Sugar Sweet Cheeks Baked Blush Review

I simply adore Sugar's new Sweet Cheeks Baked Blush!

I seen these while browsing Sephora's website recently and I couldn't resist picking up both shades available. They did a truly amazing job with these and I hope to see more colors added in the future!

Each generous size compact contains one baked blush that has two shades of color. You can use the shades together or seperate to create various looks! I personally liked the effect of swirling my brush around both shades to create a deep blush shade that can be applied sheer or built up to create a popping look on your cheeks! I deem these suitable and pure perfection for those with darker skin tones! The two shades available are Cupcake and Gingerbread. Cupcake is more of a frosty pink shimmering finish and not pigmented to work alone as a blush but more as a highlighter and Gingerbread, my personal favorite, is a beautiful combination of copper and cranberry. Gingerbread creates a beautiful peach glow on my cheeks that's absolutely stunning. For once in my life I'm not obsessed with having paler skin, I'm actually wishing I had more of a deeper skin tone as I think these would be amazingly flattering on dark tones.

Left hand swatch shows what the colors look like blended together, Right hand side displays colors separate.

Normally baked cosmetic products do not have the best color payoff however Gingerbread happens to have amazing color payoff and I personally think multitasking the compact as an eyeshadow would be awesome. Both shades compliment each other brilliantly so why not get your money's worth and use it on your face and cheeks! The formula is silky and smooth, blends wonderfully well, and has just the right amount of shimmer to create a beautiful glow. These are $24 USD and since the compacts are pretty generous in size I'd say well worth the price.

I like that Sugar was thinking out side the Fall Collection Look box and created colors that are unique and completely flattering for the cooler weather.

Sugar Sweet Cheeks Baked Blush, particularly Gingerbread, is definately Muse Approved for purchase!

Kayvid(MUA): I am unbelievably happy that you reviewed these. I own the Gingerbread adn am crazy about it. I love it! It's a huge pan too and will never be over. I too thought it would function well as an eyeshadow. However your swatch of gingerbread makes it look a bit on the brown/bronze side...my swatches look more like a cranberry metallic color.

hello Kayvid!

Yay I'm so glad the review was helpful and you were excited to read it!

Me too! The gingerbread is the best of the two for sures!

The pan is as typical as large as the other sugar compacts but they are extremely generous still and will last 100's of years hehehe!

Agreed 100% It's my camerra that doesn't do the colors justice..it's very cranberry with hints of dark copper with a metallic shimmering finish ;)

I haven't tried it on my eyes yet but I'm looking forward to it!

Thanks for the comment! It's been a while since I talked to you in my comment box!

Kayvid(MUA): LOL! Just looking at pics of Gingerbread makes me so happy...I'm crazy that way I guess :-)
Oh I may not always comment but I read your blog everyday.
BTW The lavender base for face brightening, I tried it only once and I had some skin flakies from some treatment I was using and it exaggerated them. I'm waiting for smooth skin so that I can apply it well and see how it works then.

Also, a new LUSH store opened close to me and I'm excited about going there. I want recommendations from you. I loved Coalface when I had used it but with time my skin got used to it. Any other reccos? Esp. in face masks? Facial moisturizers? Thanks in advance!

Kayvid: I have a combination skin with extremely oily nose and partly oily forehead.
I have tried Fresh Farmacy and within a week it stopped being effective on me...dunno why...I love the Calamine smell of it though.
I have never tried AOBS and would love to try it...if you think that'd work for my skin...
Also I'd love to hear what face masks you like. Thanks a ton darling!

hi there Kayvid:

Wow within a week it stopped? I'd say definately go with AOBS this will exfolilate and get rid of the oily bits as well. It dries out my oily forehead considerably well!

I have never tried AOBS and would love to try it...if you think that'd work for my skin...tea trea water also helps with oily skin and it's my must have for Summer.

I haven't personally used it but I hear Herbalism is a god sent for oily parts of the face as well!

Imperialis moisturizer is ideal for combo skin but if you really want to indulge, Gorgeous is my personal favorite and is heaven in a jar!

Cupcake is my favorite because of it's smell and great detox abilities. Even though it's rec'ed for teen skin I love it! It works great as keeping clear skin clear. The other masks I'm not to found of but I do like MOM. It doesn't do a whole lot but it's a rather nice smelling mask and it works well at leaving my face soft and with less oily bits.

;)

Hope this helps!
