can do without Gillian Anderson. Sheesh, couldn't we find a Brit to do the introduction? Hells, I'd have settled for Madonna with a fake British accent instead of Agent Scully!

Look at her hair! It clashes with the bloody back drop! Please can it be real British host time now? The Muse simply demands it!

Sadly, even though I donate gobs of spare cash to PBS they refused to listen to my demands for a new host and I'm somehow stuck now fast forwarding through the bad introduction of Masterpiece each week and hiding my checkbook as I refuse to donate money to them until they lynch Gillian! Sorry!

Le sigh!

However, this week PBS more than made up with it when they revamped my second favorite show Mystery! with a new host and a new introduction!

Alan Cumming has made his debut as a fine host of Mystery! The Muse is not worthy of the awesomeness of Alan Cumming being so brilliant at introducing Mystery!

I lust after Alan Cumming in a major way and I couldn't be happier that PBS has heard my agonizing cries of mercy and provided me with at the very least an awesome host for Mystery! It's the least they could do after making me suffer through the badness that is Gillian Anderson.

On a side note check out Billie Piper making the cross over from Masterpiece Classic to Masterpiece Mystery! Obviously, life after Doctor Who and Diary of a Call Girl were simply not enough! Go Billie Go!

Ok I guess I'm appeased now! Happiness is gagging over Alan Cumming's fine, dapper introduction on Mystery! Well done!

I've been a patron member for about 8 years or so now so if you'd like to donate proceeds of your cosmetic funds to PBS do have a click over!

Sometimes it's not always about make up! ;)

And the Winners Are..............

Sorry I'm a bit late with this but may I have a Drum roll please!?

And the Winners of the SpinLash Contest are......................

Robert
Marty Pauline

Rachel Vargas

In order to collect your prize please e-mail your complete home address to musings.of.a.muse@gmail.com! If I don't hear from the winners within 7 days I will select new winners!

Sadly, a problem with Blogger caused all the comments to appear ahead of time but most people put their hardest googling techniques to work in order to get the correct answers to my question!

If you somehow missed it here were the questions:

Who is the girl below?

Hint: Mr. Saxon aka The *blank* once mentioned how her "father" (I use the term father loosely!) supposedly single handedly sealed the rift in The *blank* Cascade!

The girl is Jenny, the good Doctor's Daughter! I used the term "father" very loosely as Jenny was created using some of the Doctor's DNA. Sorry Who fans sadly Jenny was not created in the traditional sense and there was no hanky panky involved! The Muse arranged it so no sexual hijinks will occur unless I'm present within the Tardis. House rules and all that!

A little fun fact for the Who fans: Georgia Moffett is actually Paul Davison's real daughter! Pretty awesome right?

If you filled in the blanks correctly and said the Master you'd be right! Mr. Saxon was an alias for the Doctor's arch enemy, the Master (RSVP Roger Delgado! The one true Master in the Muse's eyes!).

Although it hasn't happened yet, the Master does indeed mention that the Doctor single handedly sealed the rift in the Medusa Cascade.

Yay if you got all the answers correct! I wish I had a SpinLash to give to each and everyone of you but sadly I only had three to give away but we always have next time right?

Congrats to our winners!

SpinLash Review and a Contest!

Here's an affordable tool you might want to add to your beauty arsenal:

The SpinLash!

SpinLash is a revolving brush that coats each of your lashes (both lower and upper) with mascara while avoiding clumping! If you have a problem with clumping this be the tool for you!

I don't really have much of a problem with clumping but I must admit that this definately does a mighty fine job of grabbing each lash and coating it in mascara plus not only separating my lashes but adding nice volume at the same time.

I was a bit scared of placing a spinning brush anywhere near my eye area however it works basically the same way your regular wand would aside from the fact it rotates. The bristles revolve all the way around in a gentle, slow motion not only coating your lashes with your mascara but also curling them up and out plus separating them and adding volume.

The SpinLash is only $14.95 USD and comes with it's own mascara however, in my humble opinion, the best part of this product is you're able to use it with your own mascara! For me that's a total plus!

The mascara this comes with isn't too bad and hey it's free so no rants from me about that however I prefer using the unit with my own mascara. I tried it with it's own mascara plus my Majorca Majolica mascara. I was astounded with the results I got when using it with the MJ Mascara. MJ adds super volume to my lashes anyway but when used it in conjunction with the SpinLash I was impressed with the glamorous look of my lashes!

