mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom Review

The Muse sure is working hard at finding good budget beauty finds. I'm trying guys, I'm really trying. Many of you have e-mailed me asking please can I do more budget beauty finds and I've been seriously doing my homework and searching out cheaper options that work well for the price but it's hard work and about 95% of the time I end up disappointed.

One such case of disappointment recently was my test of mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom. This one really sounded like a nice find plus the price sure was sweet but sadly it's a no go.

Read ahead to find out what I thought!

mark is Avon's younger sister company that has a wide variety of items available for a younger crowd of makeup junkies. Almost everything I've every purchased from mark has been a winner as the quality is great, the price is wonderful, and quality is most definitely there.

Recently, when I noticed the release of mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom I decided to give it a go since I'm quite a big fan of mark Glossblossom I automatically assumed that mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom would be a rave. Sadly, it turned out to be a waste of $6.

mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom mimics Smashbox O-Glow offering a tinted gel blush that reacts with your skin's chemistry to give your face a natural pink flush. On the plus side of the pink flush you'll also get a hint of golden shimmer, take that Smashbox O-Glow! Pink cheeks and gold shimmer! w00t! Yes, well the gold shimmer effect may be there but the pink cheeks not so much.

The texture of the product feels pretty much like Smashbox O-Glow with that slightly silicon feel but a good deal more gel-like and quite greasy so don't try applying this over foundation as it'll smear terribly. I tried out a dab at first with no results so of course I proceeded to apply a good dime size amount on my cheeks to see if that would help, again nothing. Aside from a faint gold shimmer the product fails at offering a pink flush, in short it does absolutely nothing.

The idea is fabulous combining a pink stain with faint golden shimmer but sadly it fails to work at all and does absolutely nothing aside from leaving behind a greasy feeling and a tiny bit of gold sparkle.

At $6 USD it's not like I broke the bank with the purchase but I can't help but feel what a waste it was. Truly a budget beauty find gone terribly wrong.

Skip this one, not worth your cash!

No stash, but definitely a trash.

Maybe it needs more heat to activate, and it's too cold out there right now ...
