Smashbox O-Gloss Review

Ahh another completely pointless product! What would life be like without them?

I purchased Smashbox O-Gloss and have been using it daily for two weeks prior to sitting down to write this review and I'm still somewhat speechless as to what to say about it.

It pretty much lacks in all departments so save your pennies and don't bother.

First of all the texture isn't fabulous. It's not tacky and it's not sticky and let me tell you it's definately not glossy. I really can't think of a good way to describe how it feels going on. It just feels somewhat blah! It has virtually no shiny factor to it at all and it sorta kinda dries my lips a little bit.

The gloss is clear and it's supposed to "match" your true color and of course I wasn't expecting much as we all know how much of drama comes with Smashbox O-Glow but it's safe to say that there isn't any drama with O-Gloss as it's completely and utterly clear and doesn't change color at all, at least it didn't for me. When you apply O-Glow at least it turns from clear to a delicate shade of pink upon contact with your skin but I can't claim the same for the gloss. It virtually stays clear in the tube and on your lips. I've gotten no color at all from it. Zip, Zero, Nada!

Have I ended up with a bad tube? It's possible as I've heard other reviews stating it changes to a bubblegum pink when applied but on me I just get the same dull flesh colored lips! Mind you I've been playing with it daily for the past few weeks and it doesn't change at all! I wouldn't mind bubblegum pink at least it's color but it's clear on me, completely clear!

The tube is $22 USD and definately not worth it as it's a smaller size then your standard gloss plus it doesn't perform the way it promises. Hell, I wouldn't mind the price so much if it actually worked.

Sorry Smashbox I have to give this one a big thumbs down!

Not worth your cash, stay clear!

The Muse and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

My god it's been the utter week from hell!

I need to rant a little!

I've been so sick since Sunday and I having thee worst agonizing sore throat EVER! If this wasn't enough about two million other things have happened to totally unsettle my week!

My best jubako (I brought it while in Japan! It was sooooo freaking special to me!) was shattered into two million pieces this morning when I grabbed for it quickly! Ugh! GRRR! I was so upset I almost cried! To make matters worst I repacked my bits into a bento and that too freaking fell on the floor (my office kitchen is littered with the remains of my carefully packed bento right now!)!!! My god the horror! How freaking crazy is this!? *sniff* Bloody hell I find packing a bento very relaxing but not this morning!

To make things even worst............!!!!!!!!!

I had billing reports due out today and Fed-Ex came early (they came at 10:45 AM?!?! WTH! They are supposed to pick up at 4:30 PM!!!!!!!) and they weren't done this means that I have to make the stupid long track after work to drop them off at Fed-Ex myself! I wouldn't mind so much if I was feeling 100% but I'm feeling about 10% at the moment!

It's excruciatingly painful to swallow at the moment due to my very sore throat, I lost my keys and I'm having to use my valet key for my car (I'm so scared it's going to snap in the ignition), I can't find anything on my desk at the moment, my lunch is ruined.......

My stomach is growling at the moment as I haven't eaten anything aside from hot tea in two days and I'm not below taking my chopsticks, sitting cross legged on the floor and picking the remains of my bento off the floor.....anyone wanna join me?

Pray tell what else can go wrong today?

Please can I go home now and back to bed?

Did I mention that I can't find anything on my desk? I said that already didn't I?

Someone shoot me....

Just shoot me...put the Muse out of her misery......

Miserable Muse

Hey guys!

I know many of you have come to expect daily updates from me 3-4 times a day and I just wanted to say sorry as I've been a bit remiss lately because I'm suffering from the worst sore throat ever and it's making me miserable and quite weak!

I stayed home Monday and went to the Doctor yesterday but I'm still feeling very poorly today!

I have so much to do at my office today it's surreal when all I want is my bed!

Anyway!

I thought I'd compile a list of past posts for you while I'm busy working and feeling yuck so you'll at least have something to enjoy while I'm slow posting! I picked the posts by what you've been searching for on my blog as of late!

Stila's Spring 4 Eyes Palettes

Stila has introduced two new quads for the Spring entitled Spring 4 Eyes in two flavors, Montemart and Marrakesh.

According the Stila's website each palette is mini size and the shadows are about the size of a US nickel!

They sound very cute but the price tag of $38 USD doesn't thrill me nor do the colors! The palette itself looks quite nice with the silver embossed Stila logo but I'm not excited enough to shell out nearly $40 for a tiny palette!

Montemart is a cool palette that contains shimmering shades of pinks and purples while Marrakesh is a warm palette that contains shimmering shades of golds and bronzes!

They look very cute but I think I'll be passing as I know of at least four other collections that have caught my eye and are on the top of my Must Have List for the Spring (Plus I don't want to be caught in three months having spent the original price tag and seeing them on sale as Stila has been having a TON of sales as of late!).

Majolica Majorca Spring 2008 Collection: Website Update

Finally!

Praise Jebus!

Majolica Majorca's Website has been updated with the new Spring 2008 Collection!

This is something many of us have been waiting for very patiently with much anticipation (or is it only me?)!

The site is currently a bit slow as I'm sure it's getting major traffic so I've taken a few screen shots for you!

In order to view the new Collection you have to "catch the butterflies"! So scroll around the page and you'll locate a few little surprises!

The Spring Collection consists of:

3 New Majolica Majolook Trick On Palettes

These are slightly different from the standard Majolook Palettes as they don't have a liner or a cream base! I think all the colors are powder! All the palettes will be part of the general catalog aside from one that's LE which is the GR741 Variation and the most beautiful of the lot in my opinion!

