WANT IT: Revlon Super Luxurious Lipstick

Here's something to get excited about. Check it.

I was recently reading the latest issue of W magazine, for the interesting articles of course and not just to peep at Bruce Willis's new wife's boobs, I'd never do that.

Anyway, I was reading happily away and came across an ad for Revlon Super Luxurious Lipstick.

Click to hear a babble or two about boobs and lipstick.

The advertisement has what's her name, wow her name escapes me right now, ummmmmm JESSICA ALBA! Phew, sorry brain fart. Right o, Jessica Alba was wearing the lipstick but that's not what's exciting. It was the shade. Whoa. Likey! She was wearing Revlon Super Luxurious Lipstick in Spicy Cinnamon and it screamed Fall to me. I got so excited I was willing to drop Emma Heming's boobs so I could go out to the drugstore and see if they had some of this shade in stock, loves it! Not the boobs, the lipstick.

Anyone see this ad?

Anyone have the shade?

The Muse wants it in her life please.

Beauty Most Unusual: Nightingale Droppings Facial Cream

Birds nest, crushed pearl powder, all of these are possibly different, unique Asian skincare techniques but Nightingale Droppings Facial Cream falls under the Beauty Most Unusual realm!

Bird poop in your moisturizer? They has it!

Check it after the jump!

I dunno about you but I'm not sure if I'm up for spreading bird sh..ahem...bird poop on my face. I've tried bird's nest and crushed pearl powder as I believe everything and anything that Asian's tell me about proper skincare but I may have to draw the line at Nightingale Droppings.

Supposedly the crap of a nightingale works as an incredible mask treatment for the skin by removing heavy makeup and leaving behind smooth and supple skin. Thankfully it's a fragrance free experience.

Alright, if I'm honest I admit I'm curious......

Now where can I find a nightingale do you think?

Lush Dark Angels Cleanser Review: Incredible!

The good word on Lush Dark Angels Cleanser is about to unfold oily skin chicas. Lush Dark Angels Cleanser is Lush's newest "breakaway" cleanser which is a mud scrub for oily skin types made of charcoal and rasshoul. I told you more about it in a prior post which you can see here.

I'm neither young, nor oily, nor dark skinned as recommended for users of Lush Dark Angels Cleanser however I am a Lush lover and that qualified me to purchase some and try it out!

Click to find out what I think.

I'm sorry but I suddenly feel the need to defend the fact that I'm about to review skincare. It's been said, if you listen to a whisper of news, that if I'm not a scientist or if I can't provide proper proof of my results with an item that I am not qualified to review it for you (another words my freedom of speech is being threatened). The fact is I must give you a disclaimer that no I'm not a scientist and the below results will vary.

Now that we got passed that boring stuff...on with the good stuff!

If you're a Lush lover you already know this but for the non Lush users allow me to explain the term "breakaway" cleanser. Lush makes several cleansers that are cut from a "roll" and sold by the pound, quarter slice, etc....these pieces are placed in tiny little containers and sold off to Lush fans far and wide by weight. They are entitled breakaway cleansers because you break off a tiny piece from the larger "roll" and proceed to use it. Thus Lush Dark Angels Cleanser falls into this category. To use it, you'll break off a small piece, mix it with a few drops of water, work it into a paste, and proceed to cleanse your face with it. Do keep in mind that I consider these cleansers a type of after treatment. Another words do remove all your makeup prior to "cleansing" with this. That's the way I like to do it and I think it's the best way.

Now....Dark Angels. Let's get to that review.

If you're familiar with Lush Coalface you'll love Dark Angels. It's basically the same product as far as I am concerned but it a different format. Coalface is a solid soap format where as Dark Angels is a breakaway cleanser formula. The difference between the two would be Dark Angels is far scrubbier. It has alot of little tiny, fine pieces of charcoal in it which makes a great dead skin scrub. This could prove a bit much for those with sensitive skin though. A little bit goes a long way and one little drops covers my entire face in black mud. It smells like a mix of charcoal and licorice which I find pleasant but some may find revolting.

The results....

One use makes my skin feel smoother, made it glow, and removed traces of oil. I tried it after a long day and my face was oily on the forehead and by the sides of my nose with dry spots on my cheeks. Although meant for younger, oilier, problem skin it successfully worked on the cocktail of combination skin I had going on. I was scared it would dry my skin out badly but it simply made it feel smoother and removed all traces of oil and dryness while leaving behind a nice healthy, glow. To say I was surprised is an understatement. I honestly though I'd end up drier than I already am after use but nope. If anything it made my skin smoother and more refined. This is of course after one use so I'll proceed to test further and see what happens so far I adore the results.

