Fall Nude Lips: Urban Decay Naked Lipstick FOTD

I expressed my delight over the brand new Urban Decay Lipstick for Fall 2009 in Naked in a review recently. Naked is such a flattering shade of nude pink that will pair up beautifully well with a dramatic eye look or in my case a pink look!

Jump ahead for a peep!

For my look below I used a bit of Jill Stuart blush, Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in Ballet, and Urban Decay Lipstick in Naked topped with a clear gloss from Philosophy. The look is fairly simple and innocent. As you can see Naked pairs up very nicely with a no nonsense, less than dramatic eye look but it'll go along just as well with a bolder look that requires a nude lip look that won't take away from the eyes. I'm normally not one for loving nude shades of lipstick but I fell in love with Naked almost instantly on swatch. It's one the most flattering shades of nude pink I've come across and doesn't have a mod look but more of a dewy finish that makes my lips look very natural.

By the way my fresh skin can be blamed on Skin79 BB Cream!

Sneak Peeks: Bobbi Brown Ivy League Collection Review and Swatches

Oh. my. god. The Muse is so about the Bobbi Brown Ivy League Collection! I told you a bit about the collection yesterday and popped a sneak peek of my FOTD today on Twitter.

For Fall the bold, green eye look is too entirely flattering for brown eyes in my humblest. Putting aside the preppy factor and just rejoicing over such a true, gorgeous shade of forest green is enough to make me dance around in circles of joy.

Check it after the jump!

So far I've only gotten my hands on Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Golden Leaf but I want to haul the other emerald green shade that is being released. The texture of the shadow is super smooth, blends beautifully, and is deeply pigmented, delish! Although it's a shimmer wash shadow it still manages to have a velvet-like finish with a subtle hint of golden sparkle. Too pretty.

To accompany the greens in the collection a new Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Forest Shimmer Ink was created. The color has a dominate brown note but also has the deeper aspects of a golden olive green. The shade is perfectly suited to the two shadows released and could possibly work as both a liner and a base.

I also told you about the new Bobbi Brown Creamy Eye Pencils. I got one in brown plum. Quite a nice, moisturizing pencil that glides on smoothly without skipping and smudges like a dream. For my look today I didn't use the pencil but I have a future FOTD planned with it.

Honestly for me the stars of this show are the Forest Shimmer Ink Gel Liner and the two new shadows, particularly Golden Leaf. Although I favor a warm look in the Fall that's made up of browns, golds, and occasionally oranges I can't deny that such a deep, dark green is utterly flattering and fitting for the season.

Well done Bobbi. Another incredible line up.

For my look below I simply used Golden Leaf eye shadow all over my lid and crease followed up with Forest Shimmer Ink liner on my waterline. You can see how dramatic the look is, it obviously speaks for itself that a simple wash of shadow on my lids and a little lining created a bold, beautiful look! Also as promised a close up of my eye using Urban Decay Eye Lash Primer and Urban Decay Skyscraper Mascara...I think you can see the results are quite nice when the two are combined.

Anyone hauling?

Excited as I am about all that green?

Reader's Request: The Body Shop RoseFlower Blush FOTD

As you know I recently hauled a few bits at The Body Shop one item of which was The Body Shop RoseFlower Blush 02 which was on sale. A few readers requested a review to see what it looked like on.

Here you go chicas!

As you can see it's a very pretty flush of color. Do look around your local Body Shop as there many be some to haul or I've seen a few on Evil-bay that aren't badly priced.

Anyone haul it?

Loving it?

Medusa Blush Review and Swatches

If you like your blush brighter, bolder, and full of energy you'll likely love Medusa Blush.

I'm all for different. I love bolder shades of blush and I'm not scared to use them. I personally think brighter shades are suitable for any skin tone so long as you use them subtly. With the Summer finally here (gorgeous day outside my office window today) a little pop of pink or orange is all in order for this Muse which is why I'm loving all over the two Medusa Blushes I recently hauled.

Jump ahead for the review.

