Physicians Formula Circle RX Concealer Review

A new day and a new concealer lovies!

Time to continue on with my quest for the perfect concealer.

Here's a cheap one for you that works pretty good. Excited? Don't be too hyped! It has it's flaws sadly.

Physicians Formula Circle RX Concealer covers virtually everything and anything and stays on all day. It's one of the concealers I grab for when I need SERIOUS coverage. If you're sporting major baggage, deep, dark circles, and just generally bad problems with your under eye area here in lays your solutions.

This stuff sincerely covers anything and everything. It's extremely pigmented and blends easily into the skin creating a very matte, fresh look to your under eye woes. It's a yellow based concealer which we all know helps combat dark circles but this does double duty at fighting off severe dark circles and any other drama you have going on under your eyes. Although the color appears to be very yellow it does blend in well and creates good coverage that lasts at least 10 hours or more. The formula is moisturizing enough but I did find it quite drying under my eyes however if you have younger skin this might not be a problem for you. The formula is extremely dense as well and lacks the watery texture that most liquid concealers sport. It's like a thick cream almost which accounts for ease of application.

Overall, it's a rather great concealer that does have a few flaws.

The packaging design is both good and bad. One good thing is the very nifty slanted applicator that makes applying easy. Swipe under your eye, blend, and go. Nice. However, the lid is so difficult to get off that you'll end up removing both the lid and applicator if you tug too hard. Major flaw in my opinion and rather annoying as well.

Secondly, the formula is drying to my eye. If you have dry skin you might want to use this only when you need the 12 hour sleep effect look otherwise avoid it as a daily concealer.

Lastly, it does contain a cocktail of parabens that may turn you off to purchasing this.

Aside from this rants I do think the concealer is a good deal at around $7-9 USD. It does a superior job of covering EVERYTHING and anything plus it has sincerely fantastic wear time.

Is it worth picking up?

Yes, for the price it's worth having on hand for the days you get an hour or two of sleep and need to look awake and fresh!

Tried it?

Like it?

Not really?

Tomorrow......Bobbi Brown Concealer......Worth the cash? We'll see!

hi muse! it's me millie. I finally decided to start a blog cuz i got tooootally bored one day. it's kinda alot harder than i thought to think of things to write about for makeup haha. considering my camera isn't the best at taking pictures too.
i went to sephora the other day when i drove down to buffalo and i got a sample of the purity foaming cleanser. i'd actually thought it would smell yummy like the other products that philosophy has.
do you happen to know what kind of skin type that cleanser is for?
thanks!!

Hey Miss Muse,

I love this concealer, but I use it in the light shade, not the yellow and then I top it off with Dior SkinFlash pen and it makes my circles disappear like magic! On days when they are not too bad, I just use the SkinFlash ....

Big hugs,
Critty :)

PS I am stalking you, oh I mean following you, on Twitter now ;)

I have this concealer and I know what you mean about the thickness and dryness. I sometimes mix it with some primer or moisturizer to thin it out a bit...

So if you have normal to dry skin would this be a bad product to try?

Also, completely off topic, have you tried the Vera Wang Princess - Glittery Shimmer Stick? I really wanna check this out because it sounds divine.

Hi there,

I might skip this particular concealer as I already have skin that is as dry as the sahara, but I might not skip it either...you and the lemmings you generate...

I like your idea of a shimmery eye, something lighter and more snow queen-ish. Maybe we should start a bunch of makeup petitions...

I agree that price raises are not cool. Especially when there's less for a higher price. Ugh. As if the price of gas wasn't killing us all alone...

I wasn't overly impressed by Givenchy's Denim Fetish for spring. Not exactly spring-y colors. But they always redeem themselves for fall and holiday. I rather like the pop gloss crystal but am not such a big fan of pop gloss. They haven't added any new colors to normal pop gloss. Pop gloss crystal is a better formula.

I will be watching to see which JS palettes you got. I have Gold Brocade on order and am lemming the others, especially Aqua Crystal. Flash Veil is darker, which is why I like it.

I think you'll like the gold mix blush better. Fresh Apricot and the gold one both have good pigment, but of course I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.

Yes, the red CD palette is just too pretty! I might wait until closer to fall peak colors so I can celebrate the colors with it. I'm such a geek.

As for the Sephora catalog, they described one of the Master tools items wrong (they were describing a concealer pencil instead of the item it was), showed the wrong baked 9 palette, and a couple of other boo-boos.

I'm waiting for the 21st and 22nd because it's the Cosme Decorte, Magie Deco, Lunasol, and KP release days. It's a long three weeks between the Jill Stuart release and theirs.

Thank goodness tomorrow is Weds...although Fri will be much better.

Take care!

Love ya!

Oh no, drying! I could never use it... Today I'm testing a new one from NVEY Eco, we'll see how that turns out! I'm curious about the BB one and also the LM Undercover Pot. Has the Muse tried?

MWAH MWAAAH!

Omg it comes in a light shade? I thought yello was the only color available!

Interesting I'd have never thought to add some Dior on top! Will try that :)

hey dd!

Yea I'd say so. I have dry under eyes and only use it when I need serious coverage otherwise I avoid it.

Mmm I haven't even seen it in all honesty. I don't really like princess :P which prob is why I haven't seen it ;-) Is it a stick with shimmer in it? You should grab some of the new crystalizer from Jelly Pong Pong if you want a bit of shimmer! Lurve that stuff!

morning bets!

Ditto! I keep this around for the days I need 12 hour sleep effect ;) otherwise I rarely use it. Only when I'm suffering badly from baggage and dark circles. And it's not bad a price to have around either ;)

LOL I'm with you where can I sign up!

Less for more is obscene. If they raised the price and kept the size I'd prob still rant but not as much :P

Those jars are the size of piggie samples!

Well not too bad..how's it there? We are at about $3.83 or so!

Ditto. Which accounts for why I never blogged it :P It's kinda sitting gathering dush!

Pop crystal is the one I have beef with I believe. It's always so drying :P and not wet or emollient.

I got gold brocade and I'm in love and aqua crystal. I was going for Flash Veil but it was sold out! I was kinda relieved that after seeing the pictures the darkness was what kinda turned me off. It's very nice but Gold Brocade is what I expected from Flash veil.

I love the shimmer on the mixed blushes. Wish it was all the way through :) I haven't yet tried it as it's too pretty hehe!

Oh no you aren't! i feel the same way :) I hate wearing fall stuff now...ruins the season for me hehe!

Oh lord! Sephora has been known to do that occasionally. Obviously a crummy editing job :P

Aha! I'm not indulging in KP this year. I never even used the kp palettes from last year eep! Too pretty :) Plus the colors from this year kinda kept me from indulging. Have too many of the same variations.

It is indeed :(

Almost over the hump now darlin' :)

Love ya!
