Cargo Plant Love Bronzer, Eyeshadow, and Lipstick Review

Green goes glam with the new Cargo Plant Love Cosmetics Collection! Cargo's Plant Love Collection is one of the few organic/natural lines I've tried that's actually really, really good.

Normally I find that collections that embrace their green friendly side end up forsaking quality but I was pretty impressed with the quality and performance of the items I tried out from the line.

Jump ahead to hear my review!

The entire Plant Love Collection is natural in origin including it's packaging. Plant Love is free of parabens, phthalates, petro-chemicals, synthetic dyes, and fragrances. The packaging on each item is made from polylatic acid which is a polymer made up entirely from corn! Soak the box from your purchase in water and plant it! It's embedded with wildflower seeds. Pretty cool right?

I'm honestly not a fond fan of bronzer as you may already know from reading my past reviews however I've taken baby steps to embrace the bronzer world. When I tried out Cargo Plant Love 100% Natural Origin Bronzer I was a bit skeptical and worried as the shade isn't particularly flattering in the pan. The color is a dull brown without a hint of shimmer, you know that the Muse minus shimmer is never a pretty event. However, I felt determined to give this a try and I was quite pleasantly surprised and shocked how much I loved it.

The shade is actually quite natural, sheer, and easy to blend. I actually used it conjunction with a tiny bit of my Bobbi Brown Rouge Pot. I applied a bit of the Rouge Pot to my cheeks and topped it with this. The bronzer deepened the rouge and created a very soft focused, healthy, glowing look. This is made with natural terracotta ingredients minus harmful parabens. Considering the product is so sheer it creates a glow rather than going overboard into the land of Oompa Loompa as some bronzers are known to do. I liked the overall effect and I'm actually delighted that I liked it so much.

Now the real star of the show are the Cargo Plant Love 100% Natural Origins Eye Shadow. Oh. My. God. So good. You really need to try these out. They blend like an absolute dream! The formula is so light yet manages to have sincerely great color payoff. The shadow glides onto the eye beautifully well and blends perfectly. I tried a few colors which I'll review for you in a second post but the shade I was most in love with was Parakeet which was a beautiful orangy copper with a nice shimmer finish. The shade is ideal for a warm Summer look.

The last product I tried was the Plant Love Lipstick. Two dollars from every sale of the lipstick sale benefits the St. Jude Children's Hospital. The formula of the lipstick is paraben-free which makes it a great find however I wasn't too captivated by the formula. It has great color pigmentation and gives a nice rich color to lips however the texture was a tad bit too hard for me and didn't feel too moisturizing on my lips. However, considering how natural it is I do think its well worth a repurchase. The shade I tried was Sagarmatha, a rosy taupe shade.

For my look below I used the Plant Love Bronzer on my cheeks, forehead, and face. On my eyes I'm using Plant Love Eyeshadow in Parakeet and on my lips I have on Plant Love Lipstick in Sagarmatha. I'm looking quite like Summer in the dead of Winter but I just loved how the look came out overall thanks to the great effect of the bronzer and the beautiful shade of shadow!

All in all I think the line is pretty incredible and well worth checking out for yourself especially if you're "green" friendly. Although it's quite natural and organic it doesn't forsake quality in anyway. After trying out a few pieces I'm wanting to get to Sephora to explore further!

Cargo Plant Love is available now from Sephora or visit www.cargocosmetics.com for further info!

The Cargo Plant Love Collection is Muse Approved for purchase! Loves it!

hi syn!

It's kinda funky that the packaging can be planted and a little plant will grow out of it :) hehe!

I think my gloss topcoat made it look a bit natural and lighter ;)

Thanks for the comment hun!
