To wrap up the week today I'll be reviewing the Harajuku Lovers Fragrance G which is my very favorite scent from the collection!

Never one to get lost in the crowd, G leads her crew in a white, corseted top and a blue miniskirt á la Alice in Wonderland. Quirky, unique, and undeniably cool, G is the leader of the pack. Her scent is an oriental, fruity, gourmand fragrance with notes of fresh coconut, jasmine, and cotton woods.

Although G has some sincerely amazing notes like Mandarin, Jasmine Sambac, Sandalwood and Coconut. Personally the Muse gets toasty coconut as the most dominant note so toasty in fact that she wants to roll around in it! The scent is quite tropical and gorgeous! It's a creamy coconut blend with hints of jasmine and floral. Although the coconut is the most dominant note you can get certain whiffs of unique, exotic secondary notes like the jasmine and sandalwood. It's really a rather warm fragrance that makes me think of the warm, humid Summer! G is on top of my favorite list so I love anything that has tropical aspects to it. I recommend G if you like your blends warm and fun.

I'm kinda sad to end these posts as I was having so much fun reviewing them! I hope that Gwen will introduce us to a brand new lot of fragrances really soon as I totally adored all of the Harajuku Lovers Fragrances and each girl had something unique and special to offer! All the scents are Muse Approved for purchase! You should def check 'em out for yourself!

Visee Glam Hunt Palette Review

The Muse is a bit tired of all the holiday coverage! It's the end of the week and she isn't really up for doing more holiday collections and just feels like concentrating on the lovely Fall weather and maybe a Fall collection too!

How about you?

I've had the Visee Fall Collection for a while now but haven't had a chance to take advantage of it but this week I decided to crack open both and give them a whirl. The new Glam Hunt Palettes are quite different from previous releases from Visee but have no fear they are just as good. I was playing at being a good Muse so I only ordered two of the five color combinations released.

I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the Visee Glam Hunt Palettes as I do have a love affair with the Visee Jewel Crush Eyes Palettes and as I mentioned these are vastly different. Although the Glam Hunt Palettes contain some shimmer it's not a whole lot when compared to previous palette releases from Visee.

The Glam Hunt Palettes have five strips of color that you'll be using on various parts of your eye. I always find it interesting that the directions for application instruct you to use the lightest shade of shadow on the crease instead of the lid. I normally contrast my shades of shadow by applying a darker shade to the crease and a lighter shade to my lid however most Japanese brands recommend contrasting them in the opposite way!

The shades included in the palettes are two contrasting shades of eyeshadow, one liner shade, one base shade, and a sparkling powder which can be used in the inner corner of the eye to add a bit of sparkle and shine to your look! The palettes I got were G1 and G4. G1 consists of green shades which are comparable to my favorite KATE Glamtrick Eye Palette GN-1 and the G4 palette contains dusky rose shades. Out of the two palettes G1 was my favorite simply because I really adore how a smoked out green eyeshadow look makes my eyes sizzle! The G4 is very nice as well but I thought the liner shade made my eyes look slightly tired.

G4

G1

The shadows are all quite pigmented and blend wonderfully well. I thought the formula and texture was comparable to KATE palettes. As I mentioned above these are considerably different from the palettes you've seen Visee release before and I'm hoping they'll actually continue with the line as it's quite good.

All in all I thought the Visee Glam Hunt palettes were quite nice with a good selection of Fall friendly colors. I'm not Muse Approving for them purchase simply because they are quite similiar to many Japanese brand palettes you might already own! If you don't have a considerable stash of Japanese palettes I do recommend trying these out as they are quite lovely!

More Musings of Edward Cullen

It's getting to be that special time of the month soon kids! The 21st is around the corner and the Muse and many of her friends (even my newly converted sister) are very eager for the date to arrive! I told my sister she has to be on Team Jacob teehee the Muse be evil but there are just TOO many Team Edward players! Sorry the Muse wants the Edward all for herself! Get ye to the Team Jacob field!

Last Sunday morning my friend Jai, Kenningston, Jenn, Kira and myself hauled ass to Torrid, Hot Topic, and anywhere else in the Mall that had Twilight gear. We ended up snatching up several T-Shirts, patches, totes, and various other paraphernalia which we proceeded to take home and chop up over Sunday brunch to make several hoodies with. But of course the Muse is a Team Edward player so her hoodie is all ABOUT Edward!

I'm not going to show you how it came out just yet as I'm still working on it but be prepared for the unveiling soon! My best friend Jai is also a Team Edward player and his hoodie came out particularly brilliant with sequins and other glittery bits and bobs. Gotta love the dazzle and Edward right?

