Tokyo Milk Lipstick

Cult favorite, Tokyo Milk, hits the cosmetic scene with a brand new lipstick. This Muse is charmed I'm sure as she simply loves Tokyo Milk.

Love it after the jump!

The brand new Tokyo Milk Lipsticks will feature four shades with an SPF 15 and Tokyo Milk's famous vintage packaging. Each lipstick is hand wrapped (as with their soaps) in a vintage-inspired paper and every lipstick comes packaged with mints...but of course darling who wouldn't need lipstick and mints together right?

Pucker up, Tokyo Milk steals the lipstick scene with these.

Each Tokyo Milk Kiss Me Kit is available for $24 from Beauty Habit.

Too Faced Lip Luxury Free Love Review and Swatches

Urban Decay single handedly convinced me I need more nude pink shades of lipstick in my life with it's newest color, Naked.

Suddenly, the Muse's dreams are filled with visions of naked, nude pink shades for my lips. And than Too Faced Lip Luxury in Free Love stepped into my life....!

Click it for the review.

Oh my god dude this lipstick is champagne-infused....w00t! I'm going to party like it's 1999 tonight. Ha!

But no seriously it really is inflused with champagne...interesting concept eh? I've been meaning to try Too Faced Lip Luxury for a fair while now so I'm happy to finally test it out.

It's quite a nice lippie. Good formula with a smooth application. Very creamy and moisturizing, good pigmentation as well. It's incredibly lightweight with a shimmering, sparkling finish.

Of course, the Muse is all about the packaging. It comes in metallic pink tube with a diamond colored rhinestone on the top of the cap. Loves it!

But after all this the very best part is the new shade for Fall entitled Free Love. It's a sweet pale pink shade that's incredible beautiful on lips. It's not dramatic, it's not bold, it's simply a sweet pink that makes lips look fuller, prettier, and just girlish.

Now it's not Naked by any means and the Muse does so think you need both Naked and Free Love in your beauty arsenal this season! Where as Naked is more of a perfect pale pink minus shimmer, Free Love is a sparkling nude shade that's subtle and mod chic.

If you're a lover of nude pink lips Too Faced Lip Luxury in Free Love will be your best girlfriend this season. Pair it up with a cat eye or a dramatic smoky!

Loves it!

Muse Approval for purchase.

Wants It: Lush None Of Your Beeswax Lip Balm

Remember when you were a kid and told people to mind their own beeswax....gosh that seems ages ago. I guess that's what tickled my funny bone when I seen the new Lush None of your Beeswax Lip Balm, got me thinking of silly little childhood sayings.

What is it?

Something good for your lips!

Take a peep after the jump!

Lush None Of Your Beeswax Lip Balm is a mix of lemon, mandarin, and vanilla for a super tasty treat for lips. The taste of natural lemon, mandarin, and vanilla combined with extra virgin coconut oil, murmuru butter, and caranauba wax make lips soft and supple. It's a brillant way to get your lips super smooth with a vegan friendly ingreident list.

Wants it, just so I can say "None of your Beeswax" when someone asks me "what's that you're applying on your lips?" That'd be my immature reply of course. More more mature reply would be, "You can't have any! Nanner nanner!"

Available now from Lush for $6.95.

Revolution Organics Freedom Gloss Review and Swatches

You're going to want to start your own beauty revolution when you check out the Revolution Organics Freedom Gloss which is a healthy, good-for-you gloss that's rich in vitamins and antioxidants and formulated with 100% natural and 85% certified organic ingredients.

Jump ahead for the review.

Available in five shades these glosses are a great pick for anyone that's conscious on cosmetic ingredients. With a formula free of chemicals, mineral oil, petroleum, artificial ingredients and parabens they should be a crowd pleaser with any green friendly makeup users. The Muse admits she's sometimes not terribly alert of what's in her makeup but she's becoming more and more concerned with what goes on her face. The glosses are a tiny expensive at $26 each but if you're very concerned with ingredients that should probably be chalked up as a tiny price to pay for a formulation such as this.

As they do not contain alot of the things you'd find in a normal gloss they do lack that certain shiny, mirror finish of many popular lip products. They have a slightly silicon feel (no silicon in them though). It's not tacky or sticky it simply feels like a glove around your lips. It wears pretty long because of this formula however if you're drinking or eating it will slip off. The colors are all very sheer and subtle but are easily built up for a nice bit of natural, healthy color. One or two shades of the darker shades have better pigmentation than some of the lighter shades. The finish is a slight shimmer and the overall effect is a pretty, healthy pink lip (at least with most of the shades). I actually wasn't keen on the formula but adored how they looked on my lips. It's a natural, healthy color that's very flattering.

