Sephora The Smokey Eye Brush Set.

I'm a want to create the perfect smoky eye for Fall.

In order to obtain my ideal smoky eye I think I shall indulge in the Sephora The Smokey Eye Brush Set.....

See here?

Everything I need to create said smoky eye...btw is it smokey or smoky...hmm...

Jump for it!

$42 bucks and a near 5 star rating on Sephora has me wanting this kit...I'm such a bloody mush when it comes to brush sets. I always tell myself, "You so don't need another brush set..." but my evil side proceeds to reply with, "Yes you do, what could one more hurt?"

This six piece set contains tools for creating a perfect smoked out eye. I actually do a fair job of a smoky eye on myself and don't need a brush set to do it but hey....my evil side said it's ok to indulge.

You'll get a total of five Sephora Professionelle (I wonder if the "le" on the end of Professional makes these more important) Brushes and a how-to booklet plus a chic faux leather case for toting around your tools.

The brushes included are a wide smudger, an all over shadow brush, a small domed smudger, and a dual sided brow brush and comb. Plus did I mention you get Volume Mascara too? Sweetness!

I think I wants it if that's ok. I just don't think I needs it but hey who's keeping track of that!

Sephora Fall Catalog 2009

As predicted by yours truly in my previous post the Sephora Fall Catalog 2009 is all about Fall Trends for the season. Dare I say I can't recall Sephora Fall 2008? How weird! The Muse's mind is working slow today to say the least.

Moral of the story is Sephora choose this year's theme on Fall 2009's trendy looks that I'm sure we will be privy to on the catwalks in September. Until that time I took some snapshots of the new catalog for you to peep at!

Check it below!

Many of this year's looks are pretty much the typical Fall fair which we have seen a quite a bit over the past two years or so such as a dramatic cat look, bold lips, and smoky eyes. Although many of the looks lack color (it's Fall so who wants color I guess!) I'm still enjoying the elegant, sophisticated, classical looks they choose for the catalog.

Many of the products in this catalog are already released such as the Make Up For Ever HD Collection, Urban Decay Lipstick Collection, and a few odd pieces that are new such as the Bare Escentuals Buxom Line (new liner, lip liner, etc...), and of course Kat Von D's Perfumes. Basically the catalog won't be bankrupting you any time soon as the offerings are simply nothing to get too excited about if you're 1. read about them already or 2. hauled them recently!

Without further commentary from me here's some of the pics from the catalog that should be arriving in your mail box soon or maybe it's already there!

Overall, it's nicely put together this year but nothing jumped up and grabbed me. The catalog is medium size or so, not too big, not too small. If you follow makeup trends this should please as for me I'm a march to my own beat kinda girl so the trends aren't really thrilling.

Did you get your Sephora Fall Catalog yet?

What do you think?

Beauty News Sephora Beauty Insider V.I.B. Membership

I'm a V.I.B.! Ha! Jealous? You have no idea what I'm talking about right? Sephora has taken the liberty of spamming my inbox this morning with my honorary badge of V.I.B-ery aka Very Important Beauty Insider. Honestly, I'm always knew I was extremely important, no joke, and it simply tickles me that Sephora now knows too!

Click it for further deets on how I'm down with the V I B and what it's all about!

If you spend a gazillion dollars a year at Sephora they'll beef up your Sephora Beauty Insider account and make it a V.I.B. account. Gawd, I love how Sephora is like a McDonald's Happy Meal lately. You get a prize and a treat around every corner, SCORE!

Not only did they take the time out to send me a 10% off coupon that I can use in store or online (I'll share it later on if I'm able too...not sure if it's one use or not) but they also gave me a slew of new options with my beauty insider membership.

So the basic deals are you get invites to special events...no info as of yet what those events could be but I imagine it's probably a buncha junkies gathering around some new product or something similar. On top of this you get bigger, badder freebies and access to not yet launched products.....meh all exciting I guess. Also you get access to the V.I.B. hot line....ummmm I'm guessing this is where you can discuss makeup porn with other junkies..kidding, kidding. But yes they have a hot line I suppose it's for skin care, make up advice....again pretty cool perk.

All exciting yes but the biggest, bestest, most incredible thing evers?

Holiday Gift Card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone run around in circles and get excited! They are rewarding you now for spending buckage at Sephora! You read that right! The more you spend the more you'll get on a gift card. No details are really confirmed in the e-mail but from what I gather they'll be giving you a gift card towards the holiday with a dollar amount courtsey of the money you've spent at Sephora all through the year!

Sweet!

Check your inbox dears and maybe you'll find your invite inside!

Click here for more details on the new Sephora V.I.B. program.

Nice job Sephora keep up the cool freebie-ness we all appreciate it in tough economic times.

Sephora Moroccan Sunrise Palette Review and Swatches

Ahh Sephora, you cheeky little monkey, it delights me endlessly when you shock and surprise me. We gently touched on the subject of Sephora's Spring Collection entitled Moroccan Sunrise way back when. Please tell me you recall? We were all so awed by the prospect of such a pretty collection put out, no less, by Sephora. Indeed, Sephora sneaks up on occasion and releases little itty bitty items that are awesome.

Awesome would fall on the heals of the Sephora Moroccan Sunrise Palette, perhaps awesome isn't even a suitable adjective to use. Great? Fabulous? Gorgeous perhaps?

Jump for it!

I do feel slight guilty I'm spreading the good cheer about a Spring palette in the Summer but you'll be happy to know 1. the palette is still very available and 2. it's pretty stunning for Summer anyway color wise!

Some of the Sephora Moroccan Collection has since gone on clearance and everyday I head over to peep and see if this palette pops up on sale too, but ado, it's still $32. But it's well spent money in my opinion.

First off, you may have to get pass the idea that although very pretty in design the palette is very cheap. It looks like a heavy gold plated palette but in fact it's cheap plastic so it can easily break if dropped. Also they include a dual ended rubbish brush with it. What they think you're going to do with a brush that's this skinny is beyond me as it can be used, at best, as a liner brush and in no way can apply the shadows enclosed in the compact.

Aside from these rants I must say the shadows inside are absolute gems. Smoldering Summer ready colors with a pigmented, easy to blend formula await you in six shades. Combine and blend together for a sizzling Summer look or wear them alone for several different looks!

The palette includes a fiery orange, a champagne beige, a shimmering coffee brown, a matte nude brown, and a flirty coral pink. All the shades are stunning and quite unique particularly the pink and pretty orange. Five of the shadows have a shimmer finish where as the sixth is matte. In my opinion they did the palette unjust by releasing it as part of the Spring Collection since, for me, it makes a way better Summer release.

My first look I used the champagne beige as a highbrow highlighter and the orange on my lid with a bit of pink coral blended into the crease. For my second loos below I used the champagne beige and coffee brown to contrast.

My camera's flash picks up shimmer in a major way so a better representation of the shadow finish is this last photo!

Overall, the palette is a pure joy and a very nice find from Sephora. I think it's worthy of a pick up if you're looking for an array of tropical, sunny shades this Summer! Muse Approved for purchase.

Anyone pick this up?

Loving it?

Tell the Muse!
