The Muse and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

My god it's been the utter week from hell!

I need to rant a little!

I've been so sick since Sunday and I having thee worst agonizing sore throat EVER! If this wasn't enough about two million other things have happened to totally unsettle my week!

My best jubako (I brought it while in Japan! It was sooooo freaking special to me!) was shattered into two million pieces this morning when I grabbed for it quickly! Ugh! GRRR! I was so upset I almost cried! To make matters worst I repacked my bits into a bento and that too freaking fell on the floor (my office kitchen is littered with the remains of my carefully packed bento right now!)!!! My god the horror! How freaking crazy is this!? *sniff* Bloody hell I find packing a bento very relaxing but not this morning!

To make things even worst............!!!!!!!!!

I had billing reports due out today and Fed-Ex came early (they came at 10:45 AM?!?! WTH! They are supposed to pick up at 4:30 PM!!!!!!!) and they weren't done this means that I have to make the stupid long track after work to drop them off at Fed-Ex myself! I wouldn't mind so much if I was feeling 100% but I'm feeling about 10% at the moment!

It's excruciatingly painful to swallow at the moment due to my very sore throat, I lost my keys and I'm having to use my valet key for my car (I'm so scared it's going to snap in the ignition), I can't find anything on my desk at the moment, my lunch is ruined.......

My stomach is growling at the moment as I haven't eaten anything aside from hot tea in two days and I'm not below taking my chopsticks, sitting cross legged on the floor and picking the remains of my bento off the floor.....anyone wanna join me?

Pray tell what else can go wrong today?

Please can I go home now and back to bed?

Did I mention that I can't find anything on my desk? I said that already didn't I?

Someone shoot me....

Just shoot me...put the Muse out of her misery......

Awww... My poor Izzy!

The worst part is, it was probably the most pretty jubako ever! And the bento, too! I have a bento-box as well, but mine is made from lacquered wood and comes from China (yeah, I know...) so I'm deathly afraid to eat anything out of it. It smells like chemicals.

This is how we know you'll never be a good Japanese housewife: a Japanese housewife would totally have picked those bento shards up and arranged them into a pleasing garnish. It probably tastes alright with a little bit of tamari.

Two cups of tea in TWO DAYS?!? Man, I wish I had your willpower! I can't even refrain from eating two Snickers bars in two minutes! I'd eat them faster if they weren't @#%$^& wrapped!

Murphy's law, my dear: whatever can go wrong, will go wrong!

Yes, you can go home now. Do you need me to write a note for you?

Hey Mandy ;)

Aww thanks! Is it be hug time now?

zomg it had pretty little cherry blossoms on it. My heart is breaking!

I have a bit of a bento fetish...I buy all sorts of strange plastic ones from asian shops on Canal Street. Hello Kitty ones and such....so strange. Onigiri molds are another weird thing I collect. It's key for my rice to be star, heart, or kitten shaped. It's a must. LOL!

dude..I don't own a single lacquered bento..what the hell? You're lying. You aren't asian at all are you!?

LMAO!!!!!!!! The same thought had run through my head this morning! I was wondering if I should laugh or pick it up and arrange it into a splendid display for one last hooray in using it!

Hey speak for yourself my intricately packed is most pleasing and even better then a Japense housewife! My future Japanese husband will delight in his lunch each day after I've arranged it into a portrait of the rolling sea with dolphins frolicking in the water as the ocean air sweeps in on a bed of rice.

I just haven't had a good appetite until today. I've been in such pain with my throat that the only thing that felt good going down was tea :(

LOL you're a nut but i love you dearly.

yes please write the note addressed to the principal and would you add in I won't be able to be able to attend gym class for the remaining months of classes?

Thanks mom!

Muse, sorry to hear you're feeling so sick. You should get to a doctor. Maybe it's strep.

I'm also saddened to hear about your jubako and bento box. Maybe one of the lovely gals who do your CPs could pick you up another jubako?

Take care of yourself and have some chicken noodle soup! And take vitamins, rest, drink plenty of fluids, try those new Zicam fast melts, take zinc (oops, excuse me - I lapsed into my mother for a moment there).

Hi Taryn!

*mwah* I have to thank you for the jpmon tut! I just got it today as I've avoided my inbox as of late since it's disgustingly unorganized!

I'll post it shortly yay!

Thanks so much! my readers are gonna love it ;)

I seen doc on monday or was it tuesday? lucky me it's not strep just bacterial infection which he gave me meds for that aren't working :(

Yes. I can get one easy enough! Even get one here in the city but this one kinda had sentimental meaning to me. It was actually a gift from a very special person and seeing it smashed to pieces totally broke my heart :( It's like saying goodbye!

Oh well! I guess we sometimes put a bit too much emotional baggage on silly little things!

Chicken noodle soup it is!!!!!!! :) LOL yes mom!

*mwah*
love you lots!

Awww! I hate being sick too. Best thing for a sore throat is to gargle with warm salt water.. works every time and the pain goes away! You do have to do every few hours but it's sooo worth it. Take some salt packs if you gotta go to a restaurant and ask for just hot water. Hope that helps!
