Korres Sugar Plums Gift Set Review & Swatches
I think I missed the memo going around saying how freaking aweome Korres is. Um hello how did I not know about this?
Yeah well I'm thinking I didn't get the memo because this guy is taking care of them!

Anyway. Note to self: Korres is the awesome!
Ok, so now that we established that Korres is my new favorite brand of all time I can get on with my review of the Korres Sugar Plums Gift Set! Holy beautiful Batman! This set is too gorgeous for mere words and what's inside...my the very my! It's sincerely good stuff and you shouldn't bother reading further just head to your nearest Sephora and snatch it up for yourself!
I think a few people had mentioned they were on the bubble about this Gift Set and honestly so was I. I'm guessing a few of your concerns were the fact that plum colored shadow is kinda iffy and you might have also been worried about the gloss not being up to par and the balm just being an add on that you really didn't need. I know these are some things that entered my head while I was playing a game of tag with myself debating on purchasing the set. My main concern was that I don't do plums or purples so well! As much as I love these shades I felt like they might make my dark circles prominent and my puffy eyes even worst looking then they already are!
However, I dove in and decided to purchase the Korres Sugar Plum Gift Set during Sephora's Friends and Family event and I'm so happy I did because it's a sincerely an awesome set and comes with my highest recommendation and Muse Approval for purchase!
The set includes Korres Eyeshadow in Plum, Korres Lip Butter in Plum, and Korres Cherry Full Color Gloss in Plum 27. All the items are highly pigmented which is thrilling as the an entire "All Natural" theme sometimes forsakes quality but not the case with these items! This is the first time I've tried anything by Korres and honestly the quality and inexpensive price tag should have me returning for much more!
Although all the items really impressed me I have to give major props to the Korres Cherry Full Color Gloss in Plum 27 . I'm unsure why they are calling this a lip gloss as it's SO much more then merely a gloss! The color payoff is much like a lip cream and comparable (and possibly better then) to Laura Mercier's Lip Velvet. They are glossy but not so much of a mirror shine more like a a semi-glossy, intensely pigmented lip color. Plum 27 is a plummy maroon with a deep red base that's stunning when paired up with the shadow included in this gift set!
The Korres Eyeshadow in Plum was also richly pigmented and very easy to blend. As I mentioned above I was worried that such a deep shade of purple would make my eyes look quite tired while displaying my dark circles even more but turns out the color lends an aura of mystery and seduction to my eyes. I know, I know Muse and seduction should never be used in the same sentence but honestly the shadow just has a certain sexy, seductive feel that makes eyes literally pop! I used the shade on my own without anything else aside from some black liner on my lower water line and my eyes just sizzled! Truly a great shade and pairs up beautifully with the lip gloss in the kit!
Now the Korres Lip Butter in Plum was the item I was kinda meh about. I honestly don't use balms aside from when I go to bed at night. I find them messy and feel they apply horribly which is why I stick to applying gobs of balm at night to my lips when no one is around to witness it dripping off my lips onto my chin. Korres may have single handedly turned my thoughts around about balm! Whoa! This too was an amazingly pigmented surprised! The butter smooths on lips like a lip cream and you're left with a richly pigmented pout which you can top with a bit of gloss for a real smoking lip look!
For my look below I used everything included in the kit and just added my own mascara, a little blush from the Bobbi Brown Mauve Palette, and a bit of liner on my lower waterline!
All in all I'd say nab this set right away! It's a limited edition set so who knows how long it'll be around! I think the shades are simply gorgeous evening wear for the holiday or anytime really! The colors just work well together and create a very seductive finish! The price is fantastic at well which is $29.50 USD (I paid even less during Sephora's FF!). This one is a must have in the Muse's opinion and I highly recommend nabbing it!
Love it?
Want it for yourself?
Tried it already?
Tell the Muse!

Yay! Glad to see you review this...I have this also, and it IS amazing. I believe there is a 3 pack of Korres glosses on Sephora's website that I am lemming ... alas, they don't stock this brand in the actual Sephora stores in Toronto. You look great!
Everything looks great on you.
I like the Korres body butters.
They are really moisturizing
Wow, plums really suit you, whereas I look like a grey corpse or something haha.
Hi Kerri!
Isn't it FAB!? Did you try pairing up the shadow with anything else..I'm trying to think of good combos :)
I really want the trio too...I seen it and wants it :)
Awww damnit that stinks it isn't around :(
Thanks hun! You should do an FOTD and share it with us :)
thanks karrie :)
I haven't tried 'em but will add them to the list!
w00t!
totally dumb luck Laura :) normally plums make my eyes look really TIRED!
yak!
Kayvid: I would love the lipgloss...the eyeshadow is beautiful on you but I can almost be sure that it will make me look like I've been punched in the eye...Guess I have to pass...My recent crazy purchases are driving me crazy. Need a no buy real bad.
Sold! Thanks so much for the swatches and FOTD. I've been wanting to go with a bolder cherry lip colour for a while and the option of paying what I usually pay for a lipstick and getting a shadow and balm too? Awesome.