I imagine Dark Angels has the potential to have incredible results for anyone with oily skin. It seems like the ideal treatment for soaking up oil and mattifying skin. I suggest heading to Lush for a small, free sample and trying it out in the morning prior to a shower. Just wet your hands and work it into a paste and proceed to scrub it onto your face. Afterward step into the shower to rinse. This makes a big mess so it's best used this way rather than rinsing over a sink. It's also beneficial as you'll start your day with a nice matte skin thanks to the cleanser.

Lush Dark Angels Cleanser is so far a winner hands down for me. Pleasantly surprised by this little cleanser by Lush but really I shouldn't be surprised at all because Lush is ace in the skincare department as far as the Muse is concerned.

Loves it.

Anyone try yet?

Loving it?

Origins Gloomaway Body Souffle Review

Ok, wait, Origins Gloomaway is back by popular demand? That's what it says on the Origins site but I'm embarrassed to admit I've never even heard of it and thought it was a brand new collection.

Thank gawd I'm hearing about it now because it's awesomezzzzzzzz! FirePower!

Click it for a peep at Origins Gloomaway Grapefruit Body Souffle!

So far I've only tried out Origins Gloomaway Grapefruit Body Souffle but obviously I need to get to Origins quick and snap up the rest of this fine collection! Loves it!

Origins believes everyone needs a pick me up now and again and here you go products to make the gloom go away! I mean seriously who doesn't want products to liven up things and make the day seem brighter? What better blend than grapefruit, orange and mint to get things going when it's all about gloom sometimes.

Origins Gloomaway is the perfect blend of grapefruit, sweet orange, and mint. Honestly, I don't get the mint but damn straight the grapefruit and orange is in there and cocktail'ed into a fruity, sweet candy-like finish that's sure to please anyone who enjoys bright, sunny blends. The blend starts off with a tart almost sour note of grapefruit but blends into a candy-ish scent due to the sweet orange. A hint of mint can be detected for those with a stronger sense of smell but for the most part it's ever so subtle. It's difficult to explain but it's unique that's for sure and very, very pleasing. I think for the most part the combination of grapefruit and orange makes for a very sweet linger but dominant you'll get alot of orange. Anyway, the point is it's delightful and unique! Loves it!

Origins Gloomaway Body Souffle comes housed in this interesting little container. The bottom portion unscrews and you lift out the secondary container which has the moisturizer housed in it. For those of us liable to lose things this could be a problem as for me I just dig the packaging, dunno why but packaging tends to make me happy.

The souffle is heavily scented so it'll linger quite long once applied on skin. It's highly moisturizing and a luxurious cream, no skimping on this formula. It's ideal for knees, elbows, and legs as it offers a heavy dose of moisture and leaves behind a beautiful blend or grapefruit and orange.

If anything the souffle wet my appetite to try more of the collection. Other items releasing in the collection are as follows:

  • Gloomaway Grapefruit Body Mist ($25) This I have to have!
  • Gloomaway Grapefruit Gumballs ($5) Got these! Yum!
  • Gloomaway Grapefruit Body Wash & Bubble Bath ($21)
  • Gloomaway Grapefruit Body-Buffing Cleanser ($20)
  • Gloomaway Grapefruit Bath Bar ($13) Wants it!

For fun I also have a pack of the Origins Gloomaway Grapefruit Gumballs, yay chewable optimism for chasing away gloom and doom! They taste like tasty grapefruit and orange!

Nom, Nom!

Overall, I'm quite excited to explore this collection further. I tend not to get too excited about Bath and Body items outside of Lush but this had me at first sniff. Loving it. It's worthy of a sniff at your local Origins counter. But be warned you might become as addicted as I am.

Now I'm busy wishing for a bad day so I can chase it away with Gloomaway!

Anyone sniff this yet?

Do share!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

L'Oreal Extra Gentle 2-in-1 Buck's Berrydactyl Shampoo

The Muse is terribly childish, believe me she knows this, but today when L'Oreal Extra Gentle 2-in-1 Buck's Berrydactyl Shampoo popped in my mailbox I got terribly excited. As you know I'm a fond fan of detoxing my locks with baby shampoo but for the most part I was just excited about the art of the bottle featuring Buck from the new Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs film in theaters July 1st.

What?

I'm a big kid at heart!

Along with Buck's Berrydactyl Shampoo, L'Oreal is also releasing Ellie's Orangesaurus, Diego's Man Eating Melon, and Sid's Pineapple Shampoo. Yes, I want to collect all the scents...particularly the orange and pineapple!

A while ago I wrote an article about clarifying your hair with kid's and baby shampoo you can see that article here. Buck will aid me in getting my hair squeaky clean with a bit of a berry scent to go with it plus he's cheap as day old chips with a price tag of $2.99 or less. Likey.

Ok, end childish post.

You may proceed to share your thoughts about Ice Age, kid's shampoo, or other babblings in the comment field.

I'm a listening!

