Napoleon Perdis Steals and Deals: The French Riviera Gift Set Review

A few weeks ago I had blogged about Napoleon Perdis's demise from Sephora. Although I'm not the biggest fan in the world of his makeup I couldn't resist a sale so I decided to grab a few odd pieces from Sephora's website as it was all marked down 50%! Seriously, even if I hate something I can't miss out on a steal and a deal. Am I the only one that feels that way? Hells you can sell me snow in the Summer if you said it was 50% off!

I purchased quite a few things but I'll only be featuring one in this review today. For some odd reason or another Urban Decay has changed my outlook on bronzers in a major way. Since my love affair with Urban Decay's Baked Bronzer has escalated I find myself checking out bronzers here and there on occasion.

So when I ran across the Napoleon Perdis French Riviera for $15 USD I decided I'd give it a whirl! Can't lose much for the price right?

The set came in a rather nicely made bright box and included French Riviera bronzer, Madam Curl Peep Show Mascara, and Satin Lips Lip Gloss in French Riviera.

I'll be honest and admit I purchased the kit because I loved the burnt orange glow of the lovely lip gloss! I couldn't take my eyes off of it! It's truly a fab shade! However, to my delight and shock I ended up loving the entire kit!

Who could have known I actually like something from Napoleon Perdis Collection! For shame on me for calling him a umpa lumpa! I take back any bad thing I've ever said about Napoleon Perdis...temporarily anyway!

The bronzer in this kit was a particularly scary orange, brown, oh my god I can't believe it's not butter shade that the Muse normally avoids however turns out that it works pretty good on my skin and gives me a healthy peachy flush!

The mascara it's actually good too! This gets better and better doesn't it? The mascara is a solid mascara that offers volume and nice curl with good staying power and no smudging!

And of course the best piece of the collection the gorgeous gloss which is pigmented and gorgeous! The color is a cross between burnt orange and a deep coral!

I simply love how three simple pieces of cosmetic created a gorgeous look on my face this morning! I used the bronzer on my face and eyes, curled my lashes and applied the mascara, swiped some of the gloss on, and I was looking fresh and Summer-like!

The kit is worth the $15 USD I spent on it! A few months ago at the original price I'd have passed it up quickly enough since I hate bronzers and the price wasn't quite right enough to make me spill the cash on something that I was only loving the gloss from! But since it was on sale I'm happy to say this was a nice splurge!

I've seen a few Sephora's with at least ten or more of these in stock so definately head on out and check it out for yourself!

The Muse says it's worth some of your time!

Nabbed this kit?

Love it?

Want it?

Tell the Muse!

Oooo... I love that gloss... boy, u sure have no dearth of choice out there, can find steals and deals everywhere! I'm a total sucker for sales too (the one in a blue moon kind we have here). Will buy anything if its marked down :) Still, its a lot of fun mixing those horror shades with other horror shades to see what u get eventually! :)

I love a sale, but ever since the Napoleon Perdis/La Femme scandal broke on makeupalley, I've been down on NP. I wonder if that's why Sephora is dumping the line.

morning mukho! *mwah*

That's why I brought it lol! For the gloss alone. Was such a gorgeous shade ;)

I heart sales. Ugh! Total downfall when they tell me it's 50% off!

I was pleasantly surprised that the kit was worth the $15 buck so not to many horrifying shades to deal with ;)

morning pinkcrow!

*gasp* Doesn't surprise me lol! hehe! I had heard that the products were also ripped from Nye at cheaper prices. I believe it wa Nye...! Someone had mentioned it in a past post!

Meanwhile NP stuff was jacked up to the max per pot.

UGH!

I'm just happy to have scored a deal :-)

I'd never have paid full price as his stuff is rubbish anyway but I did nab a few items that did work out ok!

I can't resist a sale =-)

Thanks for the comment lovie. Nice talking to you again! ;)

Wow, those colours look fabulous on you! I'm always wary of orangey things as I'm a natural red head, so I shall just sit here and envy you =)

I don't like the look of it!

No, actually, it looks great! So much less ghostlike and consumptive. I'm so proud of my Izzy! Baby steps, love, baby steps.

Still, I would grab some Bourjois Delice de Poudre bronzer, if I were you. Trust me on this one.

LOL Mandy!

Seriously it's not nearly as bad as I thought. I can't recall a damn sale so of course I had to grab some of the NP rubbish ;)

is that the little chocolate brick one?

I'm a bit worried 'bout that as it's really dark!

morning cece!

Thank you very very much!!!!! *hugs*

I appreciate the kind compliment!

I was a bit worried too as I applied but it actually wasn't as bad as I originally pictured. I was positive I'd be a horrible orange heehee!

But a light hand and it came out quite nice!

Many thanks for the comment! Hope to speak to you again soon!

Get the lighter one. It actually looks beautiful and doesn't bronze too much; it just reduces the 'Panda Death pallor' that I that creeps up on me the middle of Summer, from excessive sunblock use.

Plus it smells just like those tiny, adorable Asian erasers.
