Chanel Facettes D'or Highlighter Gold Fever Review

I reviewed Chanel Gold Highlighting Powder last week and maybe you were thinking to yourself "but I don't like loose and shimmery..." That's completely ok maybe you like pressed and sparkly instead! In that case you might want to check out Chanel Facettes D'or Highlighter Gold Fever which is pretty similar but in a press format!

Chanel Facettes D'or Highlighter Gold Fever is the same texture and format as Chanel's popular powder blush. The powder has the look and feel of a baked powder with a beautifully silky texture and a nice sparkle of gold. The gold doesn't have much pigmentation as this is a highlighter not a blush and the results are simply a subtle shimmer to cheeks and face or if you so please, eyes! I noticed that the product applies beautifully on my eyes as a shimmer so you can multitask with this by using it on your face, cheeks, and eyes. For the most part the shimmer is very fine and you aren't left with sparkle overload all over your face but just a simple sweep of gold across cheek bones. I really love the Chanel Gold Highlighting Powder but I have to say I really like the mess free application of the Chanel Facettes D'or Highlighter and I think it's rather a nice item to have for more subtle looks considering the loose powder contains more sparkle and shimmer!

The price is $50 USD which is about $8 USD more than the regular blushes in the line up. You're probably wondering if you need both the loose and the pressed powder and honestly for me it unquestionable about wanting both but you may want to indulge in just one. I guess the best best is ask yourself what type of finish you want, which format you like best (loose or pressed), and what sort of look you're going for. If you're a collector of Chanel cosmetics I'm sure you've already made the choice to just get both.

All in all I really loved this one and I'm Muse Approving it for purchase as I like having the option of creating a simple look using the press powder or a more bolder shimmery look using my loose powder!

For my look below I used the Chanel Facettes D'or Highlighter powder on top of my blush (cheeks) and on my eye as a shadow.

How about you? Love the pressed powder or more of a loose powder fan?

Love all the gold?

Not so much?

Hi Muse,

These are two of the recycled products I mentioned earlier.

This one in particular is an exact dupe of "El Dorado" from a few years back. Exact dupe.

The loose powder is very, very, very close to Chanel's #37 Merveille loose powder from last Holiday's collection.

Don't get me wrong, I love them both!

But as a Chanel-aholic for many, many years (I have just about everything), I simply cannot and will not repurchase these products.

Very disappointing especially in light of the fuss made over their new creative director.

I hope you enjoy your Chanel powders as much as I do!

Another gorgeous item from Chanel! Honestly I've never really been into gold. I'm more of a silver person. Think I'll pop by the Chanel counter this weekend to have a look! :)

You look great in it! Just enough gold to give that glow. :)

P.S. u've got mail! :)

It looks so tempting!
I just indulged in the Dior Night Diamond Powder today, so I´d better restrain myself.
Btw, you are not missing much with the pink color, the texture is different to the beige one, more gritty, the shimmer is not as fine and it feels kind of crumbly. So I only got the beige one, although I was fully prepared to shell out for both.
If I still find the Chanel Gold Powder in the US, they are MINE!!!

Hi Laurel!

I don't have El Dorado so luckily it's brand new for me :) but I feel your pain. I really hate dups of items especially when they are highly LE I use the term loosely!

I hadn't heard news of the new creative director..do share :)

Thanks lovie! I'm loving all the gold so far! w00t!

hey Serene!

I love silver myself as I associate it with cools and I think I look better in cooler shades than warmer but gold just has that certain something about it that makes it difficult to resist!

Thanks hun :)

Looking forward to hearing your adventures at the counter..do stop by and tell us whatcha think :)

Okee dokee will go and check!
