Happy Holidays from the Muse!

Christmas sure did get away from me this year! I can't believe it's here already. I blinked and it arrived. I guess as we get older it tends to creep up rather quickly where as when we were kids it took years to arrive.

We've been through alot together haven't we? It's almost two year's since I started this little blog and to this day I'm amazed that anyone even bothers coming over to visit and read my insane little babblings.

Thanks.

Thanks for reminding me that I'm actually not talking to myself most days but a rather large bunch of readers...actually not so much readers but more along the lines of friends.

From my Tardis...errr...sorry from my home to yours have a very, very Happy Holiday Season filled with joy, friends, family, warmth, and love.

The Muse wishes you the very best for a wonderful holiday to you and yours!

Cheers!

Stila Eyes & Shine Smudge Pot Trio Review

It's not too late! There's still time left to head to Sephora and snatch up a few good gifts for friends and family!

Considering that New Year's is next week you might want to indulge in Stila Eyes & Shine Smudge Pot Trio which contains three smudge pots for $32 USD. At around $10 USD per a pot the Muse is liking this good deal for an elegantly lined eye look for New Year's Eve (and day) parties and gatherings!

Stila's Eyes & Shine Smudge Pot Trio contains three gel eyeliners in black, bronze, and gray. Although most makeup addicts claim MAC Fluidline is the go to product for liner the Muse begs to differ. She finds that fluidline applies streaky and she hates having to go back and re-line as it creates more of a mess! The formula of Stila Smudge Pots applies precisely, easily, and mess free the first time, every time, no re-lining required. As per their name they smudge beautifully well to create that perfect smoked out look plus they make a wonderful base for shadows if you choose.

I thought including three smudge pots in one kit was quite a nice value and I think it makes a rather cute little stocking stuffer or come on who can resist getting it for yourself right? You know you wants it!

Snag your set at Sephora or visit www.stilacosmetics.com

What are your fav potted liners?

If you're look for a nice, natural, paraben-free lip treatment you might want to try out Yes to Carrots Lip Butter. These are pretty much the same concept as your normal run of the mill chapstick but the formula is vastly different. It deserves to be mentioned I'm not a big fan of chapstick because I hate the waxy feel. The good news is that these have a superior formula to chapstick. They are soft, moisturizing, and glide nicely onto the lips protecting them from the harsh winter weather and preventing them chapping, drying out, and cracking. Of course the key selling point being the natural good for you ingredients and the paraben-free formula.

Now the Muse hates choosing so she's happy she doesn't have to choose with the Yes to Carrots Frosty Loves C Lip Butter Gift Set! The set includes three tasty selections to choose from. You'll get Mint, Berry, and Carrot all tucked into a cute box decorated with a little snowman!

Avon Advanced Techniques Anti-Frizz Capsules Review

Granted it's not like she minds in the least to have hair comparable to Einstien but she's come to the conclusion that old Albert could work this look where as the Muse on the other hand can not.

In my quest for all things cheap lately (you know we haz to be cheap with the economy and such) I discovered Avon Advanced Techniques Anti-Frizz Capsules aka weird little capsules that look like the latest street drug.

Although a majority of the time nothing touches my hair outside of Lush haircare and a few select e-tailer brand shampoos and conditioners I decided to shrug off my snotty little nature and try out Avon Advanced Techniques Anti-Frizz Capsules. Honestly, anything that promises to tame the frizz is always a welcome addition to my haircare regime. My hair is long, it's wavy, it's curly, and without proper care it does look quite like I stuck my hand into the nearest socket.

Surprisingly these little capsules do exactly what they promise which is tame the evil frizz. The price is one of the key selling points as for $2.99 USD it's quite a nice steal. You'll get 18 capsules which you'll either use one or two of or more if you're really having a frizzy kinda day. I used one and my hair was nice and soft afterward, frizz-free, shiny, and didn't feel weighted down. My main concern when using new haircare is how it'll weight my hair down. My hair is currently silicon free thanks to Lush so I take extra care when using anything else as once I reintroduce silicons or other additives into my hair it starts to misbehave. I was pleasantly surprised that merely one capsule which contains 3, 4 drops of serum at the most banished my frizzes and made my hair nice and soft.

If you're looking for something cheap that won't weight your hair down and will zap your frizzes I highly suggest checking this out. Not a bad deal on the price plus it delivers on the promise of frizz-free hair! I'm on the bandwagon for a re-purchase once I run out!

MAC Dame Edna Collection Photos

'ello possums!

Looking to be as glam as that foxy little minx Dame Edna? I mean seriously who doesn't simply adore her crash lilac hair and sparkling dresses!

Get cheeky with the MAC Dame Edna Collection after the jump!

I must admit that the MAC Dame Edna Collection definitely holds way more of my interest and attention than the MAC Hello Kitty Collection. I'm simply in love with the lilac packaging! Although the trio color selections aren't exactly what I'd have liked to see (too similar to shades released already) I can't deny they are quite Dame Edna themed to say the least. I'm particularly thrilled with the lippies and glosses in this color story as they look quite lovely. The beauty powders as well have caught my eye although I have heard stories that they are chalky but I'm not minding in the least and if worst comes to worst I can always pop them up and replace with my own pressed powder so I can enjoy the lovely lilac packaging!

All in all I see myself hauling a majority if not all of this collection! I really like the looks of it!

How about you?

Love it?

Not so much?

Isadora Diamond Eye Shadow Palette Review, Swatches, and FOTD

It's that time of the year when the Muse is all about frosty shimmering shades. The snow is laying on the ground outside and the wind is blowing so hard it feels like it'll knock you clear off your feet so hues of frosty white, peach, blue and purple are definitely in style today.

I think an icy, cool look a la the Ice Queen for the Holidays is so very chic and fitting with both the season and the weather!

Let me show you the perfect palette for creating a gorgeous shimmering Ice Queen look that's sure to be a hit this season!

The Isadora Dazzling Diamond Collection totally caught my eye this season due to it's gorgeous packaging and shimmering shades. Of course the Isadora Diamond Eye Shadow Palette ended up on my hit list right away with it's gorgeous mirrored compact design and five cool, frosty shades of shadow. The Muse can't resist all that goodness!

The palette contains five shades of extremely soft, silky, pigmented shadows that include frosty blue, shimmering white, sparkling peach, and two shades of purple. All the shades would be wholeheartedly approved by the Ice Queen herself I'm sure. I loved the finish of the shadows and they are like nothing I've ever tried before formula-wise in the eyeshadow world. They are quite light and soft with nice pigmentation however they do crease a fair bit so proper prepping prior to application is required to avoid a mess later in the day. I noticed the shades work best on their own and not combined with other colors in the palette. They blend nicely however when applying two or more shades you end up with a fair bit of a muddy look. Personally I think they look best on their own anyway so in keeping with that theme you'll end up with five separate looks from the one palette.

The palette's design is just as gorgeous as what it holds. The compact is a complete mirror design with Isadora's logo on the top lid. This does cause major fingerprint problems but I simply wipe off with a soft cloth after I've used it and it's back to it's gorgeous self again!

At a tiny price tag of $21 USD I think that the palette is well worth picking up! I loved the cool look the shadows created and think they are quite flattering for not only the upcoming Holiday but also the cooler weather!

All in all the Isadora Diamond Eye Shadow Palette is definitely a nice little item to tuck into your stocking this season!
