Avon Glazewear Diamond Lipstick Review & Swatches

Last week I was excited about the prospect of 24K Gold in my lipstick! This morning I'm excited that I get diamonds in my lipstick too......

Damn, life is good.

I got alot of requests for Beauty Budget finds and I hope so far I've given you what you want. Look at your Muse giving you gold and diamonds at a budget price....doesn't it make you love her more than evers before? Avon Glazewear Diamond Lipstick is $8 USD and delivers a dazzling diamond finish with a moisturizing, pigmented formula.

As much as I loved the new Avon 24K Gold Lipstick I have to say that the formula of the Avon Glazewear Diamond Lipstick is positively dreamy and creamy when compared with it. The formula is so buttery smooth and just glides on beautifully. The finish is so glossy smooth and gorgeous that gloss is completely optional. The color I tried was Ruby Slippers which is a peachy pink shade that makes my skin absolutely glow. The finish has a hint of silver diamond-like shimmer but nothing overly done, it's a barely noticable shimmer. For the most part I felt like the finish was that of a gloss rather than a lipstick. I can't say enough good things about the wonderful formula. Color payoff is equally excellant and the product is nicely pigmented.

If you're looking for a nice inexpensive lipstick with a glossy finish, a touch of shimmer, and great color pay off I highly recommend nabbing one of Avon Glazewear Diamond Lipsticks for yourself! The Muse Approves 'em and thinks they are a rather great find.

Beautiful color, though I think it bugs me that Avon names their peachy-pink colors Ruby. I think of Ruby as red.

I think that's one of my biggest complaints with shopping online, too. Names that don't match the true colors, swatches that don't match the true colors, and no product descriptions.

I recently bought a purse and bath and body gift set from Victoria's Secret. The picture had a purple purse with black trim. This was perfect, exactly what I had in mind. I bought it and when it arrived at my house, it was a black purse with black trim. I contacted Victoria Secret's about it and they told me the pic is wrong on the website, so I can return it, but they won't fix it or add any information to it to let you know it's a black purse and not a purple one. I mean, WTF?

Also, I've noticed only a few makeup sites offer accurate swatches and color descriptions: MAC, Aromaleigh and Meow are the 3 I can think of off the top of my head. They're usually pretty true to color on what you'll get. I think Urban Decay isn't bad. But Too Faced kind of sucks for color descriptions, the color swatches are sometimes hard to decipher. Sephora's descriptions seem hit or miss.

I feel like more people would buy things online if the descriptions were there and if companies made an attempt to have more accurate swatches.

So that's why it bugs me when you see names like Ruby (which makes me think of rubies, the gemstone, which are red), slapped on a peachy-pink color. Unless it's called 'Ruby Red Grapefruit' which would then make me think of the grapefruit juice and a peachy-pink would make sense :P

I really love the glazewear lipsticks! After reading this, I need to get me some of the diamond version. Too bad Avon has tons of skincare sales going on but not so much on makeup.

I still need to mail you the LM sample. I don't know if you are aware of this but I blogged about you last Friday =)

i finally saw an Avon store and stepped inside and got the biggest disappointment in my life! there was virtually nothing except age old products that had been discontinued years ago. but they do have glazewear. not sure if glazewear means glazewear diamond as i didn't pay attention to any of them since there were no testers and all makeup items were inside a locked glass display. couldn't touch any. so i passed and walked out in less than 5 minutes.

this does look nice on you but i think avon is not my kind of makeup now. not hear, no personal touch and the SA couldn't be bothered about me. All the while she was sitting behind the counter. not even a word exchanged.

Dao I just seen now..aw shucks you nearly made me cry :)

I've been so behind on reading blogs lately that if you didn't mention it I might have missed it

Thanks hun, truly thanks *hugs*

I noticed that avon wasn't doing much with makeup...was kinda shocked these were at 8 dollars..whoa...but I bet the new year will bring sales :)

hi jojoba

awww no :( that stinks :( Lord knows when you can't try anything it seems pointless ya know? I like to swatch a bit and play!

geez :( Normally here we have a catalog that someone sells from so again it's hard to actually test items...we don't have a store that I know of...so it's online ordering or catalog..which could mean hit or miss for products since I can't swatch!

If you ever need anything let me know and I'd be happy to help :)

So after your review, I decided to pick up Golden Glow, Beach Plum, Copper Mink and Raisin Glaze in the Glazewewar, and Golden Wine in the Ultra Color Rich for stocking stuffers for myself. Since I have to stock everyone's stocking, including my own, I figured I might as well put in something cute and inexpensive.

So I picked these up and have been using them and really like them. Guess what. I can no longer find them on the Avon site :( Guess they discontinued them :( I think you'd really like Beach Plum. It's such a pretty shimmery lilac color.
