Chanel Smoky Eye Quadra Palette Review

It took the Muse a bit to realize the potential of the Chanel Smoky Eye Quadra Palette! How horrifying that I almost missed out on owning this gorgeous palette.

I originally declined to purchase the Chanel Smoky Eye Quadra Palette for two main reasons one of which was the fact that the palette just looked a bit too matte for the Muse's liking and secondly all the shades seem to be a round up of colors I already owned from the Bare Escentuals Rocker Eye Kit.

However, after discussions with many of you urging and egging me on to purchase this I decided to take the dive and get one! And you're all right! It is superb! If you haven't already added this to your collection, I highly suggest getting one!

I originally seen this when I picked up my Chanel Eyeliner Duo and it truly didn't appeal. I didn't swatch at the time and honestly the colors all seemed quite matte however upon getting my palette I quickly realized how wrong I was. Granted, the palette doesn't contain the amount of shimmer of the shades in the BE Rocker Eye Kit but it does still contain a fair amount of flattering shimmer that doesn't overdo a look! All the shades are NOT matte as I originally suspected. If you don't own any blacks or smoky eye palettes this is an ideal palette to pick up as it contains virtually everything you'll need to create an extremely chic, sophisticated smoky eye look!

The four shades in the palette are a soft white shimmering highlight, a softer shimmering gray, a deeper shimmering gray, and a matte true black. You can use the shades in any number of ways to create your smoked eye look. I choose to use the white as a highbrow highlighter and a prep for my entire eye area, following up by using the darker gray all over my create and lid, brushing a bit of the softer gray on my lid and blending with the darker gray, and finally using the matte black in the V and blending it in and up into the crease.

The formula of the shadows is outstanding as the blend like butter and are extremely pigmented for excellent color pay off! Elegant packaging, gorgeous colors, beautiful smoked out look, amazing pigmentation, what more could a girl want from?

All in all I think that the Chanel Smoky Eye Quadra Palette is a fantastic piece to add to your cosmetic wardrobe and I'm sticking a Muse Approved on it for purchase! I loved it and think it's well worth indulging in and nabbing for yourself!

I did two looks using my Chanel Smoky Eye Quadra Palette one of which was all about Twilight! It's today, it's today! Who's going to see Twilight tonight or maybe you already seen it!? For my Twilight look I was all about a smoky eye look with vampy red lips!

I also finished my hoodie last night while watching this week's episode of Chuck on the good old Tivo! Go Team Edward!

For my second look I kept my lips much tamer and created a rather nice, chic smoky eye that really made my eyes pop!

How about you?

Got this palette?

Love it?

Want it?

Tell the Muse!

Muse - love the first look! You look smashing!
A few questions though:
I got the Laura Mercier Tuxedo pallete - should I be getting this one as well?
Can you compate the LM and Chanel palette and give us a Muse-worthy verdict?
And although I am darker than you, what is lip colour you are wearing with the first look?
As for Twilight,I wanted to avoid teenybopper fanpires (probably not possible , but still worth a try), so I am biding my time till Sunday. I have advance tickets to make sure that no teenybopper fanpire will have to arm-wrestle me for them.
As always love reading your blog!

*Sigh* Enough with the Twilight nonsense already! I can't take anymore!!!

I'll call you 'Bella instead of 'Izzy' from now on, if that makes you happy.

PS: Screw Cedric Diggory, what are your thoughts on Eddie Redmayne? It looks like they stuck Barbie's head on Ken's body.

If it wasn't for your review I wouldn't have looked twice at this,

((MAC was 10% off today, department store event, woop!))

(((I swear I'm not totally hyper right now)))

Hey J!

Thank you lovie :)

Mmm I'm not sure as I haven't yet see the LM in person!

I'll do some comparison for you shortly and let you know! I've been curious about the LM!

That's MAC Royal Romp and MAC Queen Sin with a touch of the new YSL black gloss :)

i wanted to avoid teeniebopper insanity too..I can't take teens...I act like one a majority of my life but when presented with a theater full of them I get a bit annoyed to say the least lol!

The friends I am going to see it with insisted we go opening night because I'd have honestly waited till a nice quiet day to go...I'm excited to see it but dread the screaming, texting, idiotic girls!

Cheers when you do see it :) Enjoy and let me know whatcha think! I'm hearing poor reviews so far :)

Hugs and thanks..it sincerely means the world to me you enjoy my insanity!

big hugs!

Hmmm I did read the post about the Armani Lip Wax but no fan of lippies that come in pots. Still I will check it out, perhaps the product will outweight the impracticality factor for me. Keeping my fingers crossed - and enjoy Twilight! Its almost criminal how much I drool over R Patz, thank the gods he is over the age of 21, otherwise I'd feel more like a sleazeball LOL Maybe there's hope for me yet, if he has a thing for over the hill, overweight Indian women after dealing with stick-figued Hollywood bimbos LOLZZZ

Hey J!

Me either. Totally a germaphobic here but I really dug the color and the formula so I'm overlooking the fact that I have to stick my fingers in the pot to apply the product :)

Aww thanks hun! Hope it's good but sadly I'm thinking the book will be the better choice of the two :)

Oh honey I'm a total perv lol! I was drooling over Dan Radcliffe before he was legal lol! ;)

LOL maybe there is hope for me too...us wobbly chicks need love from the hot, younger men lol!

I'll be the oldest fan girl there tonight I'm sure LMAO!

I'm glad you got this! I bought it as a birthday present to myself. (^_^) It is my first black/smoky eye palette and I am definitely needing some pracice to do the awesome looks you have going there, but I like it very much. This is by far the nicest eyeshadow I have ever used.

I also got the Beiges de Chanel one. I am much better at using the browns, so I can rock that one! Absolutely gorgeous shimmery brown/beige/gold hotness. Makes my blue eyes stand out from my pale skin. (^_^)

Musey! How did you create that awesome eye look? I got that palette a few months back because i instantly fell in <3 please teach me sensei!

btw, i also have bobbi brown's long wear palette in night sky, i hate the brush, it's so useless. I find that i have to layer on less if i first use the brush to apply rockstar on my lid, then use my middle finger to apply and blend ocean storm. The brush is horrible for blending, and the other end for lining is way too thick.

Have you checked out shiseido maquillage's gel liners? They do compare to bobbi brown and honestly i feel that their shades are prettier (they have black with silver shimmer =D ) and for their Christmas collection they have a new rusty red and a gunmetal silver shade for their liner. I'm getting both xD

Started reading Twilight, and I'm about half way through. It's ok, but I'm a bit disappointed because of the huge hype surrounding it.
PS Did you get my email???

hi Helena!

LOL :) It's really easy to create the look! You can do it any number of ways really....asian eyes? Double or single lid? Let me know and I'll see about a tut of some kind ;)

Yup yup! With you! That brush is crap..I ended up using my fingers...basically dipped the brush in, smoothed on, and patted on and blended with finger tips and kept building color up with the brush and blending again with fingers!

that palette disappoints me completely..I do kinda sorta dig the looks it creates but the colors are way sheer and they remain melty for a long time instead of drying down...plus they are so so difficult to blend :(

I have but I'm not a fan :P I do like KATE's Gel liners though but those crack a tiny bit...! I seen the new red and was thinking of adding it to my xmas wishy list!

can't wait to hear your thoughts when you get 'em!
