mark Spring Collection 2009

mark is busy being romantic for the upcoming Valentine season as we can see from the updates on it's site!

The Muse was browsing the site and noticed a few choice little kits that are sure to seduce, tempt, and make you flush with pleasure when you see them!

mark supposedly hearts these kits and really the Muse may feel the same. $20 USD snags you one of two kits for a bold or a demure look...the Muse isn't picky she'll take either.

Flirt 101 Kit Includes:
  • i-mark Magaic and South Beach Eyeshadows
  • mark Kissink in red siren
  • mark Juice Gems in Juicy Cherry Pop

Love 4 Ever Kit Includes:
  • i-mark in Cake and Luvstruck Eyeshadows
  • mark Kissink in Berry Bitten
  • mark Juicy Gems in Juicy Cassis

What's not to love with these sweet little kits?

mark Candy Kisses Lip Glosses are $10 USD but you can snag 'em for $6 USD if you purchase anything off the site. The kit includes three candy shaped compacts filled with deliciously scented and flavored gloss!

All in all a rather cute little selection of goodies for the upcoming Valentine Day season and of course Spring!

Want 'em?

Love 'em?

Hauled It: Vincent Longo Eye Shimmer Souffle Review and Swatches

I wanted to do one big post about Vincent Longo Eye Shimmer Souffles with a review, swatches, and an FOTD for each color but I knew by the time I actually get around to doing an FOTD in every color that they'll long be gone from Sephora for the price I paid! So I decided to do the review, swatches, and the haul pictures for you and sometime in the future I'll do a few FOTD's using the product.

Anyway....the moral of today's story is....

You may have noticed right after Christmas or maybe a bit before Vincent Longo was cut from the Sephora line up and reduced to 50% Off. Later on it was reduced further to 75% off but by the time I actually got around to looking into what was available (I was trying to be good you see) it was all blessedly gone. I seriously didn't need anything at the moment and it seemed pointless to bother looking, sometimes the Muse plays it safe.

Flash forward a few days (like Monday of this week) and I was at Sephora and allllllllll the Vincent Longo I could possibly want was on display and reduced by 75% which means that each of the Vincent Longo Eye Shimmer Souffles I hauled were $6 USD each! w00t super deal! I couldn't resist. I own a few of these already but at $6 bucks who could resist stashing up on some more so I hauled six!

You should really get over to Sephora and see what you can snag because these are truly a deal in a half. A little products goes a long way as they are richly pigmented and have a nice shimmer finish without the disco ball effect. The formula is silky, smooth, blends easily and dries down to a powder-like finish. On the eye they are stunning to say the least. I'm wondering how they'll work as a base for pigment. Must try that out! Plus they are amazingly long wearing! No creasing, fading, and they stick around for ages...you really have to get serious remover to get everything off your lid after use.

All in all I suggest heading to Sephora to see of you can score some for the rock bottom price. I nailed six in total! Well worth it and cheap to boot.

If anyone is interested I did mistakenly pick up an extra color, Copperleif, for my sister however when I got home she informed me she already had it. If you'd like it it's $10 USD which includes shipping, confirmation, and paypal fees without the US and for non-US it's $11 USD which includes first class airmail shipping and paypal but sadly no confirmation or tracking.

Did you grab anything from the Vincent Longo clearance at Sephora?

What did you get?

Musings of the Day: Your Fav Concealer

This one is a tiny bit hard for the Muse to answer since she has a slew of concealers that she really likes but since her taste in concealers changes regular and from day to day she finds a new one she likes, she decided it was best to pick the one she uses most regularly as of late...

I couldn't pick one because at the moment I'm feeling the love for Mally Beauty Cancellation Concealer System in a major way!

My second favorite and totally holy grail material is the Bobbi Brown Concealer Palette!

At the moment both of these two palettes are my go to for fresh, awake, and well concealed eyes!

What about you?

What's your HG concealer that you'd simply die without?

Lavshuca Spring Collection 2009

Kanebo's main portal has been updated with the Lavshuca Spring Collection for 2009. Although the Lavshuca main site has yet to reflect these changes we can at least get a bit of a sneak peek at what Lavshuca has to offer for Spring!

Sometimes the Muse wonders if she should be grateful or saddened over the fact that Lavshuca has hit an all time low in regards to repetition. The new eye palettes are simply the same o', same o' item that keeps popping up in a new design. Your Muse longs for the days when Lavshuca was keen on introducing aquas and bright pinks as opposed to the new standard of brown, brown, a bit of pink and brown, and more brown.

Sigh.

About the only color that appeals at the moment is the GN-1 variation which I don't believe I've seen from Lavshuca as of yet. Considering my grave love affair with KATE Glamtrick GN1 and the Visee Glam Hunt palette in the same color selection I do so wonder if I really need to add this to my stash? But ado it calls to me so try it I must!

