Blinc Resurf.A.Stic Review

This has to be thee most laziest products on the market:

What is it Muse?

It's a one step microdermabrasion in a stick! It doesn't get much lazier then that people! And did I happen to mention I love it?

The Muse likes to think she's very anal about her skin care and in all honesty she is aside from the part that she doesn't take time out to exfoliate nearly enough! Exfoliation is a strange thing. Do it too much and you'll dry out your skin, do it too little and you'll see have rough patches, don't do it at all and you'll have dead skin cells and dry skin woes.

I happen to fall into the "do it too much and you'll dry out your skin" group. If I exfoliate my face twice a week I'll end up with flaky skin! Yak! So I tend to do once a week or even once every two weeks but the sad fact is I sometimes just forget to do it. When it comes to my everyday skincare I know what to use in the AM, I know what to use in the PM, and it's a schedule that never changes. I do it twice a day, everyday. When it comes to exfoliating my face I actually have to remember to incorporate it into my daily skincare regime once a week....what a pain...

Now I kinda feel a little bit less likely to forget since Blinc has made an interesting little one step microdermabrastion stick aka the lazy girl's guide to soft skin!

What is it? How do I use it? Tell us Muse, tell us!

It's fairly simple my dears. Simply wet your face and gently press the Resurf.a.stic on your skin moving it around in small circles for one or two minutes. You can press harder for better exfoliation and or be gentle for a softer scrub. Basically the stick whisks away dryness, wipes away nasty dead cells, and reveals smoother, softer skin. After use simply rinse with warm water and you'll be glowing!

The formula of treatment is made up of very fine crystals so the exfoliation process is quite gentle or at least it is for me considering I'm a person who uses Lush Ocean Salt on her face. It also ha a tad bit of a moisturizing feeling as you apply so the crystals are barely felt as you treat your skin. I thought it was ideal for exfoliating my nose and getting at those pesky blackheads! I always find it difficult to exfoliate my nose and this fit quite nice on the contour of my nose and allowed me to rub it around and get at the area. I haven't noticed any difference yet but I hope with continued use it'll dislodge those nasty little buggers and clear up the area.

The product obviously works very well considering after use my facial moisturizer absorbs quickly and doesn't sit on top of my skin the way it normally does when my skin is dry or tight. I also didn't get that tight feeling after use like I do with many systems I've tried in the past.

Sadly, it's not all about raving for the Blinc Resurf.A.Stic. I had one minor rant about the product and I'm sure by now you guessed it. It freaks me out a bit to rub it all over my face and proceed to cap it closed. I'm using the product on a clean face yes but it still does make an anal Muse worry about germs and bacteria. However, the instructions do say to run the stick under water after use and wipe off which is what I did so I feel a bit better about it.

Aside from my minor rant above I'm actually going ahead and Muse Approving this one for purchase as I really liked it and can see myself repurchasing it once I'm done. The convenience and portability of the product gets a huge rave from the Muse plus the fact that I think the easy to use stick could make it less of a chore to remember to exfoliate my face!

Who needs it?

  • Anyone who wants the convenience of a portable and simple exfoliating system
  • Women with dry, flaky patches on their face
  • Those who have pesky blackheads on their nose or face that they are looking to dislodge and whisk away
  • Anyone with clogged pores
  • Women who just want softer skin

The line also happens to include sticks for your body, calluses (knees, elbows, feet), and ingrown hairs. You can find the complete line of Blinc Resurf.a.Stics at
www.blincinc.com

What do you think?

Like the idea of an exfoliating stick?

Would you try something like this?

Have you tried Blinc Resurf.a.Stic already?

Tell the Muse!

This looks pretty cool, I always exfoliate my skin as I have a shower since my skin is nicely steamed and it cuts down on time. Could be a great addition to my shower shelf, I like the idea of Caffiene and Green tea being rubbed into my face in the morning! I also used get the feeling that my moisturiser is sitting on top of my skin instead of being absorbed, especially in the winter when my skin is parched. My mum (an ex-plastic surgeon) advised me to take my skincare regime into the bathroom with me and apply everything to wet skin as soon as I step out of the shower - tone your wet skin and then quickly apply your moisturiser on top to seal in the moisture you get from the shower. It takes a while for the cream to be absorbed since your skin is wet but as long as you massage it in for 30 seconds/a minute you create a moisture barrier and then you can wait for your skin to dry a bit (as you towel your body) before you finish rubbing the cream in. Apparently skin dehydration begins as soon as you leave the bathroom after a hot shower. Moisturising wet skin after a shower is like one of the best kept beauty secrets - who knew! It definately works...

Musey I have an off topic question for you now, I'm going to Tokyo for the first time next month (part of my one-holiday-a-month resolution) and I was wondering if you had any reccomendations as it's a beauty Mecca!

I'm really into skincare, i'm turning 20 this year and i'm focusing on my skin now so that it looks fabulous I hit the 3-0. I love serums and creams that brighten up my skin tone (i'm all about the glow, minus any sparkles on my face!), so any treatments like that would be great.

Do you have any recommendations for Japan-only tinted moisturisers, pressed powders and - in particular - skincare?

Right now i'm using Paradise Regained as my moisturiser, Skindinavia primer (sometimes supplemented with Benefit Moonbeam or some Eyeko touch and glow but i'm thinking of maybe buying the new Chanel Blanc primer), La Mer tinted moisturiser and then a light dusting of Chanel Poudre Universelle.

woah, mammoth comment...

P.S. I forgot to add, if you need anything from Tokyo let me know and i'll ship it to you when I get back! That's if you don't already have someone there that sends you stuff, I imagine you as some sort of Cosmetics Queen with agents all over Europe and Asia sending you the latest swag!

I've been using this stick for about 3 weeks now and I love it! I've used it 3 times a week (alternating with my Lush AOBB), and I really like the results. My skin feels soft and smooth. I use it in the shower, after I've washed my face and I always rinse the stick off and dry it afterwards.

hi youdee!

That's what I do too :) I normally do all my treatments in the shower and I have the same prob with my moisturizer in the winter that it doesn't absorb as well but after a hot shower it normally works well!
great tips hun thanks for sharing :)

Oh that's so fab...can I come with lol :)

Recs:
Jill Stuart
Majorca Majolica
Beatue de Kose
Kiss
Susie NY (fav cheap-o brand)
Gransenbon

Really it's hard to say all of my favs but def check in drugstores you'll be amazed at the selection :)

I honestly have way too many recs for moisturizers, powders, etc Sofina makes a fab line of skincare...it's really a hit or miss :) test and swatch to see what's worth while otherwise I'll be here all typing out favs hehehe!

I honestly don't stray far from Lush for my skincare needs. It's my top skincare for years now and I'll likely not change ;)

la mer is lovely but a bit expensive for me sadly..I'd love to indulge in the eye cream but it's a bit too rich in price for me :(
