Beauty News: ASOS $6 Flat Rate Shipping Deal

The Muse shops ASOS way too much for her good health. This UK shop carries a variety of beauty brands not available in the US such as B Never (recent addition), Bourjois Paris, Lord and Berry, and many more!

Normal shipping costs from the site to the US is pretty high but the good news is now they have a flat rate shipping deal for $6 bucks to the US! w00t! Best news ever! I couldn't be happier as I now I can stop asking friends in the UK to haul me goods from Bourjois Paris and the likes and just order them myself from the site for an extremely low airmail cost.

This will be ideal for any of you lemming the new Bourjois Paris Smoky Eye Palettes as you can easily score them with the shipping deal.

Yay!

Do you shop ASOS?

Beauty Discovery: Obsessed Minerals Pressed Eye Shadow Reviews and Swatches

Just so you know I've always been a self proclaimed lover of shimmer and sparkle. I find absolutely nothing wrong with that either nor will I apologize for. Bring on the disco glitter baby!

But wait...

I am trying to mend my ways. Shimmer is much like alcohol one needs a support group and a step program to help with the addiction.

Until I can get myself off the shimmer kick I've been on for the past 150 years of my life I'll go ahead and indulge my need for intensely pigmented shimmery shades of shadow from my latest Beauty Discovery, Obsessed Minerals.

Loves it!

Check it after the jump.

Obsessed Minerals carries a large range of mineral powders, shadows, lip products, etc....one item I'm partial to are their pressed mineral eye shadows. First off they have a wide range of color variety in the pressed format for a mere $10 bucks...hello inexpensive makeup! If that isn't enough they also take anything from there normal range of loose mineral eye shadow and will press it for you for an extra dollar, is that not the coolest thing ever? God, I wish more companies would do that as the chore of pressing piggies, as we established already, is not a job I relish!

The shadows are loosely packed presses which makes the formula into this creamy powdery texture. This formula in fact makes them very easy to blend and wear. The colors are all richly pigmented and about one swipe with get you extreme color pay off. They aren't what I would call pretty packaging wise or formula wise but the quality is there that's for sure. The shadows are quite easy to work with aside from a tiny bit of fall out but proper prepping and priming will ease the way. I tried three shades total and I must say for $10 bucks it's a real steal. The shades all work well wet or dry.

The shades I tried were Gotcha, Wanderlust, and Pagan. These all have an intense shimmer finish. Gotcha is a pretty copper penny shade, Wanderlust is a dirty gold, and Pagan is a sparkling royal purple. My swatches below are one swipe, one single swipe. As you can see they are seriously pigmented shadows!

The inexpensive price tag and ability to request loose shades be pressed make Obsessed Minerals a unique beauty discovery. I love the idea of browsing loose shades of pigment and have the option of someone else slaving over a press for me. Overall, Obsessed Minerals is worthy of a check out.

Loving all over it!

Mineral Powder Review: Aromaleigh Glissade Mineral Foundation Review

I should know by now that mineral foundation and my skin don't get along. I've definitely tried a few I like and some I've gotten very excited about but I notice in the long run they tend to end up in the bottom of my makeup draw.

I've tried a few Aromaleigh products before which I've been very, very happy with so it was the next logical step to try out their Glissade Mineral Foundation which sounds too good to be true.

Check out my review after the jump!

Aromaleigh Glissade Mineral Foundation is pimped out like the gods themselves use this incredible formula. Words like dreamy, luxe, and emollient got me so excited I could barely see straight.

Glissade is described as the perfect solution for women (like me!) that find mineral foundations drying, itchy, tightening, and sensitizing to the skin or anyone who just couldn't wear mineral foundation happily. This is exactly my problem or some of it. Itchy, drying, and just not happy with the overall results of mineral foundations, indeed Glissade sounded like what I needed.

Glissade is a formula that utilizes silicone-coasted pigment technology (I'm sure you're familiar with silicon foundations by now and even liquid foundations that are embracing silicons in their formulas) which provides a buffer between your skin and the pigments. Basically it's almost acting as if you've set your face with a primer first so the minerals are "laying" on your skin and technically touching it. Interesting concept, difficult to understand possibly, but I get it.

Glissade is typically the same formula as any other mineral foundation. It feels smooth, fine, silky. It feels very nice in simple terms. The idea of it being emollient and moisturizing to my skin is absurd because it also acts the way most every mineral foundation I've tried in the pass does. I end up feeling dry, flaky, and looking heavily made up even after finely misting with toner. On a side note prior to ordering I headed into a Bare Escentuals store to get fitted for the color I'd be using from Aromaleigh. I know I'm such a cheeky little monkey getting tips from BE and buying from Aromaleigh, bad Muse! BE was kind enough to point out my shade for me and I purchased just that on Aromaleigh however the BE shade I tried in the store was a bit darker than the Aromaleigh Glissade version. Just a note if you are buying that shades aren't exact from my experience.