As we already seen with past releases, Lavshuca is fully embracing it's new aubergine packaging and slowly phasing out anything and everything that carried the old style packaging. The latest item to take the hit is the Lavshuca loose powder which now comes with a round aubergine screw top and about zero of the fanfare and beauty of the old style packaging. I'm somewhat disappointed as I love my girlish packaging from the old power...le sigh.....I may indulge in the new powder out of curiosity since it appears to be a new formulation.

We also have two new mascaras to look forward although I can safely skip both as I'm not a huge fan of Lavshuca mascara plus I have a few on my hit list already for Spring so these are just a filler I really don't need. It's rare they release mascara so it may be something you'll be wanting to jump on board with!

I enjoyed the Lavshuca Foundation released this Fall immensely so I was excited to see a new base that's matching with the packaging of my foundation! Weee! I want to try out the moist version and see how it is!

There are also some lippies and I believe a concealer but again all safely off my wish list! At the moment one palette, the base, and possibly the powder is looking good to me but I have to see a few more collections on my list and budget out what Spring will cost prior to deciding on these as they aren't top priority for me at the moment but we shall see as I do feel a little twinge of temptation for the GN-1 palette!

How about you?

As disappointed as the Muse?

Love the collection?

Not so much?

Philosophy Cinnamon Hot Dots Shower Gel Review

Not so long ago in a distant land far, far away...well, ok, maybe it wasn't so far away.

Not so long ago in a land quite close by named Bath and Body Works a Valentine's release of a special 3 in 1 Shower Gel was released entitled Red Hot Love Story!

The Muse remembers the release like it was yesterday and cherishes her excitement upon taking her first sniff of the spicy sweetness that was Red Hot Love Story. Bath and Body Works extended it's popular (and long gone *sniff*) Temptations line up to include the limited edition Red Hot Love Story for Valentine's Day.

Now Red Hot Love Story was truly an interesting little product and the Muse simply loved it. Allow me, if I may, to bestow upon you some mental images to help you understand what it smelled like.

Last year the Muse was able to snag a few bottles of Bath and Body Works Red Hot Love Story at the semi-annual sale for $3 each. I was really dreading the day that I used my last bottle because I sincerely love this.

But good news!

The gods at Philosophy have introduced Cinnamon Hot Dots 3 in 1 Shower Gel! Bless be! Just in time for Valentine's Day too!

It's spicy, it's hot, and it's sweet. What more could a girl ask for? It's an exact dupe of those old fashion Red Hot candies that you loved (or hated) as a child. First sniff hits you with a tingling spicy hotness and a slow sweetness that takes the edge off all that cinnamon! The Muse likes to think of it as ambrosia.

The Muse thought she'd give you a friendly service announcement about the fact that Philosophy Shower Gels can be used as a shampoo, shower gel, and a bubble bath!

Although I'm not big on V-Day I simply adore the novelty of Philosophy Cinnamon Hot Dots and it even puts me in a little bit of a festive mood for hearts, candy, and lurve.

Snag a bottle two for yourself and give a bottle or two to a friend to make their Valentine's Day all the more sweeter!

The Muse Approves spicy, sweet, hotness from Philosophy!

Loves it?

Leaves it?

Do you like the scent of red hots?

Tell the Muse!

Grab it now at Sephora!

KATE Spring Collection 2009 KATE Diamond Cut Eyes Palettes

Although KATE's main site has not been updated Kanebo's portal site is showing up with the brand new additions for KATE Spring 2008.

I'm quite excited about the KATE Spring Collection and I'll be picking up quite a few of the items released.....

Read on for what the Muse is hauling!

I normally adore almost all of the releases that KATE puts out and I'm particularly thrilled with the new Diamond Cut Eyes Palettes. These appear to be typical Spicy line range palettes however they have a silver and gold diamond powder which I'm assuming you use to finish your eye look. I'll be purchasing all four of the shades released as the Muse is all about diamond like sparkle! Each palette retails for 1,690 yen but will have have the standard 20% drugstore discount.

Also released is a brand new shade of KATE Gradical Eyes Palette in an aqua variation. The color appeals completely to me but I own a majority of the Gradical Eyes Palettes and I make little to no use of them as is since they aren't as shimmery as other KATE palettes I own. I'm not huge on the formula and I've seen way better releases in the line so I think I can safely skip this.

A new color of KATE Deep Trap Eyes Palette is also releasing but considering I haven't indulged in any last season I probably will safely pass again considering my interest is caught and help by the Diamond Cut palettes.

One other item I do have my eye on is the latest release of KATE Gel Mascara....at first try I wasn't a huge fan of this mascara but it's become a staple and I think I'll purchase the new variation to see what's different and it's about time I threw out my old version anyway as it's near 8 months old.

All in all a rather nice selection of items from the KATE Spring Collection. I'll be hauling those Diamond Cut Eyes Palettes as quickly as I can as they look stunning!

What about you?

Does any of KATE's Spring Collection hold your interest?
