Coastal Scents Mega Palette

The equally beautiful and cute, Elessa, from Pursebuzz recently did a review on the 88 Shadow Palette from Coastal Scents!

Holy cow this thing is MASSIVE and it's only $19.95 USD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Muse wants an 88 color palette for herself hmmmm should I or shouldn't I indulge?

This honestly wouldn't get me too excited but since Elessa gave it a rather good review I admit my curiosity has spiked!

See Elessa's video review below!

Unless you have a lot of similar colors, I would say go for it ^_^. I mean, for $20, you just have to have a few colors you really want to try to make it worth getting, and it looks like it would be fun for traveling.

hiya Kaoru!

I think it would make a great palette for travel! I honestly probably every similar colors in the palette in my collection but seriously for the price you can't go wrong ;)

Elessa is too cute for words! I could totally fit her in MY purse of something, she's so tiny. She made the shadows look disproportionately large, by comparison; I totally freaked out when she whipped out that dime! This must mean she's the size of a half dollar!

I'm not sure about the quality of the shadows inside, but if they're up to snuff then this might be a great palette for a, aspiring makeup artist.

On a side note, I just placed my first order with coastal scents, for the Italian Badger Buffer Brush and the tiny pink Kabuki. Here's hoping they're worth it!

Hey Muse!

I saw the review, but I just can't do it ... this palette is all over eBay and it isn't made by Coastal Scents and I just don't trust it. Just search makeup palette on eBay and you will see a ton of them. Makeup snob? Maybe ... but I don't trust most of the stuff Made in China to use on my face. Coastal Scents is known for their mineral makeup, I dunno why they are hawking this eBay fodder. Just my $0.02 of course ...

Critty :-)

Hi Muse, I saw the review of Pursebuzz as well and I clicked on the site at once wanting to get it myself..but I stopped myself as the shipping from US to the PHilippines would be approx the same as the amount of the palette...:( and I heard it was out of stock for a moment, not sure if they're in stock again :) now you'r triggering my "wanting to buy this again" moment hahaha

Hi, I've been reading your blog for some time now but have'nt commented before.

I got one similar to that one for christmas several years ago ( it said Romeo & Juliet on the lid, but it is exactly the same colurs in this one as in the one I got). I really enjoyed it, the pigmentation in the shadows were good and for me who use to be a "black, silver, gray with red lipstick" kind of gal, it was great for trying out new looks.
I miss mine, it "died" two years ago when I was moving house.
This was superlong and my grammar probably suck, since english is'nt my first language, but now you got my five cents, anyway :)

I am going crazy. literally!
I want to own a humongous pressed mineral pigment palette cases like this.

Mineral make up brands need to come out with pressed eyeshadow palettes soon!! 'cause it takes so long to do all of this by hand. >_<

Do you happen to know where you can find these kind of eyeshadow palettes? But bigger wholes maybe like MAC but have more then 16 slots?

I see many similar palettes like this makes me wonder if we really get our moneys worth lol
there is some like it at

hey miss mandy! hehe I agree with you 100% and the though had crossed my mind that the palette was bigger than Elessa's entire body!

I honestly would put my nose up at this but since her review is so good I am curious!

I'm looking forward to your review. I had about 12 brushes in my cart and was about to hit submit but decided I'd wait for more reviews!

Happy Weekend my friend!

hi critty how are you love?

I've seen them on ebay myself and I don't trust the fact they are made in china. Worried about what it in them (that's a change for me lol).

I'm a cosmetic snob myself but since it got such a rave from our beloved Pursebuzz I was def curious about it!

AH! That's too much. Not worth it. I dunno yet but I think I may just for the sake of reviewing it!

She did a fab job but I always like to dabble in and try it myself ;)

I think I will buy one since everyone is so interested in a review ;)

and if it's good I can always pick you up one and ship it for far less than 30!

hi LithiaBlack!

Thanks for reading my blog and thanks for commenting ;) Don't be a stranger I love hearing from readers!

Your english is wonderful! Aw geez I'm sorry to hear it broke :( That's always heartbreaking. At least for me it is ;) I hate breaking makeup!

I think it's a great tool for folks that are scared of color or want a bit of variety. The price is quite nice as well ;)

Thanks for commenting! Many hugs and happy weekend!

Critty, above, had mentioned these are ebay and she is very right. I wonder if the quality is similar? and maybe the cost cheaper?

hey ailove!

I owe you a few messages lovie :) will get to them shortly!

LOL! Me too ;) I dunno if these are minerals though! I think they might be shadows and prepacked by another company and not CS.

I agree 100%! Even a cool kit would be awesome with a mixing agent, palette, and pressing material!

I've never seen one bigger than the mac 16 slot. I have seen quads for $1 from ELF which is kinda awesome for the price. But never anything bigger than a 15 slot/16 slot.

HOLY COW those look nice. But I'm wondering how good they are for the price ;) I know ebay has a slew of these around...Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I feel a review coming on lol!

when i saw her video review, i almost wanted it, but then i thought, now how many shades of all those colors do i already have. and i clenched my teeth and shut down my computer for the night. *whew* although, i had no will power to hold back from the Ben Nye palettes. :0/

awww..muse dear..you are soo sweet..i may give this a goodbye :( rather than paying this huge palette plus the huge cost of the shipping, I may buy something really nice here from Manila :) what do you think? hehehe

Blogger the Muse said...

hey nics!!

But of course :) I think it would be :P I'm not sure but I'm guessing maybe it'll be about $15 USD via airmail? I can see about weighing one if I get it and see the cost ;)

Let me know ;)

hiya gez!

I thought the same thing. I have almost every color in the palette so it would be a bit ridiculous to buy it. But I still wanted it for review purposes hehe!

The Ben Nye I badly want to try but the price is making me sniff slightly! Dunno why either as it's not a bad deal at all!

hi Askmewhats!

How are you love!? I don't blame you! It seems a bit too costly to get this and not really know for yourself if it's good or not ;)

buy something pretty your end :) It'll be cheaper! Good idea!

*hugs*
