The Muse's Makeup Stashed Into One Tiny Cabinet

Last week I told you that The Container Store is having 25% Off your entire in store or online purchase. It's still ongoing if you'd like to indulge btw, up to April 13th w00t!

I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to indulge in a Bisley Media Cabinet or a Helmer Cabinet from Ikea. I finally decided to throw my hard earned cash on the Bisley since it's incredibly sturdy, very tiny, and fantastic for stashing away my makeup!

Jump ahead for the deets and pictures of my Bisley stuffed full of goodness!

The Bisley Media Cabinet is meant for collectors, particularly collectors of stamps or baseball cards. I don't think Bisley was thinking anyone would want to stash cosmetics in their fine cabinet but that's exactly what I decided to do. The cabinet is costly and even after discount it was an obscene amount to pay but it organized about 40% of my makeup stash and made my life alot easier so that in fact makes it priceless.

The unit is super duper tiny! I'd say it reaches from my ankle to my upper thigh. I'm 5"1 so it's not exactly a whole lot of leg we are talking about here (exact measurements: 11" x 15" x 23-1/4" H).

I feel guilty but I ended up also purchasing some of the dividers that are sold separately from the unit. Each divider has different slots for storing small items into. They have various styles of these dividers to customize your cabinet. They are rather nice and make organization key but I'd much rather they include these with the purchase of the cabinet.

Anyway! Without further delay here's some pictures of everything stored away nice and neat.

I'd honestly love to indulge in another cabinet to organize the rest of my monster stash but I think it's a bit too much of an indulgence. Now I did avoid the Helmer from Ikea since it comes with the drama of putting it together plus I don't think it's nearly as sturdy as the Bisley. But maybe I'll just get the Helmer for my second round of storage as the Bisley was rather expensive.

How do you store your stash?

Currently, I have a tackle box (like for fishing) to store the majority of it. I also have 2 little 3 drawer storage things from Target on my vanity that I have stuff in. I have a binder for my mineral makeup samples. I think I have some train cases for other stuff, and then I have the snap-it organizers for my nail polish. I think my nail polish comes up to about my mid-thigh. I also have a few little divider things on my lower vanity shelf that I keep my eyeliner pencils, TheBalm Stainiac, Tarte Cheek Stain, and TFSI in.

The green eyed monster is rearing it's ugly head!

My collection isn't anywhere near as big as yours, so I can fit all of mine into a couple of acrylic drawers from Muji. They're great because they're stackable, so when I run out of room I just plonk another on the top :D

so on type of the hefty price, did you have to buy all of the inserts? If so, that's one expensive make-up storage. I'm not sure hubby would be okay with that. :-)

I do need SOMEthing, though. Currently, I have make-up in several places. I have one of those metal make-up boxes as well as wicker baskets in my bathroom holding my make-up.

Girl you are just ASKING me to come around and rob you for your stash. Those pictures combine the two greatest loves of my life: make-up and organisation.

My own stash is currently split across the world but what I have with me is organised into cute card boxes from Daiso, with homemade cardboard organisers and dividers inside adapted from EnkoreMakeup's (from YouTube) tutorials.

I'd be all over those Bisley organisers. Back in the UK, I kept my stash in clear acrylic Muji drawers which double up as show cases!

Aww, you're so cute! Gonna take a trip to Soho to go to muji now? :D

That's one amazing cabinet!

My stash is divided up among a few different methods of storage:

-MMU/Loose Powders/Loose Blushes are in 2 little 3-drawer containers on my bathroom counter

-Lippies are divided up between 2 larger 3-drawer containers and are stored in a cabinet

-E/S, Pigments, Cream/Gel Liners and Face Palettes are in my large faux leather Caboodles Train Case (the biggest one they sell) that's now kinda broken :*(

-Blushes, Bronzers, and Highlighters are stored in a medium sized metal Caboodles Train Case... It's completely jam-packed!

-BE Shadows/Liners (don't have too many) are in the box that came with the Bare Crystals Collection (2-drawer box)

-Liquid Foundations, Concealers, Primers and Liquid Luminizers are stored in a cute little box underneath my bathroom counter

-Mascaras, Liners, and Shadesticks are stored in Dancing Tealight Holders from BBW on my bathroom counter

-Brushes are also stored in Dancing Tealight Holders from BBW on top of the 2 3-drawer containers that hold my minerals, Bukis sit in front of the glass holders

-Everyday MU (products currently testing and staples, like UDPP and Silica Powder) and my MAC 15-pans sit in a little basket on top of my bathroom counter, so I don't have to dig for them :)

My MU is really disorganized in all reality, especially if I want non-staple MU and have to go digging through my traincases (no counter space to put the traincases on!). I'd want a MU cabinet, but there isn't enough room in my bathroom or bedroom!

It was a bit of an over indulgence on my part and I actually wish I can get get another one for more of my stash but it's way too much $$$ Ikea has a helmer one for $39.99 so if the hubby is suavy with a screwdriver get that one and he can put it together for you :-D
