Shills Pore Hide & Heal Cream Review

One of my greatest discoveries from Shills (aside from a BB Cream you'll learn about soon) is the Pore Hide & Heel Cream. Although I don't suffer large pores I still can appreciate the flawless finish of my face after using Shills Pore Hide & Heel Cream.

Shills is a Taiwanese brand not available within the US. You can haul it from evil-bay or if you're lucky enough to have a friend abroad they can probably grab it for you!

Shills Pore Hide & Heel Cream is a hard textured cake cream housed in a cute vintage style tin a la Benefit Dr. Feel Good. Sadly, Dr. Feel Good and I never got oh so well so I was every so slightly scared to try this out but turns out it's incredibly different in so many ways when compared to Benefit's version. One key factor is the fact that it's tinted where as Dr. Feel Good is simply transparent.










Where as Benefit's version is a silky primer this is actually a tinted balm. You can use it in a few ways one of which would be to prep your face with it. As a step prior to your regular foundation you can use Pore Hide & Heel as a prep to fill pores and prep skin for foundation. I can't speak for it hiding pores as mine aren't large at all but it does create a near perfect finish for foundation. It's other use would be to smooth on and apply blush for very light Summer coverage. It's not incredibly pigmented but it has enough pigment to cover minor problem areas, even out skin tone, and create a nice flawless, youthful finish to skin.






Although unappealing in the tin the product has a nice silky, cream texture that dries down to a powder. Although it works well at mattifying my skin at the moment I probably won't be able to use in the Winter when my skin is drier as I imagine this will pill or flake up.

It's perfect for throwing in my bag for quickie touch ups on the fly as well so I'm not worrying about applying powder or foundation. Smooth this on with the enclosed sponge applicator, add a little blush and I'm looking collected and in order once again.








Overall, I think it's worthy of a hunt down. It's an all around great product and pretty cheap as well. I paid around $7 but I've seen it around for $12-$13 which I think is a fair price as the product is decent.

Shills Pore Hide & Heal Cream is one of those perfect little makeup treats for creating beautiful, lasting coverage for warm, humid days.

Beauty Items The Muse Just Can't Live Without

Shills BB 6 in 1 BB Cream (review coming sometime soon) is something I can't possibly live without. It's one of thee best BB creams I've had the pleasure of experiencing! So much so that I've forsaken most every other BB Cream in my collection for it. This is love people.

Speaking of BB Creams no question that Etude House Magic Cream and InnisFree Trouble Care BB Cream are two of my other favs in the BB Cream world!


Benefit Coralista omg! I can't think of three letters that explain how great Coralista is other than O M G. This pigmented peachy powder is my very favorite blush of all time.


On the topic of Benefit let's not forget the awesomeness that is Thrrrob and my staple product, Benefit Lemon Aid.




I find that lately I can't live without the very beautiful Ella Dean's Beautiful Twist Lip Balm in Winter's Cherry Snow Slushie Kisses. Who doesn't like slushies? Especially cherry ones! Yum!


Although it's sticky and tacky and ooey and gooey I probably couldn't live without Lipstick Queen Shine Gloss. It gives my lips such incredible slippery shine plus it makes them look twice the size! Loves it!


The day NARS Super Orgasm entered my life I think the angel's sung! What an incredible blush. Needs no commentary from me about it's awesomeness.


I can't live without Urban Decay Primer Potion and I don't want to think about it not being in my life. 'nuff said.


Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot entered into my collection quite by chance when I happened upon it at my local CCO. Ever after it's been my staple blush and favorite shade!


Oh Bobbi your name is on my lips today! Let's not forget how I went from feeling unsure about the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer palette and quickly having it become a staple product for me. I NEED this in my life.


Shu you know how to treat my lashes right. The cadillac of lash curlers would be my trust Shu Uemura Lash Curler, we be best buds.


Although it's meant for aging skin I absolutely love Lancome Absolue Makeup. Flawless perfection comes to mind after use!


Speaking of perfection that would also come in my jar of Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer, nope can't live without, can't go for that!


Another beautiful foundation that graces my daily cosmetic regime would be Lavshuca Creamy Liquid Foundation, we loves each other for about a year now with no end in sight!


It's Summer again so the Muse is hauling out Urban Decay Baked Bronzer in Glided Gold. Indeed, this product single handedly changed my mind about bronzers!


Life isn't worth living without Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy in my life, golden perfection.


Mally Concealer System, worth it's weight in gold peeps.



Majorca Majolica Mascara probably couldn't live without that and not willing to try either!

Shills Close to You Review

Just like me, they long to be close to you.....! Shills longs to be Close to you dontcha know?


Jump ahead for a review on Shills Close to You because it's longing to be close to the Muse and the Muse happens not to mind in the least.

Like most Asian cosmetics, Shills Close to You has it's little gimmicky fix it all promise in a cute little pot. Hey, we love cosmetics that promise us perfection right, plus, better yet, in cute packaging. Score! Or in this case it promises to "keep fit of the skin"...that sounds really important, kinda, right?




