Lush Antiphilitron Shampoo Review

If by some chance you're looking to wash that man right out of your hair and everything else with it, that would mean it's about time you tried out Lush Antiphilitron Shampoo.

Hello, my name is the Muse and my hair has been silicon free for years now.

Ahhh the joy of living life with silicon free hair. It's like having a good hair day every single day! Lush Shampoo and Conditioners are silicon free which means that hair is not weighted down with tons of yucky additives. Additives which give you bad hair days, frizzy hair, flat hair, oily hair and just general hair woe. Although on occasion my hair does crave a little silicon I try to use silicon based products in moderation.

The moral of my story is if your hair is not feeling it's cleanest and you're wanting to detox, I'm highly suggesting you grab yourself a big bottle of Lush Antiphilitron and call it a day. You'll be happy you did!

What is it?

Think of Antiphilitron as a bottle of detox for your locks. It rinses your hair clean of oil, buildup, silicons, and more! What it leaves behind is pure joy! Your hair will feel lighter with a single use, more manageable with less frizz (if you suffer from frizz that is). If you have oily hair you'll be all the more excited as this works amazingly well on oily scalps to create pure hair bliss! The formula is lemon based which makes hair shiny as well!

Now my hair is a bit on the dry side so I use this once or twice a week to detox my tresses. I use Lush King of Mods and although it doesn't build up in my hair it does leave my hair feeling a bit oily plus during the week I'll occasionally reach for my Skindazzles custom conditioner which is loaded with silicons. To rinse all this out I simply use Antiphilitron once or twice a week for a glowing head of hair! Loves it!

Lush Antiphilitron Shampoo wasn't available for a really long time as it was discontinued but it was brought back recently with Retro Lush! Who knows how long it'll last but I sure hope they keep it around for a while as it's simply awesome!

Who might love it?
  • Anyone with oily hair!
  • Those who want squeaky clean hair.
  • Anyone who's hair is loaded down with build up from product use such as gel, hairspray, silicon shampoo, and conditioner.
  • Anyone who wants picture perfect hair everyday single day!

Lush Antiphilitron Shampoo is simply amazing stuff and comes with my highest Muse Approval for purchase! I heart this stuff in a big way! Pick it up! It's a must have!

Too Faced Pinch My Petals Blush

The Muse is loving herself silly over the Balm Down Boy Blush! Have you not tried it yet? Go now, get some! Come back later to read this for now go get the blush!

Loves it!

When I seen Too Faced Pinch My Petals Blush I couldn't help but notice how similiar the two were! Whoa! Tis like having Down Boy Blush in several shades...likey!

The blushes are $19.50 USD and available in three shade selections! Loves it!

The formula is paraben free and the blush is designed to brighten and freshen up your complexion...hmmm I'm loving it even more! I like the sweet little vintage flip compacts. Very cute. And the price tag isn't too bad either. I think I might indulge in at least to give it a test try and if it's good snag the others.

What do you think?

Wish list?

DuWop Cheek Venom & Doubleglow7 Luminous Balm Duo

I'm not a particularly big fan of DuWop Cheek Venom but when I seen this new Cheek Venom duo I was sorta intrigued.

Exclusive to QVC at the moment the DuWop Cheek Venom & Doubleglow7 Luminous Balm Duo is $24 USD and brings two of DuWop's products togehter in one compact. You'll get a highlighter for cheeks and face with DuWop Doubleglow and a Cheek Venom cream blush to give cheeks a pop of color!

It's rather interesting to see both products packaged together. As I mentioned I'm not a huge fan of Cheek Venom but I've always been tempted to try Doubleglow and hey it's packaged together so kinda a nice little treat!

Want it? Snag it at QVC by typing in item number A90925

Now if they'd only release something like the DuWop Crush Trio! That was good stuff! Please DuWop let's have another of those this year?

Product Musings: Clio Art Blusher

With it's arty packaging and beautiful shade selection Clio Art Blusher is one of my favorite blushes!

