Pout Shimmer Swirls

Summer is coming to an end but it hasn't stopped my hardcore lemming for Pout's Shimmer Swirls!

How yummie are these?

They haven't yet made their way to our US shores but the UK online shop and stores have them available!

I've already begun bugging my very English boyfriend to look for them in his neck of the woods ;)

These are, of course, on the wish list!

theBalm Overshadow

OooooOoooooOooo! Something else to get excited about! theBalm has been amazing me with it's nifty little here and there releases for the past year or so! They have outdone themselves with these! These are a bit of shimmering powder that can be used anywhere (body, eyes, cheeks, etc...) but they are recommended for spicing up your shadows! Apply your own shadow, apply Overshadow for a bit of sparkle and shimmer! Takes the ordinary to the extraordinary!

You know how I feel about sparkle!

These are definately a WANT item!

Love 'em? Comment box at the ready!

Cosmetic Storage Solutions!

For some odd reason or another my cosmetics storage blog never made the move over from mySpace to blogger!

It's gone and gotten lost! Oh my!

A few people have been asking after it on youTube so here it is!

--------------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys!

Before I go to bed I wanted to post some quickie pics!

MANY MANY MANY of you asked about my storage cabinets and such after viewing my video blog and I wanted to do a few pics and some info about them!

Someone had asked if they were custom made, others messaged me asking where I got my draws, etc....!

So this is basically a blog answering everyone's questions :)

Again, thanks so much for viewing this! I really just do it for my own entertainment and I'm utterly flattered when people actualy read what I type here!

Many of you also asked me what I do with cosmetics I'm currently not using! The videos I did are items I use mostly everyday! Anything I don't use I store in rubbermaid bins in my closet! I have three, 4 draw bins in my closet that contain older palettes and make-up bits I've collected over my entire lifetime!

Sadly, some of these storage units will be unavailable to you in Singapore, Japan, Europe, Etc...but the good news is that some of the smaller stackable trays, containers, etc...are available on E-bay and I'm sure you can nab a deal or two!

Ok...So this little display unit is pretty funny! It's actually a desk organizer! I converted it to a make-up organizer on my own! Basically you can store files, pens, papers, etc...in it! But I found a better use displaying my cosmetics on it! I purchased it off E-bay! If you search for shabby chic desk organizers or just desk organizers a few will pop up!

Stackable Trays! These are great for palettes, shadows, blushes, etc! I purchased these from the Container Store but they can be found just about anywhere! Helpful hint to locating them is look in the kitchen storage area! These should be laying around as they are normally used for organizing flatware! You can find these in virtually any home good store! They come in long sizes, smaller, and medium! The price here in the US ranges from $5.99 to $9.99 USD

A Happy Smaller Tray with Some MJ in it!

A Larger Tray with it's tummy filled with Too Faced, Jill Stuart, MAC, and some Stila!

Here we are again with a desk organizer! I got this little guy off E-bay as well! Just go and type "desktop organizer" and you'll have a ton of happy little organizers you can convert to make-up storage organizers! Yay! This one I particular love because it has two shelves and three little draws!

In this picture you can kinda see some of the little stackable containers I have! Caboodles makes these! They are sold in lots of three I THINK or maybe lots of two! They run about $9.99-$12.99 per lot! These are extra nice because they stack really neatly! I got these from Walgreens so when you guys do your next Walgreens "Spree" you can pick some up maybe!

See how neatly they stack! :)

This cabinet was purchased from the Lori Greiner Collection on QVC! I've seen these on E-bay so if you are serious about wanting to purchase one you can easily find it on E-bay! They aren't cheap sadly! I purchased mine for $99 I THINK! But they are much higher on E-bay! Personally I believe they are worth the price! This basically swings open to reveal three trays on either side for make-up storage.

Opened!

Totally Opened!

Here's some pics I grabbed from the QVC website for the storage unit! It's available in three finishes which are oak, white, and chestnut!

