Musings of the Day: The Makeup Bag
This actually isn't as hard a question as I thought it would be when I was originally writing it out...Jump ahead to read why!
When I first asked myself What was the most important thing in my makeup bag? I started to panic! How could I just pick one thing? But than I realized, wait a sec, I don't carry a slew of cosmetics with me in my bag anyway so what am I so worried about?
If I had to pick thing it would be cheek stain. It's completely multitasking so I can give a hint of color to my cheeks and lips and at the very least I look healthy and fresh so it's probably the most important item in my bag. Although my makeup doesn't last all day, my skin is very clear so I don't need to keep touching up with powder or foundation. I chew my gloss off almost an hour after it's on so it's important to keep one stashed away but I find that once it's off I get too busy to actually reapply so unless I am going out after work I don't retouch it. I carry a compact mirror but that's honestly available anywhere...in my car, in a bathroom, etc..where can't you find a mirror nowadays right?
So stain it is ;) Works on my cheeks and lips and makes me go from dull to lovely!

i'm addicted to my lash curler. i carry it in my purse all week and i actually have a backup one at home (though it doesn't work too well- one of those silly self-heating ones but i was too lazy to refund it). runners-up are concealer (L'Oreal True Match) and mascara (whatever i'm using) for making the most difference between just-woke-up and polished

For me that IS hard, very hard....I´d defnitely need lipgloss, I´d die without it in under an hour approximately, so I never leave the house with three to four glosses stashed in my coat, my bag, my baby´s diaper bag (nifty, ha) and probably my baby´s coatpocket too, at the very least! But that´s not counting all the other items that are indispensable, like powder, blush and concealer, ugh, what to leave???
Thank God I don´t have to decide for real, this stressed me out enough already!

Well, my mom always tell me to powder up my face. Without it, I look not-so-done. But at the end of the day, I'd say I love my tinted lip balm more. It gives me sheer color on lips, a little bit of shine to pick up my face. Well, I think that's a done face for me. ;)
A lipstick or gloss (currently its Laura Mercier Stickgloss in Black Orchid) - I don't wear makeup daily otherwise. Which is why its a bit hard to explain why I have a ton of it lol

MAC Blot Powder.
Sadly, I'm an oil slick... and this is the best chance for me looking halfway decent throughout the day.
(2nd place would be lipgloss. I've got 6 of em stashed in my MU bag in my purse right now... LOL!)

LOL no offense hun but that's so weird...hehe I can't believe you carry it with you! My curler is used once in the morning and that's it :) I find that really interesting a little funny!
I was going to say concealer too but my concealer holds out well so I rarely touch it up!

My lipstick and/or gloss of the day because they are the only things that I need to reapply.
I used to carry 10,000,000 things with me but I didn't use any of them so I bought a teeny make up bag that my mirror takes up half of so I'm not tempted to carry my body weight in make up around ;) x x
Well, of course everything is important. But my most important is UDPP. Otherwise my eyeshadow will be a hot mess in under 3 hours.
well yes, i only actually use concealer once a day, but it makes the BIGGEST difference. the curler i don't use every day even, i just like to have it with me in case (it's been wet and rainy lately- bad for curl!).
i'd say my cherry nivea lipbalm in a stick. it smells delish and has a bit of colour plus it keeps my puckers guarded from the wintercold. too bad it doesn't have spf... in the summer i'd switch to the mac lipbalms in the mini jars with the black top. hiromix xox

I wish I could get into the groove of reapplying my gloss and lippie..I chew it off and fail to reapply unless I am going out later in the day.
LOL! I totally relate..I used to carry a heap too but I've cut back years ago and only carry around a mirror, gloss, powder, and stain :)

I always carry gloss with me. I can't stand my lips to be nude if I've got to go into a meeting. Though you're right, it's hard to pick just one. I also feel that my eyeliner is pretty important. If I'm wearing just basics I've been known to just wear eyeliner and lipgloss and nothing else.
For me it has to be lip gloss! That stuff wears off so quickly!
Most def. my concealer! my labello lip balm is a close second though, I hate dry lips!!
Physician's Formula pressed powder. Never leave the house without it.

Hmmmm thats a hard one coz I always have a ton of cosmetics wih me and my emergency make up kit at work (in case any sexy doctors want to buy me a drink)I cant leave the house without concealer and mascara as I look dead otherwise as my blond eyelashes look non existant but at the moment I carry round my too faced glamour to go pallette. I am a bit of a cosmetic junkie

Hmm...the only beauty product I carry with me is whatever lip colour I'm wearing that day! ^_^
Since I don't wear a lot of makeup at the AM, a lipgloss is very crucial. I think people just assume that I have lots of makeup on when they see some gloss :)

Toothpaste and toothbrush:) And, of course, a makeup product...I have to agree with you that a lip and cheek tint is the best to have in your bag. I've been using a Vicent Longo for the last couple of weeks and I'm in love:) Must add a lipbalm to that as well!
