Too Faced Fall Collection 2009: Too Faced Natural Eye Palette Review and Swatches

Last year I fell in love with the Too Faced Smoky Eye Palette and this year isn't any different with the introduction of the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette, incredible, truly a fabulous palette and a killer deal!

I've been known to hate all over a natural, nude eye look but my tastes have evolved since I started this little site and with those changes came the revelation that I do enjoy a natural eye look. With a total of nine shades, three tutorials, and a brush, all packaged together, Too Faced Natural Eye Palette arms you with just about everything you'll need to create three natural, nude looks or any number of looks using the nine shades. This style palette is ideal for anyone who either loves neutrals or isn't so handy with eye shadow application. It's ease of use and nifty little tutorial cards make it's a snap to create a flawless eye look sans drama.








The palette is a sweet flip top box with full size mirror and pull out draw with one dual applicator that includes a sponge on one side and a liner brush on the other. As per my rant last year I will say that I hate they don't include at least three sponges with the kit as it would be great to use one brush per shadow look. The kit also includes a sleeve which houses three little business card size tutorials with three simple steps for creating a Day, Fashion, and Classic Eye look. The instructions are simple and easy to understand and for the most part one sentence tells you what to do. Believe me if I can follow the instructions you'll be able to without any problem. The instructions make it very easy to create dramatic neutral looks that are beautifully flattering for Fall.






The shades in the palette are as follows:

Day Look
Heaven (Matte Cream)
Velvet Revolvor (Matte Nude)
Sexpresso (Matte Brown












To create the Day Look you simply sweet Heaven all over the line and blend Velvet Revolver into the crease to contrast. Finish the look by blending Sexpresso on the upper and lower lash line for a smudged out liner effect. The results of the completed look are a work friendly subtle neutral eye look.

Fashion Look
Nude Beach (Shimmering Beige Peach)
Honey Pot (Coppery Bronze)
Cocoa Puff (Shimmering Golden Brown)












When compared to Day, Fashion Look is considerably more dramatic. To create the look you'll be using nude Beach as a high brow highlighter and blended into the crease. Follow up with Honey Pot patted on the inner lid and around the tear duct and complete with Cocoa Puff blended on the out lid, crease, and upper and lower lash lines. Although completely work friendly, Fashion Look manages to have the drama of a night time look as well!

Classic Look
Silk Teddy (Nude Shimmering Peach)
Push-Up (Light Shimmering Brown)
Erotica (Grayish Brown with Golden Sparkle)














The Classic Look is probably the most dramatic of all the looks with a blend of bronze and brown to create a very smoky, nude look. To achieve the look you'll blend Silky Teddy from crease to brow and gently press Push Up onto the lid. Follow up by smudging Erotica on crease and lower lashes.

All three looks are very pretty and flattering on my brown eyes. It's fun following the card step by step but nothing is stopping you from using the shades individually or combined to create any number of looks. Nine shadows is alot of color so I'm sure you can let your imagination run wild to create some other interesting looks. All the shadows in the palette are brilliantly pigmented and rich in texture. Finishes range from shimmery, matte, to velvet and blend like a dream.

Overall, the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette is an absolute steal at $34 and a Fall must have for creating natural or dramatic eye popping looks. I really love this one and I'm deeply impressed. Quite a great little palette for not only makeup amateurs and beginners but also those who are well versed in makeup application.

Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Candlelight Review and Swatches

Oh I fancy myself some gold shimmer. Gold is such a good color for me and so flattering. Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Candlelight is part of the Too Faced Fall Collection 2009 and one of my favorite items released. A pretty little compact filled with powder candlelight is just what ever girl needs in their life.

Housed in a cream and gold compact this finely milled, sheer golden powder has a hint of shimmer to deliver a lit from within finish to skin. The powder is ideal for sweeping on cheekbones and face for a subtle little kiss of gold. It works a treat on bare moisturized skin to illuminate skin with a natural finish. The powder easily multitasks as a great way to brighten up eyes or the brow bones too. It's also packed with a dose of skin-saving antioxidants to help protect and sooth tired skin as it warms and illuminates your complexion.