I tested out all the shades which are Freedom (Red), Innocent (Baby Pink), Truth (Sheer Fuchsia), Vibe (Peach), and Integrity (Rose). I loved Integrity and Truth the best as these are the two shades that gave my lips a pretty slip of pink. Freedom and Vibe are the most pigmented of the lot and Innocent is very sheer and subtle.

Overall, they are a great gloss if you're concerned about ingredients. I did feel the price was a little bit much. Loved the way some of the shades looked on my lips for sure. A great pick for the go green cosmetic user.

Urban Decay Lip Primer Potion Review

I can't be the only one alive that runs across a shade of lipstick or gloss that just doesn't apply correctly. I find that darker shades are incredibly difficult to apply sometimes and end up feathering, or smudging, or just ending up everywhere around my mouth just not on my lips. On these days I seriously need something to prep my lips to accept bolder shades something that creates a barrier before my slightly damp lips and the darker shade of lippie I'm applying. Something that helps the application to go smoother.

In comes Urban Decay Lip Primer Potion to save the day!

Loves it!

Click for the full review.

Although Urban Decay Lip Primer Potion is meant as a primer to allow lipstick to stay around a little longer without fading or feathering I think the true joy of the product is how it aids in application. Prepping lips prior to with this primer will allow for a smoother, even finish. I find it's especially helpful for darker shades which always apply very messy for me.

The formula is a soft, smooth, velvet finish which doesn't dry lips out but builds an invisible barrier that sets the foundation for lipstick. The formula also has a moisturizing blend of vitamins and an SPF 15.

With lipstick I noticed a few more hours of wear however with gloss I didn't notice too much difference from my normal wear. Truly for me the real joy of the product is as I mentioned above, easy of application for bolder, darker shades of lipstick. The product also manages to slightly "white" out pigmented lips to allow colors to be truer.

I'm really loving this at the moment and think it's rather an ingenious product. I haven't really been privy to many lip primers in the past but this will happily become part of my daily makeup regime.

Loves it!

Total Muse Approval for purchase.

Works a treat and keeps my lipstick wearing long and fresh all day plus makes application a snap!

Lipstick Queen Oxymoron Matte Gloss Review and Swatches

Oxymoron: A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist.

Lipstick Queen scores again with her incredible Oxymoron Matte Gloss!

Click ahead for it.

Lipstick Queen Oxymoron Matte Gloss contradicts itself with a smooth, sheer formula that wears like a gloss but has the finish of a matte lipstick. With incredible vintage Gorey-like illustrations on the packaging this matte gloss is chic and multitasking for cheeks and lips.

I know I'm one of those that falls into the category of being deadly scared of matte lipstick...well ok..I admit it...matte anything scares the hell out of me. Matte colors be it shadow, lipstick, or other proves a difficult medium to work with as it's particularly a daunting task to blend and apply correctly. No worries Lipstick Queen Oxymoron Gloss is creamy, moisturizing, blends flawless onto cheeks or lips, and leaves behind pigmented color that's flattering, healthy, natural, and very pretty. Possibly one of the best matte formulas I've had the pleasure of working with.

Not unlike that of Stila Convertible Color compact these glosses are long wearing on your face for a fresh burst of color. The formula is slightly tacky and holds a certain stickiness to it but applies like a dream to cheeks leaving behind just the right amount of color. That tack in the formula allows the product to remain on cheeks for a nice, long wear especially in humid, hot weather!

As for lips, the gloss comes with a decent enough lip brush (if you have your own you might like to use that) for application. Shhh I tend to apply with a finger tip, gives me more control, just be sure you use nice clean finger tips before dipping it into the compact! The gloss smooths onto lips easily leaving behind very pigmented color with a tiny hint of subtle glossiness that contradicts that of the very matte finish. I noticed the formula was a bit drying on my lips but not over much however those with VERY dry lips should probably prep well prior to use and perhaps add a bit of gloss on top to prevent the gloss from feathering or drying lips out further.

The shades I tried are quite similar in color with very slight differences. Free Ride is a nude peach where as Honest Politician brown rose shade. On my lips and cheeks I didn't notice much difference between the two shades but regardless both were flattering.

In the photos below I am wearing the gloss on my lips and cheeks!

Overall, with it's ability to act as a blusher and a lip gloss (or lipstick if you please), Lipstick Queen Oxymoron Matte Gloss is worthy of a check out. As with many of her products I've tried I find I'm not disappointed and quite impressed. Very good stuff and worthy of my Muse Approval.