Here's the deal Shills Close to You is kinda sorta a foundation prep and prime. It's supposed to fill fine lines, pores, and skin imperfections prior to foundation. The real deal is since it's so moisturizing and creamy it's probably not going to do much in the ways of priming your skin if you have woes such as large pores. The bad news is as a primer Close to You is a fail! But as a prep...as a prep we might have something here.

Think of this as a concealer for your face and you might have a win situation. Think of it as a light form of coverage for days you're too lazy to apply a full face of makeup and again you have a win. Think of it as a spot treatment and yet again you're winning. Or swipe a bit under your eyes and again you're multitasking your way to a win.




If you drop the primer from the description you'll have yourself a nice multitasking quick fix with a killer moisturizing formula that blends like a dream and leaves your face looking healthy and flawless. Likey. Win!

We could deem Shills Close to You as a bit of a gimmick considering it's pratically an identical product to Shills Electric Eye Concealer. Honestly, I have no way of knowing if the formulas are the same but to me they appear the same, they feel the same....just come in different packaging shrug. But hey I can cope with two cute packages that supposedly perform two separate functions.

I use Shills Close to You as a light makeup coverage when I'm just running out the door for an errand or not wanting a full on makeup. It creates a nice even canvas for a bit of cheek stain and I'm ready to rumble. I don't normally use a concealer on pimples but I rarely get pimples plus I don't believe in covering them up anyway, let the bloody things breath and dry out is my solution. And I don't really have pores or fine lines to hide away plus I'm thinking Close to You wouldn't be much help anyway.






Solution?

If you're wanting a quickie makeup for on the fly application and a nice smooth, fresh appearance or maybe a nice prep prior to foundation, Shills Close to You is the way to go. Disregard it's Benefit dupe packaging and just enjoy the awesomeness that is Shills.

Likey possibly falls in the realms of loves it for this Muse!

Shills Close to You is exclusive to Taiwan but you can get it on Evil-bay if you're so inclined. I paid retail which is around $4-5 USD, I've seen it on E-bay for around $12.99 USD so not too, too bad. It's kinda worth checking out if you're fair to medium skin as it's a great little multitasking makeup item to stash in your purse.

Shills Flawless Foundation Cream Review

DJ put a record on I wanna dance with my new Shills Flawless Foundation Cream aka shameless dupe of Benefit Some Kind of Gorgeous. Oh my god it gets more and more comical as I try out Shills and notice the incredible similarities between them and Benefit.

How shameful! But still I'm loving me some Shills anyway!

Before I begin my review I think their may be a debate of whether Shills originated in China or Taiwan. I honestly can't verify. I've only personally seen it available in Taiwan not China but I've heard from readers that it's available in various parts of China. Personally, I've only seen it available in Taiwan. I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

So Shills Flawless Foundation Cream and Benefit Some Kind of Gorgeous...oh my the very my two products that are exactly alike in just about everything but price. Shills is $239TWD or so where as Some Kind of Gorgeous is $28 USD. You can obviously see the better bargain here.








What is it?

It's a cream foundation that dries down to a matte powder finish.

Where as the sole compliant with Benefit Some Kind of Gorgeous was the fact that it was such a nasty oily mess you'll quickly notice that you won't have any of the same problems with Shills Flawless Foundation Cream. I personally adore cream foundations and most of my makeup "career" has been based around cream foundations. When I got my hands on Some Kind of Gorgeous it was an utter nightmare so I'm happy to report that the Shills version is way nicer and pretty ideal for Summer wear!




The formula of the foundation is quite a nice silky blend. It starts out a cream but quickly dries down to a powder finish which allows for ease of blending, good coverage, and fantastic oil control. I'm unable to take full advantage of this since my skin is dry but when the Summer sets in and I'm looking to mattify my skin, this is ideal.

The product only comes in one shade which is very flattering for anyone with yellow undertones and needs alot of beige to tame that. I thought it was a little too dark for my skin but I made it work by using a little and blending it out. It comes housed in a great little dual compact which has the foundation on top and has a stealthy little compartment on the bottom for the sponge.


As I mentioned it's a cheap dupe of Benefit with it's record packaging which I thought was kinda of funny. Much of the line has cutesy style packaging a la Benefit style, terrible I know.


It's quite pigmented and has heavy coverage so it's not completely ideal for Summer-wear but it does tame oil very well and offers a nice flawless finish to skin. I think it would be particularly good at covering up large pores as well. Overall, I liked it but wasn't in love with it simply because they color was very dark and beige. If they released a lighter shade of this I could see myself Muse Approving it for purchase.






If you're wanting it I suggest checking E-bay as there are a few E-bayer's selling Shills. I paid retail which was $239TWN I believe so try to keep that in mind prior to getting purchasing at a scary price.