The brush on the SpinLash is soft rubber which makes for easy clean up. I used it and proceeded to dunk it in alcohol and wipe clean after use. The mascara came off fairly easy plus it prepped the brush for my next use.

The positive experience of having one product to not only curl my lashes but also apply product with the added benefits of separating my lashes and adding extra volume is definately a likey for the Muse! Whether this will completely do away with my beloved lash curler remains to be seen but it's definately worth checking out for yourself plus you can't really go wrong for the price!

The SpinLash in Action!

If you're Asian and you're plagued with short, stubby lashes this might be the tool for you as the unit does a good job of grabbing the lashes and pulling them up and out!

All in all it's an interesting tool and worth trying out for yourself!

The SpinLash is available for purchase now at www.SpinLash.com

They have some upcoming products that caught my eye on the website so do visit! One of which was entitled SpinBlush! Whoa...the Muse likes the sound of that!

Want a SpinLash for your own?

Join the Muse's Contest to Win a SpinLash! I have three Brand New SpinLashes with Mascara to give away to three readers at Musings!

The contest is open Worldwide so all my pretty readers from all over the world can enter to win your very own SpinLash!

All you need to do to enter is identify the girl below and enter in the comment field who she is! Now it's not as simple as saying who she is in "real life" but more along the lines of what character she recently played!

All the names of the readers who guess correctly will be placed in a bowl and three will be randomly selected to win a SpinLash!

Hint: Mr. Saxon aka The *blank* once mentioned how her "father" (I use the term father loosely!) supposedly single handedly sealed the rift in The *blank* Cascade!

You didn't think I was going to make it that easy did you?

Wanna play some more?

Fill in the blanks above and win an extra surprise! My lips are sealed what the surprise is but if you guess correctly I'll be sure to include it with your SpinLash!

So let's see.....

That's one person you need to identify in order to be entered to win a free SpinLash and two blanks you need to fill out in order to win a second surprise!

There is one other catch to winning! Should you win you'll have to review the SpinLash at Musings! The Muse wants to know what you think of the SpinLash!

Good Luck! May the force be with you!

Friday Night with Doctor Who

I have to stay home and stop my entire life on Friday night as the good Doctor is appearing on my telly screen April 18th! Cancel everything! Clear my schedule!

Just a friendly non cosmetic note from the Muse that Doctor Who, Season 4, returns on the Sci/Fi Channel Friday night (I'm gasping for breath in excitement)!

Set your Tivos!

Does it gives you tingles when he says, "I'm the Doctor, I'm a Timelord!" or is it only me?

ya ya I know how annoying Catherine Tate is but what can you do!

Remind yourself how funny she can be by watching this clip:

It's so difficult to choose who wins for most annoying...Catherine..Kylie..Catherine...Kylie...DO NOT WANT! Can it be Rose time again? Billie where iz you the Muse misses you! Put me out of my bloody misery pleaze! I'd settle for Sarah Jane Smith in her 80's at this point!

If you're not feeling David you can always take a blast through the past with the Muse's very favorite Doctor, the one, the only Mr Tom Baker!

No one can replace the quirk that Tom Baker brought to the Doctor!

The hardest regeneration I went through! *sniff*

The Doctor is, was, and always will be Muse Approved!

Sorry sometimes you have to suffer through some of these Non Cosmetic, Geeky Bits that the Muse loves so much now back to our regularly scheduled Cosmetic Babblings.......

Ghost Hunters Return: Uh Oh Another One of Those Non-Cosmetic Posts

w00t! Ghost Hunters returned tonight!

The Muse has set the Tivo and recorded every juicy minute (when I'll get a sec to watch it is anyone's guess!)!

Don't get me wrong I've been enjoying Ghost Hunters International but I was missing Tango in a major way! The Muse crushes on Tango in a rather strange way! What's not the like? He stutters slightly, he's twitchy as hell, and he looks like he might fall over if I blow on him but hey he hunts ghosts that's enough for the Muse! I met Tango at a geeky Fangoria style convention about a year and a half ago and can I tell you he's as neurotic in real life as he is on the telly but still damn cute! Sadly, I don't have pics as I was being as neurotic as he is when I met him! I may have even developed some sorta stutter! Imagine if I met a real celebrity? I'd fall over and have convulsions!

