Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

I did wonder when Kat Von D would pop up with her own liner considering she's known for her heavily lined eyes. The new Kat Von D Tattoo Liner is the latest offering from the Kat Von D Cosmetic Collection available at Sephora.

Available in two shades of blue and black this liquid liner pen works on face and body. I suppose you can create some incredibly dramatic eyes with this as a liquid liner as it has a nice precise point as seen in pictures but in regards to using it on your body hmmmm.....you can create temporary works of art that are water resistant on your skin but the Muse doesn't suggest using it on your skin and proceeding to use it on your eyes, perhaps buy two?

I'm not an artist but I like the concept.

What do you think?

Yay or Nay: Kat Von D Goes Blonde

Kat Von D showed up at the Teen Choice Awards with a new blonde do. Honestly, I'm not sure which disturbs me more that she was at the Teen Choice Awards or that she's now blonde. Her hair looks somewhat like a wig though and not a color job? I prefer Kat as a brunette myself but I will say, stringy, straw-looking hair aside, the blonde locks look good but we my need a little conditioner because at the moment it has a too long in the fryer look about it!

Proper Teen Choice attire?

What do you think?

Kat Von D as a blonde?

Yay or Nay?

Tell it!

Popular Searches Of The Week

Here's some popular keywords that brought readers to Musings last week. Check 'em out.

Since LA Ink premiered the buzz around the Internet has brought many searches in for Kat Von D Concealer and how Kat Von D looks without her tats. The brand new Kat Von D Perfume has also caused a stir in my search box!

For some reason or another the Too Faced Smurfette Collection has generated quite a fair bit of incoming traffic lately. Everyone is searching up the smurfs...could it be we might see another smurfy collection soon or maybe it's just about ready to hit the clearance bin!

Folks are obviously feeling the heat and humidity because searches for warm weather friendly makeup are abound like MAC Just a Pinch Blush, Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation, and Lush Tea Tree Water Toner.

Milani Runway Eyes Wet and Dry Eye Shadow in Beach has been named my fav a few times here at Musings and obviously it's a fav this Summer as the searches are pouring in trying to find swatches for this great Summer shade!

The searches are also pouring in for Fall Makeup Collections 2009, Winter Collections 2009, and of course Holiday 2009. Obviously this heat doesn't sway anyone from yearning for Fall and Holiday looks!

And that's the top searches bringing people into Musings this week!

Beauty Babble: Weathering Makeup

Wanna Beauty Babble with me? During our last babble we were hit with survival beauty and all the essentials we'd need in dire situations.

How To Play:
The Beauty Babble section basically is a scenario of "possibilities" with questions and answers about what you'd do in situations where cosmetics would be needed!

Today's babble is about various weather conditions and makeup items or skincare you'd need in such situations!

Jump ahead to read my babblings and submit your own if you're wanting to play!

You head to work on Monday expecting it to be like any other day of the week when your boss pulls you aside with some incredible news. He relates to you that he wants to send you to London for the entire Summer to work at the UK branch. You're so excited you can't believe your good luck! As soon as you leave his office you dial up your best friend who lives in England to share the details. Your best friend informs you that it would be a terrible time to come to London right now because the predicted weather for the next three months is gloomy, cloudy weather and rain! You're kinda feel badly after you hear this especially since you're having perfect Summer weather right at home. You keep your chin up and decided you'll need a few makeup essentials to bring Summer with you to cold, dreary London. What will they be (choose five)?

I'd choose a fun Summer scent, a great bronzer, a pretty shade of blush, a shimmery, Summery palette for my eyes, and a good primer to keep my makeup from falling off my face in the rain!

My picks:

Fragrance: Harajuku Lovers G
Warm, coconut will help me think Summer during those rainy days!

Bronzer:
Urban Decay Baked Bronze in Glided
As if you haven't heard enough how much I love this bronzer! Shimmery cheeks with hint of gold and peach will bring a little sun to my cloudy day in London!

Blush:
MAC Eversun Blush
My ideal blush this Summer and plenty peachy to bring a little color into my world on dreary days!

Eyeshadow Palette:
Kate Von D Gypsy Eyeshadow Palette
A slew of Summery greens to spring up my look in the rain!

Primer:
Korres Face Primer
Love this stuff! Keeps my makeup so fresh! Hopefully it'll help keep it waterproof too!

Your best friend asks you to dinner on Friday night and explains she has amazing news to tell you! You meet up with her and as you're ordering dinner she springs on you she's getting married to an Arabian Sheikh. With your mouth hanging open you gasp in shock! After getting over your shock you gush how excited you are for her. After the waiter leaves with your order you proceed to ask her for all the details. She explains that the wedding will take place in the Sahara Desert. Trying not to gasp in shock you begin plotting skincare items you're going to need to keep your face properly moist. Pick three items to keep your skin in order!

My picks:

Lush Ocean Salt
Most people don't use Ocean Salt on their face because they feel it's too harsh but I happen to love it! It's ideal for those crazy desert days when my skin begins to flake up!

Mandom Perfect Assist 24 Double Moist Cream
This will keep my skin moist and dewy while the sun is beating down on my head!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sun Block
Gotta have high SPF for those sunny days in the desert! 85+ on this one! w00t!