This is irrevelant to cosmetics but I'd really just like to say that her storage units are amazing! I have many of the make-up organizers shes put out (which I'll be showing you shortly) and I also have her jewelry armoire which I'm going to show right now! I couldn't resist taking a pic of it because truly it's such an amazing unit for storing your jewelry and such in! Her website can be located here, Lori Greiner, if anyone is interested!

Back to cosmetics storage hehe...

This next one is a spinning mirror vanity which is Lori Greiner as well purchased from QVC! I can't really recall the price at the moment but again it was well worth it!

Photos I nicked off the QVC site:

My pics:

Next up...

These draws were purchased from the Container Store. The right side is an entire unit that is not detachable. It contains 10 small draws housed in one unit! The other larger drawers on the left are stackable units. They are one unit with three draws per a unit. You can store about 35 shadows per a draw so it's really alot of storage! These cost $14.99 Each and the 10 Draw Unit is $39.99.

This guy is a mini wooden shelf I got off E-bay! If you search "wooden wall shelf" you'll find alot of similar items that you can convert to cosmetic storage! You can't see it but it's rather deep and the pigments go back three rows!!!!

Top of the shelf!

These two units are also purchased in the container store! Not sure of the price!

And finally this is one of my favorite organizers! This is by Lori Greiner as well! I have 5 of these total! Some of them reside in my spare bedroom and some are in my bathroom! They are an amazingly great organizer! I believe they are $39.99 on QVC but I've seen them on E-bay for far lower! Have a sneak around and I bet you can nab a deal! I emptied one of them out because I wanted you to see how much room it has inside!

I hope I answered everyone's questions about storage units and such!

For a youTube video of my storage solutions please check out the label MuseTV and it's listed under there ;)

Lemming

A lemming refers to a purchase/wished-for-item which results from reading an enthusiastic post about a new fabulous product. Overcome by compulsion, readers follow like lemmings diving off a cliff.

Originally coined in the alt.fashion newsgroup (I'm old enough to remember those boards and wise enough not to admit it) in the late 90s, the term has permeated numerous beauty boards/forums/sites.

May be used as a noun or verb. May apply to the buyer but more commonly to the item of desire.

A flemming is a fledgeling lemming.

Example:

What makeup items are on your current lemming list?

I am totally lemming the entire upcoming MAC collection!

Up Ahead, A Look Into the Future of MuseMedia

Here's a little sneak peak at what's up ahead for blog updates!

-Staple Brush Video Blog
So many people ask me about my brush collection, which brushes are best, which are my staple brushes, which are used for what part of my eye area, etc....I'll be doing a video blog about this very shortly which will include all the brushes I own, ones I absolutely can't live without, and where I use them on my eyes and face!

-FOTD's
Few people have expressed how much they miss my Face of the Day pictures! I've been a bit remiss in adding any new ones up! My cam whoring days have been bleak as I find myself always late in the morning to do them! I'll be adding new pictures up soon! Anyone who asked for a particular palette FOTD please know I haven't forgotten and will of course get to them!

-Japanese Cosmetic Buying Guide
The guides for Japanese Cosmetics are coming along very well and I hope to have part two up very shortly for your viewing pleasure!

-Questions, Answers, Recommendations
I get ALOT of messages on youTube, via e-mail, etc..asking me questions about application, questions about cosmetics, and general questions about recommendations for certain products! I'd love to open a section up just for general questions, answers, and recs! That'll be something I'll be doing soon!

-A Cosmetic Junkie Forum
I'm currently working on opening up a forum because I truly believe that all good cosmetic junkies should have a place to conjugate and get into trouble :) There are many forums for makeup junkies already out there but the general idea of having my own where I can do reviews, FOTD's, etc..is really appealing to me! That's something I am currently working on!