I'm all about gold so this has much of my attention. It's a rather universally flattering shade that works well right now in the Summer, will remain looking fabulous as the Fall and cooler weather approaches, and will be ideal for the holidays when I want a brush of gold across my face.




Truly a great little palette for illuminating and brightening up my complexion for a soft, romantic glow.

Too Faced Fall Collection 2009: Too Faced Primed and Poreless Review

The Too Faced Fall Collection 2009 zoomed onto shelves very early at Sephora so early in fact it's not even updated on their site as of yet. It's quite a selection of goodies one item in particular is really outstanding (that review is coming in a few). For now let me tell you that Too Faced joins in on all the primer games this season with a brand new primer of it's own. Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer is the first facial primer that the company has had in it's collection to my knowledge. Interestingly enough it's also the most unique primer I've come across as it comes in a beige shade that seems to even out my skin tone a tad bit.

We all probably share at least one thing in common, a desire for flawless skin. Proper prepping and priming is key to creating a good working canvas for making and achieving a flawless, perfect look.

Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer aids you on your quest for perfect skin nirvana with an interesting primer formulated to wear under bronzers, foundations, and powders to keep skin radiant and fresh. The primer pretty much mimics the formula of many popular primers today with a silicon-like base that dries down to a powdery finish. Unlike many primers like this it doesn't make me itchy, doesn't make me feel like I have a mask on, and doesn't pill. I'm still not the biggest fan in the world of silicon or silicon feeling primers but I'm trying to find the joy in them.






Even though it feels like a typical primer it's actually a bit different in one case. This one case is in fact what I think makes it special. The primer is a translucent beige shade that somewhat evens out my skin tone. It's considered colorless and invisible for the most part but I felt like it not only smoothed my skin but also evened out my complexion slightly.




The primer glides onto my face without looking or feeling heavy and mask-like. I can't speak for filling pores as my pores are non existent but I think it'll make a perfect filler. It allows my foundation particularly powder to apply easily with little fuss. I didn't notice any extended wear for my foundation but it does keep my foundation fresh without it oxidizing quickly.

All in all a very good primer and worthy of a check out. Too Faced Primed and Porless is $30 and is available now from Sephora.

Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Mist Review

I hate the beach. Sorry. Since I hate the beach it's impossible to get beach hair. Beach hair seems absolutely essential to Summer and if I don't have beach hair I might not be "in"....I must have beach hair at any cost!

Ok..dramatic I know but seriously. I don't do beaches...sand, sea weed, etc...if God had meant for us to thread around on hot sand, wade in salt water, and have the sun beating on our heads, he'd have given us fins at the very least dontcha think?

Beach hair seems to be the in thing during the Summer months. That slightly damp, mussed up look a la the Little Mermaid. You know hawt tresses that look like you dived into the ocean, spread out on a beach towel, and let the wind dry out your salt laden hair to perfection. Who knew that the beach could do good things for your hair right?


If you aren't a lover of the beach but still desire the hair that goes along with a trip to the shore peep at my review below!

Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Mist is awesome hair in a bottle sans the beach. A cocktail of sea salt, extracts of algae, orchid, Tahitian gardenia, aloe vera, oils of kukui and coconut and possible a little bit of sand (ok I made the sand part up) gives tresses texture, body, bounce, volume, and hold for that beach worthy look you're craving.




God this stuff smells incredible. Can't we has sniff o' vision on the Interwebz? I'll talk to Al Gore and see what we can arrange, the mighty guru of Internet creation. I wish I can explain the scent to you but it's a bit complex...think fresh, think slightly floral, think...the beach...Maui with a little wowie thrown in there. Loves it!

So what's it do?

Take your slightly damp hair (or dry but damp gets the best results in my humble opinion) and mist a bit of Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Mist onto your locks. Don't comb it through just scrunch it gently if you like or flip it upside down and shake (this works a treat plus you'll feel like you're in some shampoo or styling commercial). That's about it...the results are bouncy, textured locks, with a bit of volume that simply makes you look like you just bounced off the sand.

Beach hair easy and mess free in a bottle plus no sand in unusual places!