I've reviewed Clio Art Blushes before but today I thought I'd muse some about it!

There is something so gorgeous about Clio Blush, well, that's not true really. If I'm honest I'd say there is something so gorgeous about marbleized products in general! Baked products are so pretty! All those pretty veins of color! Clio Blush is such a beautiful piece of makeup art hence it's packaging I guess right? Plus it's so reasonably priced in Korea for such a high end cosmetic! Packaging, color selection, and a soft fluffy brush are only some of the things that make Clio Art Blusher a winner with the Muse!

Loves it!

Sasa does sell Clio Blush at not too bad a price if you're interested!

Anyone else a fan?

Bobbi Brown Lip Quad

The Muse is always up for new Bobbi so when she seen the new Bobbi Brown Lip Quads I could feel myself get giddy!

But....

Ok, so these are super cool right? And not too badly priced! $20 bucks snags you four shades! But I was thinking to myself how strange it is that these can be popped out of their compacts and placed in one of the Bobbi customizable palettes.

Wait....

Huh?

They must be really, really tiny if they can fit inside one of those palettes?! How big are the lippies? Dime size?

Hmff!

Seeing is believing! Guess I have to haul to see it for myself!

What do you think?

Tiny?

Smashbox 'High Definition' Concealer

What? New concealer from Smashbox? Ok, I'll bite!

Smashbox introduces High Definition Concealer meant for concealing dark circles with a weightless formula and a natural finish! It even supposedly helps with under eye puffiness, this could be good! It has a soft touch precious applicator for smooth application around the delicate eye area! Sweet! Likey lots!

I can deal with more of the high def hype so I think I'll take Smashbox 'High Definition' Concealer for a test drive soon!

Musings of the Day: Set It and Forget It?

I'm curious how everyone will answer this Musing today! Do you set your foundation with powder? I know many if you that have oily skin will answer a solid yes but what about those of you with dry skin?

Find out my answer below!

I have dry skin a majority of the time and sometimes a little oily come Summer. For a rather long time I always applied my liquid or cream foundation and didn't bother setting with powder aside from a teeny tiny amount down the sides of my nose. Just the last few months I started setting with powder and love the results. I still hate the fact that powder makes my dry skin all flaky in certain places but I love the fresher, cleaner look of my makeup thanks to the powder and the fact that it makes my foundation last a bit longer.

What about you?

Do you set with powder?

I'm especially curious about to hear about those with dry skin!

Fairy Drops Platinum Mascara

You probably remember me blogging Fairy Drops Mascara way back when! Well, Fairy Drops now has a website...whoa...and it's introduced a brand new version of it's popular mascara which is called Fairy Drops Platinum...double whoa.

As far as I can see Fairy Drops Platinum is about the same formula as the regular Fairy Drops but has a different applicator. The brush applicator on this new version is slightly curved to fit the contour of the eye better plus I believe the new version may be a fiber based mascara but I can't verify. It retails for 2,200 yen and may be discounted by 20-30% in Japanese drugstores but again I can't verify.

I did find it decently priced online for $28 USD however after shipping it may not be such a fab deal. But if you having a lemming you can pick it up from Japan LA for yourself.

Although I love the regular version of Fairy Drops Mascara I'm unsure I'll pick up Platinum or not. Current conversion rate from yen to usd is working in our favor so if you have a friend or family member you might want to ask for a cp.

Looks interesting to say the least!

Want it cheaper? Try out Rimmel Sexy Curves!

Anyone have a try?

In the Muse's Purse: Clean Fun Perfume Oil

Inside my purse is a Clean Fun Roll On Perfume Oil that I never leave home without!

Find out why....

The Muse happens to be the biggest fan Clean Perfume probably ever had but she's so mad at them for never bringing Clean Fun out in EDP format. Oh my god it's the awesome. I can't believe they never thought to make it into a perfume but just left it as an oil!

