American Grown Collection At Bath and Body Works

Bath and Body Works has some new selections up it's sleeve lately. I was wandering around one in the Hamptons last weekend (nice and quiet thank gawd) and came across the new American Grown Collection. I proceeded over to the sink and tried every single one...teehee! Can't help myself as the bottles are so terribly tempting with their bright candy colors.

Jump ahead and have a little peep at this new line!

The American Grown Collection is a selection of hand washes and shower gels inspired by great American destinations at a really great price. Steal, SWING! Love a good deal and these are it. Each bottle is a hefty chunky size for the value price of $6.50 per a hand wash (16oz) and $12.50 per a shower gel for $12.50 (24oz).

The selection of scents are as follows:

  • Washington Apple: In the fertile valleys of Washington State in America’s far west, growers tend orchards that produce the world’s most crisp, ripe apples. Formulated with Apple Extract to help nourish skin, Washington Apple instantly evokes your first bite of a shiny red apple, an unmistakably juicy flavor.
  • Napa Grape: In the rolling hills of Napa Valley’s wine country, the alluring scent of ripe grapes wafts through the air. Breathe in this irresistible fragrance and experience the intoxicating aroma as grape seed oil conditions and protects skin.
  • Siesta Key Lemon: Nothing says summer like fresh-cut Meyer lemons from Florida. Sweeter than other lemons, the plump, smooth-skinned citrus produces a sparklingly fresh fragrance. Take an instant vacation to Siesta Key as Lemon Oil refreshes and brightens the skin.
  • Savannah Mint: A frosty glass of iced tea in a hot Savannah summer is twice as refreshing with a cool sprig of mint. Breathe in this invigorating fragrance and experience the romance of southern charm and gentility while Peppermint Oil energizes your skin and your senses.
  • Montana Sky: Experience the clear, crisp quality of the mountain air in big sky country with formulas inspired by the vast beauty of an endless blue sky. Bathe your skin in calming spring waters as you inhale a rush of fresh air.

My favorites were Napa Grape and Siesta Key Lemon. I didn't pick them up while at BBW but I'm sure regretting it now so I'll probably order 'em online. If you're a hand wash junkie like me and all anal about germs these big sizes with such an inexpensive price tag should please.

American Grown Collection is a great beauty budget find and available now at Bath and Body Works!

Anyone sniff 'em yet?

Victoria's Secret Pool Party Nail Paint Swatch and Review

The Muse is boldly going where no Muse has gone before. To the land of nail polish....yes it happens occasionally, the Muse ventures outside her comfort zone and takes on exciting new cosmetics like nail polish.

Remember kids, the Muse knows nothing about nail polish, isn't an expert of any kind, and is only doing this post for a little fun.

Click ahead to check out Victoria's Secret Limited Edition Pool Party Nail Paint.

I swear I'm having nightmares someone is going to ask me some techy nail polish question like what finish this is or something equally important and I won't know how to answer. I'm truly a n00b when it comes to polish (be gentle) so I really can't review this proper for you however I did want to show you this funky fun shade from the Victoria's Secret Pool Party Collection I was telling you about last week!

There are a total of four shades available and the one I'm sportin' today is called Clemenshine. The other shades I didn't haul but this particular color did appeal for whatever reason so I just snagged it with the rest of my treasures as it seemed such a fun, funky shade for Summer. It's a bright, true orange so indeed it fairly shouts Summer! These are 3 for $15 which you can mix and match with other items in the collection so I guess not too badly priced? I'm not sure how much does polish cost anyway? I don't normally buy polish aside from a few select Chanel shades and when I have my weekly pedi I get whatever is hanging out on the rack or I steal something from my sis.

If you're looking for bold, neon shades this Summer, I'd check these out as they seem quite fresh and fun for the warmer weather.

Hope my first official nail post wasn't too bad, wink!

Soap & Glory Wash Your Hands Of It Hand Wash Review

Please tell me I'm not the only one addicted to the famous Soap & Glory scent? I just love taking big sniffs of this stuff, it's like crack I tell you! I stock up on the shower gel like no one's biz because it smells so incredible (I sometimes wash my hair with it too shhhh!).

My second go to item is the Soap & Glory Wash Your Hands Of It Hand Wash. Hey, the next best thing is having Soap & Glory scented hands loves it!

Does anyone even have a name for what this smells like? It's kinda a bit muscular isn't it? I can't even describe it, just get to Target (or Boots) and sniff it!

Soap & Glory Wash Your Hands Of It is made with shea butter for a soothing hand wash hey it even has built in skin conditioners! It's made with dry hands in mind as it's meant to sooth, moisturize, and not dry out hands.

Likey!

But it's the smell that gets this Muse every time...oh that incredible smell...I wish I could describe it but words fail me, it's hard to make this Muse speechless.

It could be considered on the expensive side as it is $9.99 USD for an 8.4oz size and I tell ya the way this Muse washes her hands that could last two days at most. But I think it's a worth it indulgence. By the way the cute retro packaging doesn't hurt either!

Loves it!