Ok! Now it's your turn. The desert and dreary, cold rain for three months! Babble it peeps and tell me what you'd need to survive these nasty weather conditions.

Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer: Conceals Ink or Not?

The Muse has reviewed Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer and although she liked it she wasn't so sure about it hiding ink. I'm not denying this concealer is hells all pigmented but if I had any ink I'm doubtful it would do anything to conceal it.

However, Sephora put it up to the ultimate test and concealed Kat's OWN tattoos using the concealer.

Jump ahead for a peep!

Ok, so interesting results here. Check it:

That's pretty incredible but a little, tiny bit hard to believe it was just the concealer they used plus whoa how much did they have to use? And what's that strange reddish mark? She doesn't have that in the picture where her tats are in place but after they use the concealer she looks bruised? It doesn't look like it's ink that was being concealed either because in her before photo she doesn't have tats in that general area? And her neck is all red? I'm such a nit picker aren't I? Just curious what happened.

I dunno!

What do you think?

Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Gypsy

As I type this I am holding in my hand thee must have palette of the Season, the Muse dubs it so, thus it must be so (was that even a sentence?). I'm talking about the brand new Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Gypsy!

The Muse has never been so emotional over a palette in her life. Kat Von D continues to impress me more and more lately so much so I find the need to go to Sephora and add all her eyeshadows into my cart and just look at them and sigh...I never click submit but I dream about doing it.

Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Gypsy whoa. I couldn't pass up snagging this gorgeous palette for 15% off recently and boy am I ever glad I did because it's stupid gorgeous. I'm so enthralled at the moment that I just want to pet it and whisper sweet nothings in it's ear so it may be a while before I actually swatch it...it's just too pretty!

The Muse promises a review soon but please for the love of god don't wait! Run to Sephora and get one now. As for me I'm going to light some candles and make sweet love to it tonight....or not....we'll see what happens....wink!

Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer Review

Damnit all I hate to be the bearer of bad news sigh! I have to break it to you but Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer isn't going to cover up any tattoos you might have and it's kinda sorta over priced.

But!

It's really good.

Promise.

Got lots and lots to conceal? Dark circles? Puffiness? Fine lines? Full blow wrinkles? A pimple or two? Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer has you covered, literally.

If it's heavy duty you seek, heavy duty you'll get with this brand new concealer from tattoo artist Kat Von D. This creamy concealer promises to become your secret weapon at concealing it all including tattoos....ok let's not get too crazy now Kat...this is SO not going to hide tattoos. It's pigmented that's for damn sure but NOT that pigmented. Paraben-free and ready to service your problem areas this one is well worth laying down $25 USD for.

I liked it. Alot.

First of all major prepping is required as the formula is very creamy but it does dry down to a matte finish would could age eyes and cause more dryness in an already dry area. In my case, my under eye area is like the Sahara Desert so I do have to be careful with this. However, with proper prepping and priming you'll happily be able to blend away imperfections under your eyes and virtually cover everything up with fantastic results for a smooth, flawless finish. This could become HG material for me.

The coverage is comparable to nothing else I own and is on par with theatrical makeup such as items from Ben Nye or Kryolan. It's heavily pigmented so if you're suffering from heavy dark circles this will instantly become your new best friend. I don't have terrible dark circles but I do have tired eyes in the morning and puffiness which I seek to conceal for a fresher more awake look and this does that in aces and spades.

The product blends fairly well but it does feel rather dry on and has the potential to crease and cake so as I mentioned prep, prep, prep prior to use. It'll settle into fine lines so use a tiny bit as that's all you really need considering the pigmentation on the product. A little goes a long way and too much will just cake, crease, and settle into fine lines.

Price tag...hmmmmm $25 bucks...that's alot of money. I know how cheap of me right? But Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer is $22 USD....and this is $25 USD...kinda costly dontcha think? But in it's defense I will say it's worth it.

If you thought that Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer wasn't dense enough and had a watery formula you may very well adore Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer as the formula is a good deal creamier and heavier but it does have the potential to look unnatural so again I'll remind you a little goes a long way.

I'm Muse Approving this for purchase simply because it does hide major baggage. If you're looking for a seriously pigmented concealer that will cover it ALL up I highly suggest snagging one of these. I really liked it and I'll definitely pick up another when I've run through this tube.

Tried it?

Love it?

Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer

Anything that promises me the world is easily headed straight to the top of my priority list.

Take for example Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer, promises me the world and then some more.

The Muse is ever, always on the quest for thee best concealer on the market so of course when my eyes recently landed on Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer I was feeling quite hyped.

What's this? A tattoo concealer? That sounds like some seriously pigmented stuff!

What is it?

A heavy duty, multitasking concealer with a moisturizing, creamy base for covering up bemishes, dark circles, tattoos, and other woes. Supposedly this is super pigmented and wears ultra long. It's $25 USD so it has to do some of what it promises wouldn't you agree?

I'm thinking if it can cover up tattoos it shouldn't have a problem with a few nasty dark circles. Yes, indeed I needs this right away, on the double please, I'll take a case.

Contrary to whispered rumors that the Kat Von D Collection is a revamped, repackaging version of the Sephora Makeup Collection the Muse can verify that she's tried a few bits and bobs from the line and quality is brilliant so of course I'm putting my full faith into Miss Von D with this concealer.

It's on order now and review will be upcoming soon!

Get it now at Sephora!