I am realllly hoping I can find this in a store where I live in Canada otherwise I will be paying through the nose for it from the US :(
- Shiny
lol kayvid..I really need a no buy too.let's support each other on that :)
You can always purchase the gloss seperate...not this shade but plenty of similiar shades available :)
hi shiny..
the price tag really astounds me as the quality is superb!
If you need any help shout at me :)
will do my best to help!
It's really a nice little deal..and so pretties!
Hi Muse!
I have paired it with Dolce Vita Gloss by NARS (dusty rose tone), Striptease gloss by Nars (nude) and a bold red lippie...hehe. I adore plum, so I've worn it a bunch of times! I also like to put a little bit of white UD liner in the inner bottom corners of my eyes so it's more wearable for day and a bit cooler-toned.
I don't usually pair the gloss and eye shadow together, as I think that's more of a 'night' look for me. So usually I pair a green or bronze shadow with the gloss and liner on the top lid only.
Hope my suggestions help :) honestly, the kit is so fabulous that you can't go wrong :)
Shiny - you can definitely order this via Sephora Canada. I don't think I paid much more than the USD price and it is well worth it :)
hi kerri!
Jotting this all down :) as I have most of what you mentioned! Particularly like the Dolce Vita combo!
OOOO likey the UD white liner! nice combo :)
It's def an evening sort of look..but I...sheepish...wore it to work today!
I like a brown or green with the lippie :)
Totally helps! :) I'm thinking of a little bit gold with the plum shadow...wonder if that'll work!?
I can't believe how great it is, truly shocked.
You ever get the feeling that "all natural" products end up forgoing on the quality...?
Not the case with this...whoa super pigment!
kerri thanks for tipping off shiny! I'm sure this will be super helpful to her :)
yayyy!
Thanks guys,
I just got off the phone with the Sephora store in Toronto that I will be in the vicinity of this month and it is available there!
I'm glad because I was going to ask my brother to get it this weekend in SanFran otherwise.
Canada: $35 w/o tax
US: $29.50 w/o
So with the exchange rate it would be the same price for Canadians :)
yayyyyy shiny! Fantastic!!!!!!!! so glad the price is the same :) It's such a fab deal! It's like $10 bucks each per item USD! So great :)
Do stop back and tell us whatcha think when it arrives?
:)
*happy dance*
Wow! How great is that look! And the choice of blush was perfect. The eyeshadow smudged on the lower lashes looks great too. Makes your eyes look huge and bright. Yay!
hi anomymous!
Thanks so very much ;-) glad you enjoyed the look!
Hugs!
Holy cow!! This is your first Korres foray!? OMG you've been missing out! My love affair with this brand started last year when I read about it in either Glamour or Lucky...can't remember. I bought a gift set in the Guava scent and never looked back. I've tried their hair products too and they are also wonderful. The lip butters are a staple in my house. I have one in every room because they are so incredible. I have been eyeing this set...so glad you reviewed it. I'm all over it.
Try more of the makeup...it really is amazing.
By the way, Ulta sells their products too.
Hi Shefali!!!!!!!!
I KNOW! i missed the boat on this :) I just sometimes steer clear of brands that do the all natural deal..I sometimes feel like when they go that route it ends up forsaking quality but not the case with this! Whoa good stuff!
I'm so diving further in and purchasing more! I want the blushes and foundation next plus want to try some of the hair care..glad you like it b/c that means I will too I'm sure :)
You have to give this one a whirl..plus it's a steal at that price!
heading over to ulta now teehee...wanna see if they have stuff sephora does XD!
This is really pretty! I love the pigmentation in that gloss.
I always put lip balm on before I put down color as I find it makes it glide on easier and seems to help it stick around better.
Muse thanks so much for the reviews. I'd be dying to see a review about the new plum shades!! I see the set is a Sephora exclusive, not sure if we'll get the set in Greece, but I'm sure we'll get the products individually, and I'm dying to try the e/s and the lip butter!! I have 2 more lip butters, LOVE THEM! They have something that make my really dry and painfull lips so smooth! Same with the lipglosses, it must be the cherry oil!!
I'm glad you love Korres!! I really LOVE the Guava Body Butter, if you haven't try it yet, YOU MUST!! It's amazing!!
That eye shade looks amazing on you! Seductive is definitely the right word.
That purple eyeshadow is stunning on you! Makes your brown eyes pop!
oh my gosh! girl you look so chic! the eye make up is total VAAVOOM!!! you look so hot and pretty!!!
thanks dd!
I do the same thing :) It always makes my gloss or lippie last longer and it glides on better too ;)
so the kit is ideal as it includes a nice tinted balm prior to using the gloss!
hi there sophia!
You're most welcome! Isn't it lovely?
I think you will! I looked up the items and they are selling alone..it's not as cheap but still the shades are awesome :)
I'm pretty impressed with the pigmentation of the lip butters whoa :) plus they do feel great on my dry lips!
hehe will add the guava body butter onto the wish list ;-) I have a huge korres wish list going now lol!
Thanks for the comment :)
