NARS Super Orgasm: NARS Orgasm and NARS Super Orgasm Comparison and Swatches

NARS Orgasm is something you either really, really love or something you just didn't like and felt like the hype didn't quite live up to the actual product.

The fact is I happen to fall into the really, really love category when discussing NARS Orgasm however if you happen to fall into the "meh I didn't like it all that much" category I'm about to convince you that NARS Super Orgasm is an absolute must have.

NARS Super Orgasm is currently available exclusively from Sephora as Beauty Exclusive item online and will later be released worldwide with the NARS Holiday Collection soon. NARS Super Orgasm comes with my highest seal of approval and recommendation for purchase. You needs it, pure and simple.

NARS Orgasm is a great blush however when compared with NARS Super Orgasm no question remains which version is the better option and now a favorite of mine.

NARS Orgasm has a slightly iridescent finish which I'm not particularly fond of however NARS Super Orgasm fulfills the hype that surrounds NARS Orgasm and offers a gorgeous, silky finish that's simply gorgeous.

Sporting NARS Orgasm

Sporting NARS Super Orgasm

Although both shades appear similiar the finishes are absolutely different. NARS Orgasm is a sheer, pinky peach shade where as NARS Super Orgasm is a very pigmented pinky peach shade without the iridescent finish of it's previous release. The color is considerably deeper and the finishes are vastly different. I notice a glow to my face when I'm using Orgasm but when I use Super Orgasm I get a blushing cheek and what looks like I applied a highlighter on top. Super Orgasm has a good deal of a better color payoff than the regular Orgasm as well and offers buildable color where as Orgasm was considered to sheer by some, Super Orgasm offers popping color to cheeks this time around. NARS Super Orgasm does have a good deal of gold glitter in the formula however it doesn't show up on skin and once applied you're just left with perfectly peachy pink cheeks that are both natural looking and gorgeous.

Out of the two shades I must say NARS Super Orgasm definately makes it onto my favorite list. The color is versatile enough to suit every single season be it Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall. The pay off is considerably deeper and shimmery when compared to regular Orgasm. The irritating iridescent finish from Orgasm is replaced with a smoother, more natural finish. The large pieces of glitter in the blush turn into a beautiful shimmery look on the cheeks that's not over done but just perfect.

Yes, yes indeed this is Holy Grail material.

The Muse is loving NARS Super Orgasm! Get yourself to Sephora and order yourself some! For the lovers of NARS Orgasm you'll want to experience and fall in love all over again when you purchase Super Orgasm, for those of you who weren't originally impressed with NARS Orgasm be prepared to fall in love for the first time with this amazing blush, and for those new to NARS Orgasm...you need to indulge in Super Orgasm it's the most universally flattering shade of blush you'll ever come across!

The Muse recommends, approves it, and says go get it now!

Likey.
Alot.
'Nuff Said!

Wow - gorgeous! I also fall into the loves Orgasm category. However, I didn't think I would be interested in Super Orgasm.

So it really doesn't look glittery? That's my #1 fear. I don't mind shimmer - but I can't sport glitter on my cheeks.

This is a great review!

would you say that deep throat is a pinkier shade? i always felt that deep throat was a brown girl's orgasm... maybe super orgasm is really the brown girl's orgasm (to fit deeper skintones)?

Hi Laurie!

Me too :)

Nope...glitter is non existence once you apply. I didn't notice a single bit of shimmer or glitter. I have my fair share of nars blushes with heavy duty shimmer but this doesn't show up on the skin at all :)

aw shucks thanks! It was difficult writing the review and comparing the two!

hi Anonymous...

Bit clueless here? Something that will never fell?

September 16, 2008 at 3:56 PM
Blogger the Muse said...

hiya kia!

Much pinkier and much peachy. Deep Throat reminds me of NARS Lovejoy..kinda a dusty rose shade.

I think, imho, this would work very well on caramel skin tones. Not too deep and dark but somewhere in between I think it's pigmented enough to show up beautifully on a darker girl!

You should go swatch at Sephora...I have a feeling it'll look brilliant on your beautiful skin!

LOL at Anonymous's comment!

Orgasm is really sheer and I think this Super Orgasm may be in par with that MAC beauty powder blush that was released a while back (I forgot the name, bah!) I will wait 'til the holiday to get the set, I love things in sets :)

I like how NARS has replaced finer shimmers in this blush. I don't have access to NARS so I can't see this in person but I am glad you did such a great review on it.

I have had bad luck with NARS in the past. All products I tried (including Orgasm) didn't work for me. Therefore, I am not too upset that I can't play with this product. :)

when i read a few posts ago that you'd purchased this i was just waiting for your review and i'm glad you did it so soon.

now i'm wondering if i'm better off not reading you review because I WANT IT, i'm a sucker for NARS blushers and yes i wish orgasm were a bit more pigmented.

