MAC DressCamp First Impressions
I got my MAC DressCamp over the weekend but was too busy to play with it or use any of it! However, I thought I'd post pictures and just a general first impressions of the items for you guys!
The Collection is very, very nice! As you probably know from my past posts it sold out rather quickly but I was lucky enough to nab it all!
My favorite in the lot was of course the gorgeous palette and the lipglass in She-Gold. I wasn't loving the lippie in Too Fab or the lipglass in Fashion but I got them anyway since I'm such an addict!
The palette is perfection in my personal opinion! The blush is a beautiful bright pink with just the faintest touch of gold shimmer. Strangely enough the blush is actually labeled by MAC as being a Beauty Powder. It appears pigmented enough to work as a blusher but I haven't yet tried it on so I'm not entirely sure! From swatching I can tell it was nicely pigmented and had a nice bit of shimmer to it!
The shadows compliment each other brilliantly as well and it should be easy enough to create a perfect look with all three! I think the gold in this palette quite reminds me of Golden Lemon Pigment. It's a very true yellow gold and has a beautiful shimmer to it! The other two shades are pretty as well but I think the gold stands out from the rest!
Fashion Lipglass and Too Fab Lipstick are virtually the same color which is perfectly fine if you want to add a bit of a glossy top coat to your lipstick. I'm not completely sold on the color as it's a very loud bubblegum pink that doesn't particularly suit my skin tone.
She-Gold Lipglass is brilliant! I don't own any gold lipglosses and this will be a perfect addition to my collection as a topcoat for peaches, corals, or even pink lipsticks! It has quite a bit of shimmery gold to it and it compliments the colors of the palette brilliantly!
I took a few swatches of the palette, lipglasses, and lipstick but they came out a bit crummy! Sorry I'm still learning good swatch technique!

I wanted the She-Gold b/c I don't own any really gold lippies. Boo~~~~ I only got the palette by the time I got through on the phone.
I swear I posted a comment in one of the DressCamp posts saying I got the palette...weird. IDK~

I finally put up that giveaway-it's for a MAC DressCamp palette and the She-Gold gloss. And I recreated Temptalia's eye look using the palette and did a tutorial too-the palette is just so beautiful! I'm dying to see how these colors look on you-I know they'll look gorgeous!
As a MAC addict, I do have my issues with the way they do things. It makes no sense how fast this collection sold out. I was infuriated! Grrr....the packaging alone is so pretty! Can't wait to see some FOTDs!

I agree. I was very interested in how quickly this sold out. It was a tad bit weird wasn't it? I must say that I am also somewhat happy at it selling out so fast because it's been so long since a collection has done that ya know? It seems ages that a collection has sold out so fast. I'm saddened so many folk missed it though :(

Well, seeing the lipstick in person, I'm actually glad I didn't get it. It's the wrong color for my skintone. Same with the lipglosses (gold ALWAYS looks crap on me). But! I am happy you got it since I knew how badly you wanted it!
Man, Dazzleglass is already up on the site, but it only says 'coming soon'. I swear, I'm gonna be stalking that site like a vulture stalking a dying animal until that gorgeous Comet Blue is a happy little charge on my bankcard.

Well, I'm gonna go finish watching "The Langoliers". Dear god is that movie bad. But damned if I don't just adore it. And my two "Masters of Horror" DVDs just shipped and hopefully they'll get here tomorrow (one's about a race of magical raccoons, and no I'm not kidding. Look up Dario Argento's "Pelts" and proceed to laugh yourself SICK).

It's kinda a weird shade. Not so hot for me either but the packaging killed me so I ended up getting it ;)
The gold isn't that gold it's more of a shimmery overcoat :)

hehe. Too much ;) I got Series 1-3 10 course Who Figures. Which were a great deal at $80 bucks a set. Ton of Manga Box Sets, few hentai dvds these were bm but I don't mind as it's difficult to get any good ones US side, I got a really cute tardis tack pink, a signed edition TP's latest Boxset mmmm I'm sure there is more. I should do a haul entry :) but people would be a bit bored lol!

Have you purchased the two "8 moves to die for" sets? Those are not too bad. Particular the Japanese ones.