So an anonymous poster had posted in my Lestat blog and said that "she loves the random geeky bits..." I can't begin to tell you how properly chuffed I was when I read that! I got that warm, fuzzy feeling in the pit of my stomach and I felt like I had accomplished something for the geeks of the world! YES I've evolved and become not only your makeup guru but your geek god! I rock!

Kidding.

Seriously I was super proper happy that she was enjoying content that was geeky in nature minus the cosmetic side.

Thus this particular post came alive after I got her comment because I sincerely want to share the joys of the Ghost Hunters with possible fans in Cosmetic Land.

Granted Ghost Hunters has gone from somewhat scary to "oh my god this is so fake" to "wow Jason looks strange being bald and all and having a beard" to "warning: Purely for entertainment purposes only".

I'm saddened by the fact that Ghost Hunters has taken the commercial path and choose endorsement over science. I'm not a big believer in ghosts in all honesty (I am a believer in aliens if that counts?!) but during the first season of Ghost Hunters they had me slightly believing that maybe just maybe it was true. But it slowly went downhill soon after and I was unable to take much of it seriously. Over the course of it's run I'd say it was from being sorta believable to being hopelessly full of bologna!

Anyway even if it is for entertainment purposes I still enjoy it in a major way! I'm actually quite saddened the team has dwindled down so much and all the awesome people I enjoyed laughing at (Brian anyone?) are long gone.

However, at least I get to see Brian and Barry make fools of themselves in England, Scotland, Etc...Seriously what's better then Brian in England running around like an idiot!

The team has since added that Kris or Chris chick who I find deeply annoying! The original cast is pretty much null and Jason, Grant, Steve, and Tango are all that remains but I get my kicks where I can and enjoy it even minus half the originals.

Personally the Muse wants a show named Ghost Hunters Dave Tango Style but I doubt it'll happen but if you want to start a petition give a yell!

Love GH?
Hate it?
Heart Tango?

Tell the Muse!

Lestat's Return: Babblings of an Un-Cosmetic Nature

Here's one for the Lestat fans (there have to be one or two of you out there in cosmetic land).

It appears Anne Rice is returning to her roots and giving Lestat some much needed air to breath, he's been buried up in his tomb for far too long and many of his fans miss him (the Muse does!). Anne Rice spoke to Time Magazine recently and promises one more book for Lestat.

It interests me she'll be breathing life back into Lestat but I fear for Lestat's return as from the article's tone it appears Lestat will be released back into the head storm of Anne Rice's religious hurricane (I'm an atheist, no I'm not, yes I am, no I'm not!)!

If you've been buried under a rock for 12 years or you're just not a big reader you probably haven't noticed the lack of blood dripping from Anne Rice novels as of late. That's simply because Anne Rice is no longer an atheist and "re-found" the catholic church. In short terms, this meant she'd buried the Vampire Chronicles and 'the evil" it created for her and she'd take on the new adventure of writing about Christ's life. I can't make this stuff up it's all completely true. A lady that was writing about Sleeping Beauty in Bondage a few years ago is now a hardcore Christian...I dunno..whatever floats your boat I guess...stranger things have happened right?

I haven't been a fan of Anne in a while in all honesty. Her work began a downward spiral a very long time ago and Lestat had long since lost his ability to speak to me since...god...who knows a very long time ago.

I've done my duty, as a good fan, and read through everything she's put out (with much difficulty) over the course of the last several years. Reading Memnoch was at times comparable to root canal surgery with a rusty drill!

I guess we do that from time to time with someone we love reading (King is a good example). We fall under the illusion that the next book out will surely recapture the intense feeling we experienced when we originally read the author's first book. But it's never really the case is it?

Lestat's return won't happen for a few more years yet I imagine (even the article states as much) but I'll keep some sort of hope (not a high hope...) alive that he might make a colorful reappearance in her next novel! Who knows maybe Lestat will learn to communicate on the same level with Anne that he used to before Anne went off on her trip to Never Never Land without him.

The Muse looks forwards to the gentleman vampire's return (even though my gut tells me it's going to be a very weird trip)!

Cheers Lestat de Lioncourt! High hopes for one last big bang before you disappear off the literary circuit for good.

By the way if you're really missing the goth you can always appease your hunger by reading Christopher Rice's dribble...that's not quite root canal surgery...it's more alone the lines of brain surgery while you're fully awake!

Yay!