In terms of pigmentation, you wouldn't happen to know if compared to crazed from NARS, is this as pigmented? Crazed is too pigmented for my liking so i am curious.

Thanks Muse.

hello there wannabelyn!

Thanks for the comment! I wanted to do it sooner but FOTD's take a sec to complete :) I'm so glad you enjoyed the post!

Agreed! I think I always wanted orgasm to be a bit more pigmented and the iridescent finish irratated me..Super Orgasm is exactly what I wanted Orgasm to be :)

Well it is pigmented as crazed however it's buildable. Crazed just goes on WOW holy cow but Super Orgasm can go on sheer..or build it up for more if that makes sense!

Hope this makes sense :)

Yes, the blush looks beautiful on you; it complements your skin tone, eyes, etc., very nicely.
But here's where my confusion comes in: I can't see much peach in it. It looks rosey to me.

What shade do you think would look best on someone who is rather fair but NOT milky white? Is orgasm blush best suited to a certain color of skin?

The shade of blush that I absolutely loved was one that I can no longer find. It came in a big gift set and it was a cheap brand. Color Institute. The blush was a true peachy pink and it had no glitter. Wish I could find one like that again. Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

September 21, 2008 at 9:34 AM
Blogger the Muse said...

hi Anonymous!

Thanks.

I see only peach to it to be honest and not so much rose. It contains a faint bit of pink but that's not the dominant shade by any means.

Orgasm and Super Orgasm are universally suitable for all skin tones imho. It fits darker skin tones as well as lighter and fair tones and those inbetween just as well!

It should suit your tone perfectly well no matter which version you choose. If you'd like a nice peachy shade might I suggest the Jillian Dempsey Retro Blush I just reviewed? That was a very nice, flattering shade of peach!

Hope this helps!

Hey Muse! First of all, thank you for visiting my blog :) super kind of your to leave some comments too.

I love Orgasm, too. but recently, I bought MAC Mineralize blush Nuance, and eventhough it should look totally different with Orgasm, on my cheeks they look similar. So these days, when I want to have a brighter color on my cheeks, I just top Nuance over Orgasm. Super result.

On separate note, if one already got Orgasm, would getting a super orgasm be a must?

Hi Muse!

Just a thought, is Super Orgasm anything similar to Gransenbon's blushers (the peachy ones)?

Laura

Blogger the Muse said...

hi laura.

oh no. incredibly different. Gransenbon is very soft and once the type layer of shimmer is removed it's pretty matte in finish plus it's not nearly as pigmented.

The products are vastly different :)

hope this helps!

Thank you! You're sweet as usual.

I was of the impression that Super Orgasm would somehow end up like Gransenbon. I was watching the video on the Nars website, and I was really confused. I wasn't sure if I should be getting The Multiple, or the cream blusher, or the powder version?

hi laura!

Aw my pleasure!

no way. It's much more pigmented :) and nicer!

It's up to you...what medium do you prefer in blush? Cream? stick? powder?

I love powder b/c it lasts longest on me where as creams tend to fade uber face!

Thanks for this review... however Super Orgasm looks ... just like a bunch of glitter on my face. My cheeks are so very naturally pink that the blush does nothing to my cheeks! ): I was hoping to be convinced of keeping it but I've tried it about 3 times already and nothing... I'll have to return it. Anyway, great review and glad it looks wonderful on you!

Hello! I came across this website searching for reviews on Super Orgasm. I have very tanned/olive skin. Will super orgasm be too light for me, in your opinion?

(I didn't know how to set up an account to have a name on here, so I just posted as Anonymous...but you can call me "DivaJenn" ;)

I was so sad when I tried this, but it wasn't really surprising seeing as Orgasm just looks like peach eyeshadow on my cheeks! (Sorry, I know this is an old post but I wanted to see what others thought about Super Orgasm... I jumped on the bandwagon late.)

I figured that with the slight pigmentation difference, it might be better on me. I'm incredibly fair, so I get skeptical with these "universal" blushes... they're not so universal for me. Haha. Anyway, when I put on SO it looked almost neon. And I have a light hand with blush.

It looks amazing on you! If I saw it in person I would totally ask you what it was and then go try it. ;) I have, however, found an HG blush for myself- MAC powder blush in Fleur Power! Yay! Normally I don't like MAC face products, either, so it truly was an amazing thing.

hi mollie!

yes orgasm is very faint. it's ok please by all means comment on old posts ;-D

I was sorry to hear this was too pigmented :( have you tried using a fluffier brush? Sometimes it picks up color subtly this way :-D

aw thank you!!!! Fluer Powder is an incredibly nice blush so glad you found something more suitable :-D

MAC sometimes comes out with some serious zingers that work a treat :-D

Glad you're loving it!

Thanks for sharing hun!