3 Honey Balm Lipglosses

I'm not entirely interested in these to be honest as they are just a retake on the current glosses in the general catalog however you might want to pick them up as they are all LE!

And finally a new Lash Enamel was introduced as well!

This is your standard Lash Enamel! All the releases always seem the same with little differences but I still want it as I like trying each formula they release on the Enamel and the Extender!

I was happy to see the promo images were in English however the instructions for the palettes are in Japanese so we'll have to wait for our little angel to translate it for us!

Overall, I'm impressed! I'm loving the palettes and want one of each plus the Lash Enamel! I'm skipping on the glosses as I'm not all that impressed with the regular Honey Plumping Glosses!

How about you?
Loving this collection?
Want it?

P.S. Remember to scroll around the site to locate all the little surprises! There are two very nice wallpapers available for download of the new promo images featuring the models!

Dior's Spring Collection 2008: 1st Impressions

I picked up Dior's Spring Collection recently and I was waiting to review it as I wanted to do an FOTD with most of what I purchased but I never got a chance to dig into this yet and time is a wasting so I thought I'd do the pictures and my general first impressions that way if you're currently wanting this you can at least see what it's like before you buy!

The Collection consists of 4 glosses, two shadow palettes, two shimmer powders, and one special powder palette.

I ended up getting one shadow palette, one shimmer powder, one gloss, and the special powder palette. In all honesty I wanted everything all at once and right away but I practiced some sort of willpower since some of it wasn't going to work on me!

Obviously, by now you've all heard of the Limited Edition Flower Blossom Face Powder Palette and if you haven't you must be living under a rock (lucky you it's cheaper under there!). The piece is obviously the star of the show here and it's quite gorgeous. I'm absolutely in love with and it's made it's way into my beauty vault never to see the light of day again! I was considering buying an oxygenated tank to put it in but decided that might be a bit much.

Ok, seriously. It's rather beautiful and of course I don't want to use it and neither will you if you buy it! I lightly swiped my finger across it and it's a very fine, silky powder that appears quite pigmented. How pigmented it is remains to be seen because as the moment I can't actually bring myself to put my brush into it and smear the beautifully embedded spring bouquet design on top that features flowers, ladybugs, and butterflies!

If you're a serious collector you're going to want this and I highly recommend going to your counter now to get it because it appears to be selling rather quickly according to my MA at the Dior Counter. He said he got 50 pieces in stock and when I purchased mine was down to 3!

The palette is $52 USD which is a hefty price tag but in my humblest opinion well worth it if you're a fan of Dior. The palette is beautiful however I found that I was slightly disappointed with the case. It's the standard Dior logo case that this comes in. You'd think they'd have done something a bit different for such a gorgeous powder! Seriously, a standard plastic palette seemed...I dunno...blah! Wouldn't it be wonderful if it came in something like the heavy duty silver case that the Dior Confidential Powder came in!?

Aside, from that minor rant I'm very happy with the powder and pleased to have such an interesting piece to add to my Dior Collection! It's definately Muse Approved for purchase!

I went picture happy with the palette so you can get a feel for what it looks like:

Next up the shimmer powder....

The Shimmer powder comes in two versions, a bronze peach color and a pink color. I ended up with the pink and I did want the bronze peach but as I said I was being good and only buying what I knew I'd use.

You can actually avoid purchasing these for now as they aren't LE and will be available for quite a while. I just ended up giving into temptation because I'm so diseased.

They aren't so great actually. I ended swiping this on my wrist at the counter not my face and it seemed quite nice at the time but when I used it on my face at home I didn't get much of a color pay off or much shimmer for that matter! However, that's not my final take on the powder! I have to try this better before making my final decision on it! It's so pretty that I can't give it a poor review as of yet! After a bit more testing I'll make my final analysis!

Out of the two eyeshadow palettes I picked up Pink May which is an array of lovely pinks and purples! The colors in this particular shadow palette were beautiful and it appeared that this was what they used on the model in the promo picture which is why I leaned towards it although at the moment I am currently wanting the other shadow palette too now! The palettes are $52 USD which is a bit steep but the color payoff is excellent so it's worth the price for such a beautiful, pigmented palette!

Dior has a knack for making me scratch my head sometimes with the color combinations and this palette was no different as a few of the colors just didn't make complete sense to me! Included was a peach color which I'm trying to figure out the best way to incorporate it into my final look but aside from that the palette is beautiful! You'll get a very lovely deep pink color, a beautiful deep purple, a lighter lilac color, an off gold color, and lastly a peach. The colors are all truly gorgeous and all very wearable!

The last item I picked up was an a Dior Addict gloss! This was one item that called to me when I seen it and I had to have it. The strange thing is I knew this would look like rubbish on me as it's such a garish pink color. I refer to it as bubblegum pink! I never look good in bubblegum pink colors! They make my already full face even fuller!

However, to my utter delight and shock after layering this on it made me look quite lovely! It goes well with fresh pink cheeks and just gives me a youthful look! It's a beautiful color and I'm very happy I decided on purchasing it! Out of all the glosses this was by far the prettiest! Again, the model in the promo images are what sold me on the color!

The gloss texture somewhat sucks as it slips and slides right off your lips and applies streaky as I find this happens with ALL Dior Addict glosses however with a bit of practice and some layering you can get a lovely full lip look! Application just takes a bit of practice! This is actually my 2nd favorite item out of my purchases, 1st being, of course, the Flower Blossom Powder!

Overall, the collection is positively beautiful and there is definately something for everyone in the lot of items introduced!