Available exclusively in two shades for a mere $10 bucks each of these blushes are a huge size with plenty of pigmentation for your cash. Each blush has a very subtle shimmery finish and has a sifter with a bubble top for easy swirl and tap application. The two shades available are Georgia Peach and Dangerous Liaison. Out of the two it's difficult to decide which I love more as both are gorgeous.

Georgia Peach is a gorgeous peach with plenty of coral and orange. Completely flattering for Summer this shade is incredible on darker skin tones and lighter. A little sweep will do you so try not to over do it during application.

Dangerous Liaison is a pure bubblegum pink which I also dub ideal for Summer. It's a good deal less shimmery compared to Georgia Peach.

Both blushes blend beautifully well and give just the right touch of color to cheeks. If you're feeling courageous you can use these on your eyes as well.

Overall, the price, the pigmentation, and the colors are too good to pass up! Loves 'em! I ordered these from www.medusasmakeup.com

They also carry a slew of other great items. So far I've been very pleased with the items I've ordered from them and look forward to checking out other items from Medusa.

Bronzers for Dummies: Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder Review

Dudes!

What's up? Long time no speakie about the makeups! I swear I went through blogger withdrawal while on vacation. Some days I'm like "damn I have to get some posts out there for my little corner of the web but I'm sooo tired"...hey blogging is hard but after being away from it for so long I'm feeling more along the lines of "damn I can't wait to start chittering about makeup!"

Speaking of great makeup I thought I'd kick off my welcome home with a little bronzing 101. Bronzers for Dummies aka the Muse's most friendliest bronzing discovery. As you know I'm all about bronzers this Summer. I've been known to rant about bronzers and spawn spat about how horrible they are but I do so humbly admit that I'm on a rampage of bronzer love you moments. For example I recently had lunch with Lorac Baked Matte Satin Bronzer which has an SPF of 15! Hello, the Muse's best friends with it now. Nothing matte about it. But....ado...today is not about Lorac (that review is on the horizon so stay tuned). Today is about the Muse's favorite girlfriend, Bobbi.

Bobbi have I told you how much I love you recently?

Prob a million times but I do so bet you never get tired of it do ya? My recent love affair with bronzers was taken to the next level when encountering the user friendly application of Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer Powder in Antiqua! Loves it!

Click ahead to find out why I adore it...!

Leave it to Bobbi to create a slew of flattering bronzer shades for the masses. Sporting six shades of these popular bronzer powders are a yearly event with a new shade releasing each season. For the Muse it's all a new experience because last year she'd have turned her nose up at the idea of bronzer. This year though she's discovering the joys of Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder! Possibly the coolest thing about this particular bronzer are the interesting shade selections, particularly the pinks. The newest shade that I tried out is Antigua which is a killer bronzing pink shade with touches of bronze and brown to even out all that pink. Who doesn't love the idea of a pink shade of bronzer? It's sheer perfection in my opinion.

The formula is ultra soft and beautifully smooth for an even, flawless application. It's difficult to go wrong with this. I'm no expert when it comes to bronzers which makes this the ideal bronzer for a dummy like myself. I simply swirl a kabuki in the powder and dust onto the apples of my cheeks, forehead, and places where I want a touch of sun. The overall effect is a bronzing pink look that's quite flattering for anyone who's unsure of bronzers on a whole. I do so wish I had a bronzer like this last year when I was adamant about my dislike of them.

If you're in the market for a bronzer at the moment and never tried one I suggest checking out Bobbi Brown's selection of Illuminating Bronzing Powders. With six shades to choose from you're sure to find that perfect shade that's easy to apply and gives your face just the right touch of the sun.

I'm loving Antigua and now I have my eye on Maui! Yum, yum! Each bronzer is $33 USD and available now at your fav Bobbi Brown counter or by visiting www.bobbibrowncosmetics.com

For my look below I paired up Antigua with a little Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow in Scratch. I was trying to locate my Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Bronzed Pink, remember that awesome shade from last year? Needless to say I was unsuccessful finding it as I was rushing about today so I settled for Scratch which kinda reminds me of it!

I know, I know. Doesn't look to bronzy! Sadly the flash from the camera takes away from the color a tad bit so do head to the counter for a play and a swatch as it's considerably warmer than it shows in my picture.

Anyone try Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder?
