Musings of the Day: Fav Drugstore Mascara (US Drugstore)

Since discovering my favorite drugstore mascara I've wanted to shout the good word of it to all the masses.....well I already have kinda but I'll tell you about it again after the jump!

Ok, I'm speaking of US Drugstore brands here as there are way too many awesome Japanese drugstore mascaras that rock my little world. If you choose it does have to be a US brand...those be the rules kiddies!

My choice would have to be L'oreal Double Extend Mascara, whoa I really like this stuff, sincerely. I can't help myself but this stuff is pretty damn good. I've been using it daily for about a month now and simply lurve it. That's saying something as I normally fart in the general direction of any and all drugstore mascara finds in the US, sorry if you're a lover, I happen to be a leaver. But Double Extend changed my very life and made me a believer that great mascaras may still dwell within a US drugstore....

Brb I think I just heard an angel sing!

Name your fav mascara.

Remember US brands only, no cheating and playing with the big guns, we all know Japanese drugstore mascara rocks it so you must choose a US brand...if you can that is....

It'll be hard but I have confidence that you can do it!

My favorite is Neutrogena's Healthy Volume. Ok, so it's simple :) It gives a nice natural look on me while still defining and opening up my eyes, and I've never had problems with clumps or globs. My favorite thing though is that it is really non-irritating. I have very dry eyes and although I can wear other mascaras, I can definitely "feel" how chemically they are. This one is not fumey at all, which is just rather nice.

Now that American/UK drugstore mascaras aren't in easy access for me, they're all I can think about! There are actually loads that I like:
Maybelline The Colossal
Maybelline Define-a-lash Volume
Max Factor False lash effect a.k.a. Lash Plumper
Max Factor Lash Perfection Volume
Max Factor 2000 calorie
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon black....

only one? Jeez. Ok, I'd go for the Max Factor Lash Plumper. Ultimately my lashes are all about my Shiseido lash curler and mascara base but the Max Factor adds the final crowning glory. I haven't tried the Cover Girl lash blast but I hear it's the big drugstore smash stateside.

I love the L'Oreal Double Extend too! Length is my number one priority with a mascara...and it comes off so easily! (The likkle tubes get stuck in my facecloth though.) I feel like the primer coat either conditions or protects my lashes- they always feel really soft when the tubes come off.

I love playing with drugstore mascaras since if they flop, you can always afford another one.

I don't think I have a favorite drugstore mascara. I used the awful Maybelline Great Lash for years because all the magazines said it was the best. Gross!

After I discovered my Clinique mascara, I haven't felt like experimenting with other mascaras.

hello laura!

Yay! Another fan :-D The only thing I hate is removal as I'm so used to using an oil based remover that I can't get used to simply using some warm water and soap heeh!

I really should indulge further in ds brand mascaras as you're right if it stinks simply toss it!