Bobbi Brown Fall Collection 2009: Bobbi Brown Fall Nudes Collection

I've never been much for nude makeup until I got on board with many of Bobbi Brown's palettes. Last year with the release of the Bobbi Brown Shimmering Nudes Palette the Muse experienced neutral, nude shades like she's never done before and loved it too!

Fall comes early this year when Bobbi introduces her new Fall Nudes Collection in July.

Check it out below!

This July, Bobbi Brown Fall Nudes Collection launches with a new limited edition eye palette that features eye shadow duos in a sophisticated and flattering selection of shades and finishes. The shadow duos come in customizable three pan palettes which can be filled with your choice of color options and items.

Also introduced is a brand new shade of Bobbi's popular Shimmer Brick in Nude Shimmer which features pink, gold, bronze, beige, and caramel.

The collection also includes gel liner and creamy lip color to compliment the Bobbi Brown Nude Palette and Bobbi Brown Nude Shimmer Brick.

All the items will be available from Bobbi's site and at counters starting in July.

As I mentioned I'm not one for nudes but Bobbi has a knack for making nudes exciting and different. I look forward to seeing the shimmer brick and eye palette in person.

Anyone excited about this release?

Wanting to haul it?

More News On The Balm Cabana Boy

Alright, I admit I'm a little obssessed with Cabana Boy. Sue me. My last update I was biatchin' about the fact that the Balm refused to take my phone calls or return 'em. They obviously caught on that I'm stalkin' their site and Sephora's for any word on Cabana Boy.

Anyway.

That brings me to the fact that I got a little carried away and started googlin' Cabana Boy in my spare time. It's rather sad when you're googling and trying to locate something and all the links that pop up for said searched item are pointing to your own website. Sigh.

After a little hard work, FINALLY (after weeding through my own numerous posts that popped up on google), I located someone selling Cabana Boy. Chocolate Lotus, whom I've never heard of, has the Balm Cabana Boy in stock! Bless be.

Not so blessed be.

They are on vacation and not shipping until July 13?

I swear I must have seriously pissed off the gods somehow because something is preventing me from buying this bloody powder.

I'll keep you in the know as news progresses as the saga of Cabana Boy continues, that is if you aren't already bored hearing about it 100 times already. I won't rest until I have it in my greedy hands!

Lush 13 Soap (Unlucky for Dirt)

Only Lush would think it would be a good idea to combine oregano with rose. Is it me or does that somehow remind you of pizza for some odd reason or another?

Lush 13 Soap is a mix of rose and oregano and gets it's name from a 1931 film about soap. I looked that up and didn't see anything about it but I think I'd love a movie about soap...or cosmetics...or shower gels...hmmmm.

Lush 13 Soap is made with oregano because it supposedly kills MRSA bacteria, I dunno about that but from what I'm hearing from Lush fans it smells heavenly. But do go right ahead and count me skeptical...I'm still thinking pizza...must be the oregano.

It's available now from Lush UK and soon after I'm sure it'll come visit our side of the pond where we can enjoy it with pizza.

If you could create a Lush soap what ingredients would you use?

10 MAC Lip Glosses You Should Own

Somehow, someway MAC Lipgloss wiggled it's way into my heart. My first try with MAC gloss was a nightmare and I ended up hating it for ever after because of the terribly sticky, tacky formula. As you know I've since made peace with the formula and even give it props for being tacky enough to stay in place for hours at a time.

I'm now the pride owner of one too many MAC lip glosses. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Who knows but the fact remains I can't get enough of them and I look forward to new shades with each release.

Check out my list below fro 10 MAC Lip Gloss shades I think you should own or at least consider adding to your collection!

MAC glosses come and go through my life as collections release. The shades you see above are ones that stick out in my mind and I consider favorites! The Muse thinks you should think about adding one or two of these colors to your collection, loves 'em!

Anyone own any of these shades?

What are some MAC gloss shades that stick out in your mind?

Product Musings: Milani Runway Eyes Wet Dry Eye Shadow in Beach Sand

It's been a while since we product mused together hasn't it? Today I'm musing about the joys of Milani Runway Eyes in Beach Sand!

Check it after the jump.

I hauled Milani Runway Eyes Wet Dry Eyeshadow in every shade a while ago and I'm always so delighted by the quality of these shadows. Great pigmentation, a gorgeous yet subtle sparkle, and a pretty price tag keeps me a happy Muse indeed.

As Summer comes forth I'm reaching for the shade Beach Sand daily. It's name is ever so fitting and complimenting of it's shade as truly it reminds me of the golden sparkling sands of a beach on a hot day. Such a gorgeous shade of sparkling golden beige to compliment a Summer bronze look or to light up your eyes with just the minimal amount of makeup!

Beach Sand is gorgeous in both color, finish, and it's beauty on a budget price makes it even better!

Does Milani Runway Eyes Wet Dry Eye Shadow in Beach Sand grace anyone's collection?

Loving it?