How they managed to bottle up the fresh scent of a shower with super fun, flirty blast of citrus is beyond me but that's exactly what it reminds me of. A cross between "clean", "fruity", and "sweet". It's heaven. Notes of Green Tangerine, Grapefruit, Orange and Limes create a wonderful wake me up fragrance that lives up to it's name, "Fun!"

I tote Clean Fun around with me everywhere and use it as a quick touch up when my perfume has long since worn away. It's the perfect perfume oil for nights I am leaving from work and heading out with friends for dinner, a movie, or just to hang out. It wakes up me, keeps people asking me, "what are you wearing?", and puts me in good spirits!

Such a fun, uplifting scent! Clean Fun Perfume Oil is in this Muse's purse!

Every tried Clean Fun?

Love it?

Yay or Nay: Benefit Coralista

Benefit Coralista has been out quite a while now so I'm sure many of you have either picked it up or had a swatch and a play at your local Sephora or counter. The question today is was Benefit Coralista a Yay or a Nay for you?

Jump ahead to see if the Muse was Yayin' or Nayin' it (as if you don't already know my answer)!

The sweet smell of tropical peach, a pigmented blushing powder that's a cross between peach and coral, and great packaging? Obviously it's a Yay for this Muse!

I absolutely adore this stuff and think it's probably one of the best Benefit Powders released to date, believe me I know as I've tried 'em all!

What do you think? Was Benefit Coralista a Yay or a Nay for you?

Etsy Musings

The Muse happens to be a BIG Etsy junkie. It's a huge addiction, like really, really big. The Muse's mum is fond of the phrase "from soup to nuts", in this case that would be a real fitting way of understanding my purchases on Etsy. I literally buy from soup to nuts on the site. Makeup, clothes, jewelry, perfume....you name it I've purchased it somehow or someway on Etsy. I've been shopping on Etsy since around 2006 or so. In the past three year's Etsy has grown up to be such a big and wonderful place to score such amazing finds.

I wrote about Etsy once before on Musings, quite a long time ago when I first began my blog. At the time I had plans to bring a category to my site which would be an "Etsy finds" daily post sort of thing. Someway, somehow that wonderful idea got tossed to the back burner and never really got taken out of the closet until now.

Lately, I've been tossing around ideas on how to make my blog more interesting. I feel like I do the same thing day after day and I just want something to spice up my little home on the Internet. What came into play was the rebirth of my "Etsy Musings" idea from days of old.

Mostly I embraced my idea for this new category simply because we are all looking for an escape from the expensive and really would love some unique, inexpensive beauty finds. Secondly, I really wanted to give a little recognition to my favorite sellers on Etsy. Many of these people aren't in it for a simple buck, this is their art, an expression of their personality. I felt like many of these artists (I refrain from using the word sellers) needed a voice, someone to shout out to the world about how wonderful they are and again the rebirth of Etsy Musings took place.

So for the sake of unique, inexpensive beauty finds made by wonderful artists....I bring to you Etsy Musings which will be a weekly or a monthly or an every other day post about a great Etsy find and the artist behind it.

I hope you'll enjoy this interesting category. I hope it'll lead you towards an interesting, unique, and inexpensive beauty find. I hope it'll help you to embrace your inner artist. I hope it'll simply put a smile on your face after finding a neat little treat that doesn't cost you $25 bucks but simply a dollar or two.

I'll begin Etsy Musings starting this week with a review and an interview from a kawaii jewelry maker that lives in the Philippines and literally brings a "sweet" touch to jewelry!

Stay tuned for the details but for now what are your thoughts on Etsy?

Lover?

Pacifica Solid Perfume Review: Pacifica Lotus Garden, Pacifica Bali Lime Papaya, Pacifica Tunisian Jasmine, and Pacifica Egyptian Bergamot Rose

When I noticed that one of newest brands that Sephora is carrying at the moment was Pacifica I got all kinds of hyper. With high standards about what goes in their products plus an inexpensive price tag, Pacifica is a user friendly product on all accounts.