-Videos
More Musemedia videos are in the works! Youtube doesn't like me to babble much and I'm cut down to speaking for 10 minutes at a time! I'm currently looking into uploading the videos and serving them to you in a better format, recorded with my MiniDV, and served from my own server! This means better quality for you, faster loading times, and longer videos (I won't need to have several videos floating around at once when I can just have one long video). As I work on this I'll continue to use Google Video and Youtube as the main home for Musemedia Video Blogs!

-Your Content!
Their is NOTHING I love more than hearing from other people, seeing their FOTD's, listening to their reviews on products, seeing their hauls, stashes of makeup, etc....I'll be doing blogs asking for content soon from everyone! I'd love to have a weekly submission of pictures, reviews, etc...from the readers!

I think that's about all I have in the works now and plenty of it will keep me busy! Thanks to everyone for stopping by and reading my absolute insanity! The numbers can't lie as I've had a steady stream (little miss show off here hehe) of 415-450 visitors a day and quite a few spurts of over 1000 last week!

I can't thank everyone enough for visiting me here! It's truly a passion and I adore sharing it with each and every one of my fellow cosmetic whores and general junkies!

Cheers to us!

Lorac Starry-Eyed Baked Eyeshadow

Hmmmmmmm now here's something I can finally get excited about this Fall! Lorac has three new baked eyeshadow that promises I'll shine like a super star if I buy them (I don't really need these as I already am quite a star as is! I'm joking! I'm joking! No one throw any tomatoes please!).

The three colors are Evening Star (a blue trio), Rising Star (a green trio), and Shining Star (a bronze trio). These are all limited edition and $24 each!

Bit pricey for a trio but if they are contain as much sparkle and shimmer as they promise it'll be worth it!

They are on my wish list!

Stashes and Storage

PJ from A Touch of Blusher sent me this fantastic link!

I adore seeing how other people store products and just generally like to see what they have in their stashes! Dunno if this makes me nosy or curious!

This blog has some great pictures of vanities, stashes, and storage! When I view other girls stashes (why does that somehow sound perverted?!) I feel less lonely in my cosmetic ocean (without a life vest)!

Lavshuca Color Conc Rouge Review

Lavshuca introduced several colors of it's newest gloss, Color Conc Rogue, for it's Fall 2007 Collection (I googled pictures of the newest collection but all I get are some weird model advertising Lavshuca who is this girl and where's Puffy damnit!)

I purchased four of the ten colors. When I first got wind of these I was over the moon because hey I love gloss! Gloss is good. Gloss is nice. Gloss makes me (and my lips) happy! Um..ya..anyway....At the time I was seriously going to go ahead and purchase all ten of the colors because we established already I'm that kinda diseased about cosmetics ;)

I'm glad I went with four because I have to give Color Conc Rouge a bit of a bad review! Sad sighs all around!

I've tried to love this, I've tried to even like it. I've used two of the four colors so far and they just don't do anything for me! It's sadly lacking any "wow"!

The general idea of the gloss is it's supposed to act as a lipstick and a gloss all in one but that sadly doesn't really work. The texture is like any gloss you might have about. It's pretty thick, pretty slick but it doesn't glide. The glide is non existent (if you know gloss you know what I mean). I'm trying to firgure out exactly why it has no glide, I'm not entirely sure if it's the actual gloss or the applicator! The applicator is just a hard plastic piece with no sponge at the end so you are basically trying to apply gloss using the end of a tiny, hard piece of plastic! The gloss it self feels ok on, not tacky and not too sticky but just about right. However, it has no lasting power. Application may last you 30 minutes if you're lucky! Again, as almost all Japanese brands, it's unflavored! Overall it's just sadly lacking!

On the plus side the packaging is adorable which is cause for some excitement but the actual product inside leaves much to be desired! The colors are quite gorgeous but what's color if it doesn't apply correctly.

Lavshuca has some hit or miss products and this is sadly a miss for me! Of course I'm happy to have these in my collection but I can only offer it an ok rating.

Save your pennies, buy something else!