Go have a sniff at Target and come back and tell me if you don't fall for it quick! Total Muse Approval for purchase.

Beauty Discovery: Philip B Hand & Body Creme Review

The Muse recently discovered Philip B products and just had to share the joy! Philip B has an extensive line of products that cater to all parts of the body including hands, face, and hair. No spot left behind here peeps! I've been test driving a few bits from the line out this past week and I can honestly say I'm in love, with Philip B, hello gorgeous wanna go out sometime?

Oh wait sorry I did also mean the products, honest. Like the Philip B Hand and Body Creme, hello soft skin!

Jump head for the good word!

The Muse loves products that are multitasking. Take for example the Philip B Hand & Body Creme. W00t! Simplify my moisturizing experience and I'll heart you forever. One product that I can use on my hands or my body. Loves it!

I tried our two of the hand & body cremes available one of which was the Philip B Cucumber & Blue Orchid Creme. Enriched with cucumber, vitamins A, B5, and E this one is fully loaded to tighten and strengthen your skin. Blue Orchid gives this interesting hand and body lotion a slightly floral smell but there is no question that the cool, crispness of cucumber definitely dominates here. The formula absorbs quickly and gives skin a nice, cool drink to keep it moist and nourished!

I also tried out Philip B Lovin' Hand & Body Creme which happens to be my favorite simply because for some odd reason or another it reminds me of McLovin' I dunno must be my weird and twisted mind, my mind works in mysterious ways. But anyway! This one is a shea butter and coconut oil mix which is enriched with vitamins E and B5. I like this one best simply because it smells so lovely, not what you'd think McLovin' would smell like by the very way. It's quite crisp with a hint of green, fresh and floral-like. This is a tiny bit heavier when compared to the Cucumber and Blue Orchid Creme which could be it's base of shea butter so it's rather ideal for dry, chapped skin, pretty much perfect for me as my skin could use the extra McLovin' after the harsh winter! Likey!

All in all I think Philip B makes a rather great beauty discovery! The Muse never tried before and she's liking what she's trying so far. Next on my list is to get me some of that Philip B Chocolate Milk Body Creme, whoa!

Discover Philip B for yourself by visiting www.philipb.com

Go on and click you so know you want to get your McLovin' on!

Musings of a Muse: All About Nails!

You probably noticed the Muse doesn't do many nail posts around here which brings me to today's Musings of the Day!

Are you a nail girl? Do you love painting your nails? Going to the salon to have 'em done?

Tell me about it and jump ahead for my reply!

Nope, the Muse isn't a nail girl. She has a nasty habit of biting her nails plus she rarely paints 'em! Gasp! Horror! I do try to make time for a mani but for the most part my nails are polish-free. I'm so jealous of people who have pretty nails and paint 'em all pretty. Sad sigh!

It's probably the one area of my life that I don't pay alot of attention too. I'm all about cosmetics but I'm def not a nail girl!

How about you?

Yes to Carrots Pampering Hand & Nail Spa Review: Good-bye Dry Hands!

The Muse's hands happen to be as soft as a baby's behind but not in the Winter....ugh they get rough, dry, and I get gross hanging cuticles...all sorts of chaos going on when the colder weather sets in! Terrible! I literally have to stock up on masses of Hello Kitty bandages because I can't resist the evil temptation of picking my cuticles!

The past few days instead of pouring gobs of moisturizer on my hands I decided to use Yes to Carrots Pampering Hand & Nail Spa. Prior to moisturizing my hands I use this and I'm back to having baby butt smooth hands and nails minus dryness and hang nails! I can even skip moisturizer if I want as the product moisturizes my hands wonderfully well.

Yes to Carrots Pampering Hand & Nail Spa is a paraben-free scrub made from sea salt, carrot seed oil, carrots, and pumpkin. The formula is oily and filled with large grains of scrubbing salt and resembles just about any body scrub you might be familiar with such as Philosophy scrubs. Honestly, if the title didn't say hand and nail I'd have thought I could use it on my knees and elbows instead!

In order to use it you'll simply scrub a small amount on wet hands and rinse! Presto! Smooth hands! The grains work at exfoliating your skin while the natural oils of the product moisturize your hands and nails. With ingredients such as pumpkin and carrot I was expecting this to smell as such however strangely enough it kind of has a soft floral scent which is interesting.

The Muse is open to just about anything that will relieve her dry skin in the Winter and she totally dug Yes to Carrots Pampering Hand & Nail Spa! The price is quite nice as it's on sale at Walgreens at the moment for $12.74 USD plus you get a rather large jar. It exfoliates as well as moisturizes while spoiling your hands and nails with good for you ingredients all while keeping it's formula paraben-free!

Sweet!

Likey!

The Muse thinks you should say Yes to Carrots and snag yourself some of this great stuff! It's undoubtedly something your dry hands and nails will thank you for this Winter!

How do you keep your hands moist during the cold weather?

Tell the Muse!

Keep your eyes open because next week you'll have a chance to win your own tub of Yes to Carrots Pampering Hand & Nail Spa!
