Prescriptives Holiday Collection 2008: AGLOW

I've taken a look at the Prescriptives AGLOW champaign and I must say I'm duly impressed and eager to see it on counters!

Prescriptives Holiday Collection AGLOW will be available on counters and on the Prescriptives website in November, I'm happy see that Prescriptives is taking things slow and giving us room to enjoy the beautiful Fall season, I wish more companies would consider the same!

I like the looks of virtually everything that's available from this collection but I'm seriously lemming the Prescriptives Winter Reflections All-Over-Highlighter which is limited edition compact of soft, shimmering pearls to highlighting the face with shades of white, beige, and pink! You can use these on face or body which makes them a great multitasking product!

Prescriptives is also releasing two limited edition eye shadow quads in a Warm and Cool version. The Prescriptives Winter Reflections Eye Color Quad comes housed in a platinum mirror compact and contain four coordinating shimmering shades of color! I have my eye on the cool version but the warm version looks equally as nice!

Prescriptives Winter Reflections Eye Color Quad Warm

  • Chestnut (New & LE shade)
  • Brunette (New & LE Shade)
  • Suede (New & LE Shade)
  • Banana

Prescriptives Winter Reflections Eye Color Quad Cool

  • Oyster (New & LE Shade)
  • Twinkle (New & LE Shade)
  • Eclipse (New & LE Shade)
  • Shell

Prescriptives is also releasing a brand new Blush More or Less shade in Santa Fe Sun.

For lips Prescriptives has several limited edition shades of gloss and lipstick available in the following selections:

Prescriptives Coloruscope Lip Gloss (All Shades are LE)

  • Twinkling
  • Peachy
  • Rosy
  • Icy

Prescriptives Colourscope Lipcolor

  • Golden Quartz (LE)
  • True Bronze
  • Winter Rose (LE)
  • Wisteria

All in all I really like the looks of this collection and hopefully will nab some to review for you soon! I'm highly interesting in checking out the shimmering pearls for sure!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Blush On The Go Make Up Sheets Review

Well, slap me and call me silly! I do believe, somehow, some way, I ended up giving money to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen of all people!

Oops...! Wrong picture!

Ahh much better! Sorry 'bout that!

So what was I saying?

Oh yes, I recently gave $7 USD and some change to the Mary-Kate and Ashley Cosmetic Line....Yes, I have lost my mind!

Dude...for serious...did you even know Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen had a cosmetic line? I must live under a rock because I haven't been exposed to the height of sophistication that is the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Cosmetic Collection! It's like Chanel only much better....the Muse is being dry...very, very dry.....

Turns out they do indeed have a cosmetic line and you can get it by visiting E-bay and purchasing it in bulk boxes of 300 pieces or you can get some at your local evil empire...errr I mean Walmart! I personally like buying my Mary-Kate and Ashley Cosmetics in bulk lots from E-bay however I happened to be in the evil empire with my sister a few weeks ago (she loves the evil empire passionately and enjoys giving them mounds of her cash while I cry in agony on the side lines! "Why GOD! WHY!!!!!!! Not my own flesh and blood!!!!!") and came across Mary Kate and Ashley's enchanting line of cheap cosmetics while I was begrudgingly strolling through the cosmetic aisle and cursing my sister for dragging me to bloody Walmart with her (what if someone fabulous I know seen me there? God forbid!)!

The bad news is the Mary Kate and Ashley line sucks majorly...I know, I know...don't be disappointed, chin up, it'll be ok the Muse promises! The good news is I came across Blush On The Go Make Up Sheets and I'll admit, shame faced and embarrassed, that I kinda dig these things...

What the hell are Blush On The Go Make Up Sheets anyway Muse?

Well...these are kinda like oil blotting sheets only they contain a shimmering blush! Cool right? Take a sheet out, swipe across your cheeks, blend, and you're left with blushing cheeks...whoa!

Blush On The Go Sheets in Radiance

Blush On The Go Sheets in Flushed

Seriously, I was kinda shocked at how cute these were and how well they worked! Each box comes with 50 sheets and shocked am I that they are actually pigmented! I got two shades but there are a total of four shades available plus bronzer sheets as well! Each box of 50 Sheets will set you back $3.49 USD which isn't too bad!

I love sticking these in my purse for super quick touch ups on the go or they'd be ideal for traveling since the airport bans virtually everything lately and sticking expensive make up in your check in baggage is not an option (at least for me it isn't)!

I tried the colors Flush and Radiance. Flush I didn't like and it looked rather bad on my skin however I do recommend it for darker tones. It's a shimmering deep mauve pink that ended up looking a bit muddy on my skin however it really made my sister glow when I tested it on her, she's about two or three shades darker than my own medium fair skin. The other shade that I tried was Radiance and that was fabulous on me! It's a bubblegum pink shade that almost mimics the look you can get from Benefit Posietint!

The moral of the story is you should probably head on over to the evil empire and check these out! The Muse is sorta impressed with the cute factor, ease of use and mess free application plus the price can't be beat considering we all have to board the beauty on a budget express train right now with the way the economy is sinking down around our ears!

The Muse sporting Radiance on her cheeks!

Not bad Mary Kate and Ashley...the Muse gives props for creating an interesting product!

Ran across these?

Tried 'em?

Would you be willing to try a blush in a sheet?