The great news is the formula isn't itchy at all. It wears very, very comfortably. However, it does feel dry, it does feel flaky, and it does not wear long at all. Within an hour or two it's virtually gone from my face and even leaves spots behind so it looks like I'm half made up. Gross!

Although Aromaleigh Glissade Mineral Foundation had me wishin' and hopin' that it would turn into this incredible flawless finish I just felt ripped off that I indulged in such a large size. Sigh...always order a sample size kids and don't go full size, even when things sound absolutely amazing.

Glissade lacks the itch but it fails epically the rest of the way around. As for the Muse, she'll keep searching, no sense giving up yet. There has to be a mineral out there that works!

Anyone try?

Love it?

BH Cosmetics

If you've always wanted one of those mega Coastal Scents Palettes, believe me I've
been there, BH Cosmetics has 'em and a tiny bit of a cheaper price tag too!

Make the jump for the deets!

I randomly discovered this site when it popped up as an ad in my Google inbox. I haven't ordered anything but they have about the same inventory that Coastal Scents has and the palettes are about $3-$5 cheaper. Plus they offer a 10% discount for orders consisting of two or more palettes.

Most interesting of all, the guarantee. They offer a full guarantee on their palettes and give a full refund plus shipping if you aren't satisfied. Whoa, nice.

As I said I haven't ordered from the site myself but it's out there if you're wanting to indulge. These palettes are just about everywhere on E-bay as well but a money back guarantee seems great to me!

Check 'em out at www.bhcosmetics.com

Ready To Wear Gem Radiant Complexion Powder

I'm obviously a shallow little being as I find something terribly appealing about a face powder that has a faux diamond embedded in it.

What? Diamonds are a girl's best friend!

Ok, ok I admit the diamond isn't the only appeal. Ready To Wear Gem Radiant Complexion Powder looks pretty darn nice. I'm a lover of pink so I can appreciate a gorgeous pink powder for my face!

Supposedly this powder gives your face a soft focus finish with a soft creamy powder. I'm thinking Laura Geller Ethereal Rose here, horror but could be good, could just be good, I'm trying to not to let that bloody diamond lead me around by the nose.

Check it:

Just as a crystallizedTM Swarovski element reflects light, Gem Radiant Complexion Powder helps reduce the appearance of fine lines by helping ensure that light is reflected off your skin for a superior more natural look. This "jewel" of a powder helps make your skin more precious than ever with a potpourri of Coral, Amethyst, Ruby, Tourmaline, Pearl and Amber powders. The special formula is enriched with micro spherical powders, and it also helps act as an optical lifting.

That's what they say about it. The Muse says "ohhhh look at the pretty diamond!"...ahh being shallow rocks it.

WANT! For the diamond and maybe the face powder too!

Available from HSN.

Hauled It! QVC Day of Beauty

If you're a beauty junkie you probably already knew that QVC had an all day beauty event on Saturday. As tempting as it was to stay inside and just watch beauty on the tube, the weather was too nice to resist the temptation of outdoor play so this Muse Tivo'ed up everything that was on this Saturday and fast forwarded through it early this morning to get a peep at what she missed!

After fast forwarding briefly I came across two or three items I had to have but was somewhat relieved that it wasn't a ton of must have items.

Here's what I hauled:

I'm not sure why but I got a bit crazy with all the Laura Geller items offered. It seemed like such a good deal and the Kiss and Bake set. The few times I've tried Laura's baked goodies they have always been a tad chalky but I decided what the heck, might as well re-try 'em!

As for the Bobbi Brown, obviously you can see why I love these shadows plus I thought it wasn't too bad a deal for all three.

I'm looking forward to scrolling through the rest of my Tivo'ed recordings to see what else was offered on Saturday!

What did you haul?

Free Shipping At QVC

Ooooo QVC has Free Standard Shipping on a couple of beauty bits and bobs. I looked through the list and I did see an item or two that I've been wanting so I may indulge as I simply hate having to pay shipping for freaking every single item I order on QVC, hello Mister Rip Off!

There isn't alot to choose from, like for example I was kinda hoping I could score free shipping on those big jumbo bottles of Philosophy Purity but no luck there....free shipping sure, sure! But they do have a few Philosophy, BE, and other bits and bobs with free shipping.

It's worth a peek considering, as I mentioned above, that you have to pay shipping on each item ordered from QVC.

Clickie for all the bits that have free shipping. The offer is good for today only!