The moral of the story is that you don't have to get too particularly crazy and start making hoodies out of chopped up t-shirts when you can get some already made at Cafe Press! The Muse seen some seriously awesome stuff on the site and highly suggest skipping over for a lookiee and a purchase for the big night! Users got really creative with some of the gear available for sale and some items made me laugh! Gotta love the rabid fan girls right? I mean there are over 130,000 designs at Cafe Press....You. Gotta. Love. That.

CLICK to visit the Twilight Cafe Press!

Here's some that caught my eye in particular:

'Nuff Said!

Yup, yup the Muse's shopping list is already changed to reflect the ravishing of Edward! She'll save you the leftovers!

Yes, I wonder that on occasion...can't help myself the Cullen's have changed the way I view baseball!

Only in Edward's case!

The Muse is a car/motorcycle person and totally appreciates the cracky Volvo fun!

For those of you who just can't decide!

Love Edward as a little kawaii manga!

Awwww....sniff...so romantic!

The moral of this story is that the Muse is a sad, old fan girl! Hehe and loving it too! Cheers to my rabid fan girls and hope for the best as the Muse is slightly worried it won't live up to all the hype but at least we can relieve it in our imaginations!

Remember kids, all good things Twilight, Edward, and Cullen is Muse Approved!

Harajuku Lovers Baby Review

Nobody puts Baby in the corner!

Well smack my forehead that's totally the wrong Baby isn't it?

Oh, how the mighty have fallen! That's the wrong Baby too!

Actually the Muse will give you some relief from all the bad Baby references by presenting you with a review of the Harajuku Girls Fragrance Baby!

Happy?

This week the Muse has been happily going through each of the new Harajuku Girl Fragrances for you! If you haven't already best head over to my contest and enter to win a Harajuku Girls Solid Perfume Coffret!

Squee!

Now Baby is exactly what you'd come to expect from a scent named so. She's smells exactly like a baby! Soft, powder fresh, and sweet!

One bat of her lashes and Baby has all the boys in the palm of her hand! Pretty in pink, Baby steps out in a short baby doll dress and sweet Mary Janes. Her scent is a powdery floral with notes of white rose, orange flower, and white musk.

Don't get confused by her notes of white rose, orange flower, and musk because honestly she's a purely powder scent and holds no notes of floral for me. Although the sound of a powder fresh scent may be slightly off putting for some I think it's a rather fresh, clean smell that anyone can appreciate. Baby also happens to linger quite strongly for such a soft smell! She sweet and she's clean and she holds that special flirty fun feel that all the Harajuku Lovers Fragrances have in common!

The Muse liked this one alot! Although Music and G remains her favorite Baby falls closely behind! By the way I actually discovered a "baby" who loves Love! Meet Mylee who's mum runs Wake Up to Makeup! Mylee obviously thinks Love is super! Who thinks we should just give Mylee the coffret because she's just so bloody cute!

See I wasn't lying when I said Love was awesome!

Tried this?

Love it?

Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Be Weil Collection Review

Ok so whoa.

I totally had an enlightening experience when I got home from work today. Yes, occasionally these things occur for the Muse. I straightened my halo and skincare enlightenment was mine but only temporarily as I'm sure tomorrow I'll be doomed again but for now I'm in my special place and experiencing nirvana.

Muse! Muse! How did you become enlightened?

So you know how I'm a total creature of habit when it comes to my skincare? Lush Cosmetics for this Muse all the way! Today I broke that rule when I started playing around with Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Be Weil Collection...dontcha love it? Be Weil? Ha! The corny factor makes me giggle myself silly. The Muse is easily amused to say the least.

First off I completely adore Origins offhanded marketing on Dr. Andrew Weil! It appeals to the Muse's sense of humor and actually makes me look at the products in a new light.

Here's a picture of Dr. Andrew Weil and Origins proceeds to ask on it's website What does a 66 year old man with a white beard know about beauty?

You now have my attention Origins! Aside from looking like Santa I'm thinking Dr. Weil probably knows next to nothing about this Muse's beauty regime....turns out I'm wrong and he's right. He does know a thing or two about beauty...skincare in particular.

Dr Weil doesn't only look like Santa but he's also giving skincare away like Santa! The new Origins Be Weil Collection is chock full of awesome products all in full sizes and all for $79.50 USD! It's a New Year soon and you may be looking for a new skincare regime or you might be immune to your old one so here in lays a great excuse to try something new and at a really great price tag.

I normally avoid doing skincare reviews until I tried said items for a few weeks or months but I seriously couldn't resist blogging this because at first touch, first sniff, and first look I kinda got the vibe this could be a good one.

Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Be Weil Collection includes all of the following products:

  • Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Face Cleanser 1.7 oz
  • Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Conditioning Lip Balm with Turmeric
  • Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Body Cream 4 oz
  • Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Face Serum 1 oz
  • Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Face Cream 1 oz

I know the entire Mega-Mushroom thing sounds kinda weird. I was thinking along the lines of this:

But I promise it's not strange at all! The entire line has a wonderfully pleasant herbal scent and an incredible texture ad formula. One of the main things that really caught and held my interested was how well all of the lotions, creams, and serums in the collection effortlessly glided and absorbed into my skin. The formula is outstanding in that aspect and really felt pleasing and cooling on my skin. I can't do a more detailed review of each item as of yet but I will once I've used them for a spell so today I'll just give you the bare bones of each product and what it's used for.

The Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Face Serum sounds like an absolute dream for all skin types.

Do you have skin sensitivity? Extreme dryness? Redness? Hyperpigmentation? Lines? Wrinkles? Puffiness? Are you a flusher-blusher? All of these diverse skin conditions have something in common, what Dr. Weil calls “the fire within.” Sometimes it’s barely perceptible, but it’s there, proceeding unnoticeably until it sets into motion a cascade of unwanted events.

Of course extreme dryness caught my eye and I can picture this calming my dry skin and creating a nice layer of protection against harsh winter weather! It seems an ideal item for use after my regular nice cream for added moisture. I'm looking forward to testing it out further.

The Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Face Cream also sounds amazing and as I mentioned above it sinks into skin so easily!

This remarkable face cream with Hypsizygus ulmarius and Chaga mushrooms immediately helps quiet and calm skin. By mirroring the amazing process that sends Narcissus Lily Bulbs into dormancy as a means of “self-protection”, it signals skin to conserve its energy to optimize its defenses against age accelerators. Skin has the ability to maintain a stronger, healthier, more youthful appearance. This patented technology is further supported by Menyanthus and Heather extracts to keep skin firm; Fucoidan from Okinawan seaweed to discourage moisture loss and Vitamins C and E to defend against destructive oxidation.

I've already used the Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Face Cleanser tonight but I do need to test further before giving my full review. Here's what the site has to say about it:

This extremely gentle, milky lotion cleanser features a proprietary, signature blend – Hypsizygus ulmarius, Cordyceps and Reishi Mushrooms, Ginger, Turmeric and Holy Basil – as well as skin soothing Bisabolol from Chamomile and Licorice Extract. It quickly removes makeup, dirt, debris and impurities without upsetting skin's naturally protective lipid balance and keeps even highly sensitive or reactive skin calm throughout the cleansing process.

For your body you'll want to try out the Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Body Cream, again totally love this since it glides on and absorbs so wonderfully! It's soft, fluffy, and simply sinks in upon contact with the skin! My knees and elbows are thanking me at the moment!

This intensely emollient cream with my signature blend of Hypsizygus ulmarius, Reishi and Cordyceps Mushrooms, Ginger, Turmeric and Holy Basil, along with Larch Tree Extract, wraps skin in deeply satisfying moisture. Natural “skin-identical” lipids including Murumuru, Shea, Cocoa and Cupuacu butters help reseal skin’s vulnerable surface against incoming irritants. Skin is completely comfortable and its vital barrier is well-protected against potential damage.

And lastly the Plantidote Conditioning Lip Balm which looks like a great little stick to have around come the colder weather when the Muse's lips start cracking and chapping!

This highly emollient lip healer with Turmeric, Cocoa Butter, Jojoba, Sunflower and Sesame Seed Oils, Muru Muru and Candillila seriously helps heal dryness and relieve roughness. Rapidly restores softness and smoothness to overly parched lips.

Overall, I do have to say I'm pretty impressed and that's saying alot considering how picky I am about skincare. I highly recommend checking out Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Be Weil Collection as it's quite an interesting selection of good quality items. I'll be doing a deeper review of each item after I've used them for few weeks but if what I seen so far is anything to go on I'd say I should be a happy camper. I'm currently debating and I think I may indulge in two more sets as gifts for friends as you can't go wrong for the price taking into consideration the size of each item. I'm actually making a good excuse to do an order because the Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Eye Serum has caught my eye and you know how the Muse is on an epic journey to discover the very best eye cream around!

I'm really feeling this one and although I haven't done a deep enough review to warrant it I'm sticking a Muse Approval on it just for the value alone and the formula which impressed me on touch!

Do check it out at www.origins.com or at your local Origins counter!