Isadora Holiday Collection 2008: IsaDora Diamond Ring with Gloss Review

The evil allure and temptation of IsaDora's Holiday Collection got me good! I found myself captivated by the gorgeous IsaDora Diamond Ring with Gloss....I guess what they say is true.....Diamonds (and gloss too!) are a girl's best friend!

I'm unsure if it was the sparkling Swarovski crystals or the gloss housed inside that captured my heart when I seen this glittering cocktail ring but I do know I'll be sporting it happily through the season, in fact I'm wearing it today! Why wait for the Holidays!?

The IsaDora Diamond Ring is a quite a heavy piece of jewelry! Don't be fooled into thinking that this is a wimpy little ring with a cute gloss thrown it! Far from it! The piece has a sterling silver quality and is quite a fashionable piece of custom jewelry! I'm a sucker for jewelry so this totally appeals to that side of my nature. The ring is an oval style triangle decorated with Swarovski crystals and baring the IsaDora name sake on it's side.

Wear it out for a bit of bling and slyly slip it open for gloss touch up on the go! The ring slides open to reveal a shimmering pink gloss to slick on lips on the fly!

As you can see it's difficult to resist all that shine, sparkle, and glimmer! Pairing up elegant jewelry and lipgloss.....total perfection! The Muse likey!

The IsaDora Holiday Collection 2008 has wormed it's way into my heart and I'll be indulging in further items very shortly! Look out for my review on the yummie palette soon!

Josie Maran Cosmetics Review and Swatches

A few weeks ago I had blogged about Josie Maran's new cosmetic collection and today I'm bringing you my review.

The collection was actually appealing to my eye as I liked the pink packaging that everything came in and as you know the Muse is a sucker for cute packaging. Honestly, that's what originally attracted me to the brand. After lusting after the sweet pink metallic compacts I decided I must try it for myself and see if the content is as good as the products! Today I'm bringing you a review of a few of the items in the collection and I think I'll be pursuing the line further so perhaps you'll see another review shortly as I was impressed with the few pieces I've tried so far!

First of all, good news for the green goddesses, Josie Maran cosmetics are very green friendly in both packaging and ingredients. The Muse is the first to admit she isn't always conscious of what goes onto her face however I do respect that many of you are so you'll be happy to know that a majority of Jose Maran Cosmetics are paraben-free, organic, and contain many natural, non toxic ingredients. The packaging is biodegradable and recyclable so the outside packaging is just as green friendly as what's inside it! You can find further information about the packaging, ingredients and more by clicking here.

Today I'm doing a round up review today of products I used to do one complete look. The look I created was a very simple, natural yet elegant work friendly face. I think a majority of the line creates a softer look so if you're yearning for a bolder look you may have to look elsewhere but if you love softer colors this should be exactly what you're looking for.

The shadows I've seen from the line range from soft shimmery powders to easily blendable matte shades. Yes, I know, shocking, matte shades that are easy to blend! What's the world coming too? But it's quite true! In the look I created I used Josie Maran Eyeshadow in Maple which is a soft matte brown. The texture is beautifully silky and smooth and it blends like a dream. I've never run across mattes that are easy to work with but this applied smoothly and blended in wonderfully. The shadow glides right onto the eye like butter and leaves behind nicely pigmented color!

To compliment my nude eye look I gave my cheeks a hint of natural color with Josie Maran Cream Blush in Sunrise. Sunrise is a very soft pink and comes in a weightless formula that glides on smoothly, absorbs into the skin easily, and leaves behind a soft, natural pop of color. I wish I had picked this blush up for the Summer as it would have been an ideal lightweight cream blush for the warmer weather!

In consideration of how light and fresh my look was turning out I thought a darker color of lipstick would be ideal so I used Josie Maran Lipstick in Devious to spice things up a little bit! The formula is lightweight and moisturizing while manging to keep a good healthy pigmentation when applied. Devious is possibly the truest red I own in my collection and I quite love how it complimented my natural face and eye look!

Since I'm ALWAYS on a concealer binge, I, of course, needed to try out Josie Maran Concealer for myself. Although I'm a self confessed hater of stick concealers this was actually an interesting little concealer. It's not smooth enough to be call moisturizing in all honestly however it still manages to have a certain thickness to it and staying power that I found interesting. It doesn't crease into fine lines or cake for that matter and it's a bit too drying for my already dry under eyes however this doesn't prevent me from actually liking it. It works well at hiding light to medium dark circles and it manages to stay exactly where you put it. It just sticks really well to the under eye area and doesn't move which I thought was a big plus and a redeeming quality considering it's not as moisturizing as I like my concealers to be! The color I choose was the lightest shade which is entitled Butter. Butter was slightly disappointing as it contained a healthy amount of beige and being the lightest shade available it still looked too dark for me however it actually does do a good job of freshening up my eyes and making me look awake as any good concealer should!

Here's my completed look using the products I just reviewed:

Swatches from Left to Right: Josie Maran Eye Shadow in Maple, Josie Maran Lipstick in Devious, Josie Maran Cream Blush in Sunrise, and Josie Maran Concealer in Butter

Overall, I liked the items I tried from Josie Maran cosmetics. I know I'll be going back for more shadows for sure as I loved the buttery smooth formula and I think I'll indulge in another cream blush for myself! I'm also very curious about the tinted moisturizer!
