Holiday Collection 2008: The Body Shop Sparkling Seductive Collection
The Body Shop has updated it's website with the new holiday collection which includes a slew of new makeup items! In particular the new palettes have caught my eye although they do look somewhat matte I have hopes that the title of the collection "Sparkling Seductive" means that the finish has a sparkle! I'm disappointed I didn't indulge in last year's palettes as they were quite nice so I keep hope alive that these are equally as gorgeous!
The palettes are $24.50 USD each and come in two variations with five eyeshadows each. The first palette looks warm and second palette has a cooler, evening feel. I'm partially to the warm one with the gold an coral, very nice!
The collection also includes a sparkle lipgloss in two shades for $16.50 USD each. These aren't too appealing to me since I'm not big on heavy duty sparkle in my glosses however the dusky rose shade is quite lovely!
The Body Shop Sparkle & Shimmer Powder Puff looks interesting! This one is a loose gold powder that can be used on face, body, or cheeks! Available for $18 USD.
And finally two glitter eyeliners are available for $15.50 USD each.
Although a majority of the collection doesn't particularly thrill me, I am excited about the palettes and curious about the finish so I will be heading in store to have a little peek for myself!
All in all a rather nice little selection of goodies from The Body Shop!
What do you think?
Want any of it?
Love it?
Not so much?

I checked out the palettes in my local Body Shop and they're really big (as long as your hand) and heavy. They are quite shimmery, some of the shades are really gorgeous. :) I ended up buying both of them (albeit not in the shop, but Ebay cause they're much cheaper there) and also really liked the shimmer powder and the pink gloss, but haven't got those yet. There's also a glitter roll on powder which I'm also contemplating. :)
hi antacska!
how are you?
This is fab news! I haven't been to TBS in ages :) but I'm quite curious about both as they look amazing :)
Mus check ebay if it's cheaper :) I was looking at the glitter roll on just now..hmm!
I'm really excited they you think they are good..makes me want 'em more..I was disappointed I didn't indulge last year as they were gorg as well!
Hey Izzy! I saw this collection yesterday at our local TBS. I like the colour pay-off and texture of the eyeshadow palette as well as the glitter eyeliners. What I don't like is the price!! (TBS in Ireland is by far the most expensive in the world!)
Hiya Liz!
Long time no speak :)
I can't wait to see 'em they look lovely!
What's the cost your end?!
The palette retails in the UK at £18 each and the eyeliners £10 each.... get this, at my end, the palette is €29.50 and the eyeliner is €17.50. The current exchange rate is 1GBP = 1.20EUR. Can you say rip-off????
I found this out after buying their Super Volume Mascara, which normally retails at €15.40 (£10 in the UK and $14 in the US). I only got it because I had a membership discount of 10% and there was a promotion of buy €40 get €8.50 off. But seriously, I wouldn't buy anything here in Ireland if I could help it!
Fine thank you. Hope you're well. :)
The UK is probably in the contest for the highest cosmetics prices too! The palettes cost £18 each! :O I got them for £9.99 each on Ebay! ;)
Oh and forgot to say before that here you can get the eyeliners in 3 colours, ocean, silver and gold!
hey liz!
WHOAAAAAAAAAAA not good!
That's insane! Honestly I can never get over the jacked up prices in Europe! They make me shudder in fear!
hi Anitacska!
I'm great :) I'm glad you're doing well!
So long as I don't read the news I'm in good spirits lol!
I think it's nuts how much the UK charges on some items. I avoid purchasing much makeup when I visit friends in London b.c of the prices :(
The only affordable item is Lush!
Ooo we only have the ocean and silver not the gold damn!
I'm glad you nabbed these at a good price...if you need any help or cps just yell at me :)
Hugs!
oh no, there is nothing matte about these lovelies :) I have some swatches here if you want to take a closer look.

Oooh, I love the spring collection!
Lipglossbitch: What shades are the shimmer cubes?
Muse: Sorry to be dim, but what is cps? *blushes*
HI muse~!
i just got the cool one last week, and this is my very first eye shadow~! YEA~
When i tried in the store they are really good, but the day be4 i wear the dark gray color alone, and it only last for little bit more than half of the day, then the powder dropped and i end up with a really dark dark circle :( so sad... ToT(crying face...)
do u have an idea why it happens?
maybe i should use a brush?(i use my finger tips and the brush come with the shadow)
or maybe because i apply too much... -.-?
or i just need to practice more?
and today i wore all-over-face color from bareMinerals as eye shadow just to give a bit color on my eyes and it didnt drop.....
Helloo! I'm a new reader to your blog and I love your reviews. You're super cute too! ^^
I just saw the TBS collection here yesterday, and I got attracted to the eyeliners. They were very pretty. I liked the silver the most. We have the green and the gold one here too in Malaysia. The palettes were nice but it looked a bit bulky for my liking....but the colours were pretty, so you should check them out ^^
hi Anitacska!
I might have to scour the evilbay to see if the Spring Collection is available :)
cps..=custom purchase :) when someone gets something for you from another country ;) and you pay them via paypal or in a swap from your side of the world :)
Hope that makes sense hehe!
hi kat!
fantastic :)good way to start your collection b/c it looks sincerely gorgeous!
Hmm sounds like maybe you have oily lids and the color is creasing/fading? Do you prime your lids before applying? Primer helps it stick way longer :)
Sometimes applying shadow with a sponge applicator is great as it helps pack color on really well!
It's strange that it's only happening with the one shadow..I highly recommend using a primer first to see if that helps you :)
Hugs!
hi there Intan!
Welcome :) Thanks sooooooo much *hugs*! Appreciate your lovely compliment!
The liners look fab :) I really love glitter liners ;-) I def want to see the palettes in person as they look really pretty!
thanks for the comment :)
Hope to talk to you again soon!
Thanks for the explanation. :) It makes a lot of sense. Also thanks for the offer. Same here, if you need anything from the UK (although at these prices... hm...).
I now remember seeing one of the blushes from the spring collection on ebay, although then I didn't realize it was that, might try and search for it and see if it's still available. It did look pretty. :)
no probs :) Thanks! Appreciate the return offer :)
I'm sure it'll be on evilbay! almost everything ends up there ;) I must admit they did! Now I kinda regret not indulging :P boo on me!
