Beauty News: Official Stila Back in Business!
It's official peeps! Stila is back! WWD and BloggingStocks reports that Stila is ready to kick it again.

Recently Stila defaulted on loans from Wachovia and CIT group which lead lenders to foreclose on the company causing chaos for beauty junkies and Stila lovers far and wide.
Stila has been officially sold to New York private equity Patriarch Partners. Stila was originally a label under Estee Lauder but branched out.
BloggingStocks has a report from The Wall Street Journal as saying that "Stila, which maintains a cult following with products such as a browns sugar lip gloss and a pale seafoam blue eyeshadow, joins other high-end niche beauty lines struggling to tempt cash-strapped shoppers. The brand is sold in department stors and through specialty retails such as Sephora."
Ummm shows how much Wall Street Journal knows about beauty...seafoam blue shadow? brown sugar lip gloss? That's def not the highlight of Stila.
Again, Lipstick Indicator or Lipstick Economy comes into play in various articles regarding Stila describing how women cut back on pricer items but turn to affordable items such as drugstore cosmetics rather than higher end brands like Stila which accounts for their recent struggles.
Moral of the story kids is Stila's back! I look forward to it's growth and success in the years to come. The Muse for one is a fan!

I loled when I read about the lipgloss and eyeshadow. The writer clearly just picked 2 items at random!
It's good to know that they get to stick around as I've never tried any of their products before, but your reviews have made me want to!

They really make cute items. I do miss the old style packaging but as of late they have improved incredibly and many releases are very good :-D

I heard news that Stila is pulling out of Singapore. Not sure if that is true, but they did move out of a prominent counter and hid in a little corner of our department store. I feel kind of nostalgic really, because I started out on makeup with Stila, and they really made lovely LE items. They had a very strong brand identity, knew who and what they were, and barely disappointed fans. Although I have since moved on to Japanese makeup brands, Stila still has a special place in my heart. Stila is like my first love, while MAC is a love affair at the disco for me. if that made sense to you, hehe.

wow. how sad. I sure hope that's not true b/c stila has really a cult following in Asia so I'm shocked it might be pulled out of Singapore.
it does make sense :-D it makes perfect sense and I know how you feel, truly :D I sure do hope it isn't bellying up your side :( If anything you can always rely on me for your stila fix :D
