Smashbox Muse Collection

The Muse has fully embraced her "musey" personality for almost two years now on Musings of a Muse and it appears that Smashbox decided it was about time to tell the world how awesome the Muse truly is.

I'm almost but not quite positive that when Smashbox created it's new Muse Collection they were thinking ALL about this Muse. Honestly who else could they have possibly been envisioning when going about the creative process of creating a Muse Collection right?

The new Smashbox Muse Collection looks quite fun and funky but not completely what this Muse is all about however that does NOT stop me from wanting every single piece in the collection simply because it has my name...errr...I mean my alter ego's name stamped all over it!

It's actually a pretty nice round up and I thought it was interesting that they included a pencil set as it's abnormal to have sets such as this after the Holidays.

As you can see the Smashbox Muse Collection has a long way to go to be as uber fabulous and awesome as this Muse but it'll pass. The Muse thinks she'll take her chair and table and head to Sephora and the nearest Nordies and set up shop outside. As people purchase the collection the Muse will offer to autograph the boxes of the collection as who doesn't want an autographed copy of a Muse Collection right?

Hmmm yes I believe I will do that....check for me at your local makeup counter soon!

Sephora Sale!

Hmmmm the Muse came across some interesting sales on Sephora today! Seems Sephora is axing Pop Beauty and Vincent Longo from the line up and slashing prices on LE Holiday goodies across the line!



And here we are with another sale......

Nothing is sacred this year and virtually everything, including luxury gifts, are getting the axe and experiencing an abnormal price cut! A reader mentioned that MAC in the UK is even having a sale...makeup sale in Europe? Unheard of!

Sephora appears to be doing it's normal house cleaning by placing Pop Beauty and Vincent Longo on sale however they are also slashing prices on many, many gift sets! This is highly unusual and leads me to believe that the items simply didn't sell well this year and they have to get rid of them somehow. Right now it's 7 pages give or take a few pages for items that were already on sale such as Bourjois Paris and Sugar Cosmetics however I'm seeing big name brands on the sale list such as Stila, Urban Decay, even Fresh!

I'm curious what will happen as Christmas comes nearer and in fact passes for that matter. I'm guessing we are in for some serious discounts after the Holiday. We've seen some great sales this season but I think we are in for some SERIOUS sales come the New Year! Who knows this year you may see them giving away items for free during the semi-annuals! At this rate we are all going to need extra storage to stash away our ridiculous hauls.

Lush Frothy The Snowman Review

Baby, it's cold outside!

Damn that Tom Jones! I'd fling my panties at him any day of the week!

Fact of the matter is it really is cold outside! The Muse just got home after fighting with traffic and idiotic New York drivers. But she's safe and sound in her house now. At the moment it's a stormin' outside and 15 inches of snow is expected to land outside. The good news is it makes it feel more like Christmas but the bad news is that the Muse happens to be way too old to go outside and build a snowman! Darn.

But she really doesn't have to forsake that snowman....Lush has a solution!

There isn't anything in the world like a really hot bath when the chill of the winter is howling outside your window. Forsaking the outdoor snowman for an indoor one in my bath was the way to go today! Meet Lush Frothy the Snowman Bubble Bar:







Isn't he cute?

Covered with flakes of coconut he's supposed to smell like liquorice allsorts! The Muse thinks he kinda smells like Lush Curly Wurly Shampoo though, all tropical and vanilla like!

Frothy creates mounds of soft, fluffy bubbles (hence his name...froth.....bubbles...get it?) in your bath while scenting your hair, body, and skin with a mix of coconut, licorice, and vanilla. He's quite moisturizing and after stepping from the tub you'll notice how soft and smooth he's made your skin! The Muse thinks he's rather cute as a stocking stuffer or a little topper on a gift.







The only sad thing about Frothy the Snowman is you have to crumble him up into little pieces to use him in your bath but once you get over mourning his broken little body you'll be happy to step into your hot bathtub filled with lovely, scented bubbles to relax and de-stress!

He's a holly jolly soul and welcome in my bathtub anytime of the year but sadly he told the Muse not to cry as he's limited edition and will be gone after Christmas but he may be back again someday!

Tarte Purse Your Lips Review and Swatches

The Muse thinks the best value of the season comes tucked in a purple and silver clutch! Tarte Purse Your Lips Limited Edition LipGloss Clutch is the hostess with the mostess when it comes to stashing away not 3, not 5, not even 6....but 9 glosses!





If you're looking for a nice little luxe gift to give someone special this is honestly a super little kit (but then again you know you're so keeping this for yourself!). I couldn't resist it's evil lure for long and now it's mine, mine, mine! This is one of the only gloss sets I've seen with so much choice available. Most gloss gift sets include 5 or at the most 6 mini glosses where as the Tarte Purse Your Lips includes 9 shade selections! Sweet! The Muse likey variety! Remember she thinks it's the spice of life!



I'm normally a big supporter of Tarte's standard purple quilted packaging but I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the new gold and purple design. The clutch the glosses come stashed in is quite a nice, heavy clutch with a snap front closure, a hard shell, and a croc-like feel. It's a welcome addition to my holiday wardrobe and great for toting around to holiday parties and such! Honestly half the price tag is well worth the clutch alone as it's a nice quality item.




The glosses tucked inside range from reds, to shimmering golds, to browns, and clears...a little something for everyone is included and I can't honestly say any shade didn't work for me! They are all quite gorgeous and pigmented too! The glosses are tiny so don't expect full size or normal standard mini sizes, they are cute little pocket friendly pieces. I actually don't mind the size in the least as I have so many glosses already that these are nice to tuck into my purse for touch ups and I'm not worried about whether or not I'll be able to use it all up.



























































Breaking down the price of $39 USD you're looking at $4.33 USD per a gloss....I think the glosses themselves, taking size into consideration, are worth about $3.50 USD so the Muse says throw the change in for the cute clutch and I think it's well worth it's price tag.

If you love Tarte you're so going to want it! If you have a cosmetic junkie in your life it's an ideal gift or if you're just wanting to expand your growing gloss collection then the Tarte Purse Your Lips Lipgloss Clutch Gift Set is definately for you!