Facing a declining economy plus a need for more vegan/organic brands, Pacifica comes out as a shining beacon. With plenty of bath and body options in large sizes with small price tags the brand manages to appeal to our need for more all while paying alot less.

I'll be featuring several items from the Pacifica Collection over the course of the next few days as I'm so deeply impressed with the quality and the price. I'm positive after you hearing my raves you'll want to indulge in a few items yourself!

Jump ahead to hear me babbling in joy over Pacifica Solid Perfume!

Boxed up in brightly packaged slide boxes, Pacific Solid Perfumes captivate and make a girl want to reach out and grab one just to look at the sweet little boxes the perfumes are housed in. Although the box is gorgeous the real gold lays with in so slide it open to reveal a sweet little tin no bigger than a size of a MAC eyeshadow that houses a gorgeous little solid perfume that paraben-free ad made from organic coconut wax, organic soy wax, and natural and essential oils.

These sweet vegan friendly perfume solids pack an interesting, complex, and unique scent that's traveler friendly and cute as a button! If you're wanting to multitask you can use these solids not only as a perfume but also to rub on rough elbows, knees, and cracked heels for a bit of extra moisture but remember for the most part they are solid perfumes.

The scents all have a nice throw and a good linger but my body chemistry sucks them up so I do have to reapply throughout the day to keep the scent fresh. Considering the tins are so tiny I can tuck one in my makeup bag or desk draw for a quickie pick me up through the day. A bit on all my pulse points freshens up the scent and creates a subtle yet lovely little scent of goodness. I tried four of the blends but there are a slew of others. From fruity to natural, woodsy or herbal, Pacifica has that perfect little scent for everyone. The scents I tried were Lotus Garden, Tunisian Jasmine, Bali Lime Papaya, and Egyptian Bergmont Rose.

Pacifica Solid Perfume in Lotus Garden was recommended to me and I must say it's the very best of all four. I was thinking how floral it would be but it's actually very fresh with hints of fruit and a tiny underlay of floral. Incredible scent. The dominant note that takes over the blend for me is a crisp, clean citrus. The citrus keeps the blend fruity but it's quickly followed up with green notes and a strong underlay of lotus which gives it a certain twang. Who would think that citrus and lotus would go so well together? The scent manages to have a fun element but also a sexy one. It's truly something you have to experience to understand, an amazing fruity floral blend that's fresh, clean, and sweet!

If it's fruit you crave with a sweet kick Pacifica Solid Perfume in Bali Lime Papaya is sure to please! A dominant note of papaya will hit you right in the face on first sniff but the twang of lime morphs the blend and creates a sweet, tart blend that's complex and fun, perfect Summer scent!

Pacifica Solid Perfume in Tunisian Jasmine is ridiculously good. I don't particularly like the scent of jasmine and this is straight up, in your face jasmine but oh it's something special. It contains Mediterranean almond which could account for what makes this blend so incredible. It's a really fresh, floral but very hardcore and heavy. It's unique, very sexy, and utterly different. Loves it!

And finally, my last scent, I tried Pacifica Solid Perfume in Egyptian Bergamot Rose. Yet another complex and interesting blend full of warm, spicy notes and hints of floral this blend is sexy and flirty. I get a strong dominant note of a spicy musk for the most part but the rose and bergamont keep the scent fresher and slightly floral. I'd favor this for more of an evening scent!

At a sweet price tag of merely $9 USD each Pacifica Solid Perfumes won't break your beauty budget. Each tiny tin is ideal for travel can be easily toted around for quickie touch ups on the fly. Pretty, bright, festive packaging keeps a Muse coming back for second and third helpings of these sweet little perfumes.

All in all I think Pacifica Solid Perfumes are truly a unique little beauty find and sure to please both vegan friendly and beauty budget gals alike!

The Muse loves 'em! Cute, fun, and unique these are the perfect price for spoiling yourself.

Visit your local Sephora to grab some fantastic Steals and Deals from Pacifica, you'll notice you get alot more for alot less! Likey!

Tried Pacifica yet?

Loving it?
