Muse, I have a question for you... I don't get your new posts delivered to me via email, but I do subscribe to you with my google reader. Does that count? Do I have to get an email for each post? You are a busy lady and that would be a lot of messages in my very full inbox =)

no sadly not :( you won't get an email for each post :-D It'll just be one daily digest email with all the posts once a day :-D
You can subscribe for the contest only and after the contest is over just drop the subscription :D
