I've heard the new Maybelline concealer is very good, the one with 2 ends (sorry I don't remember the name!)

I use mineral concealer and it's OK. Just load it up on my brush and pat, pat, pat away. Even some serious scars did not show on my DL photo.

Yay! I can't wait to hear your reviews!

Right now I'm using two different concealers. For blemishes I'm using MUFE Full Cover. On lazy days I'll just use this to spot cover and then use powder. It's great at covering up without looking too heavy.

For my eyes I'm using Benefit's Erase Paste. I love this!!!! It's a perfect match and feels so creamy :)

I'm using Stila illuminating concealer. It comes in a lip gloss-like container with it's own brush, which makes application easy. I just pat with my fingers and it looks very natural. I need a new eye cream or gel though. My old Clinique stuff is hydrating but I want something better.

Time Balm by The Balm is my absolute must have concealer. It is so creamy and blends beautifully. I HATE the container though because it's a cheapy kind, but I can forgive it because the concealer is amazing.

Second place goes to Urban Decay Surreal Skin Concealer. It is really great for the under eye area.

Hi Muse

I am also in need of a good concelaer as well. I have been using Trish Mc evoy and i am really pleased. But its time for some chage. I have been searching for a good one in nordstrom to sephora. Tried the Cleau de pleau and loved it. But the price backed me out. The next i felt was to try precriptives custom blend . i really like it. It is dry and feel so natural.Remember to apply some eye cream. It lays out the best.

So far so good. But the search is still on..........\

Thanks

Sabeena

I feel so inept with concealers!
Right now, I have Meow Undereye concealer in Inquisitive Siamese (which matches my Meow Foundation), but I will often take any mineral makeup foundation and mix it with a dab of my moisturizer to go under my eyes or on any blemishes if I feel the need. I'd like an easy on pen, but finding a shade to match seems hard, and using the mmu with moisturizer is so easy.

I'm really curious to see what you like.

Hey Izzy, sory to hear about frustrating Monday..Hope u can get the problems solve soon! :)

Ooh..can't wait for your concealor review! I have fine lines and the skin under my eyes are rather dry :( Plus the panda eye..horrors of horrors :o

I've been trying to find reviews for concealors as well recently. Personally, I've not tried much concealors myself, only ZA's concealor, Bobbi Brown's and L'Oreal's.

Bobbi Brown's concealor is such a dissapointment despite the rave reviews. It cakes terribly and accentuate my fine lines :(

ZA's concealor is ok, it doesn't settle into fine lines and is a rather good over all concealor. However, the staying power is exactly great esp with the humid weather here. It gives a slightly whitish cast when applied under the eye area.

Hopefully the concealors u are gonna review can be found in SG! I like your review on eye creams but sadly most products couldn't be found here :(

Have a fab week ahead! :)

gracie :)

Hi again :)
I use bobbibrown eye brightener medium. it comes in a small jar with creamy texture (oh, and it smells nice hehehe) but in regards to coverage, im still searching for something better because after application I still can spot a glimpses of dark area under me eyes. maybe im just too conscious abt my panda eyes, but i definitely still want to try other concealer that can (hopefully) better cover my dark cicle

morning or afternoon yak dd :)

Aww gosh maybe that's b/c you don't need 'em! Which is good news!

I need concealer mostly for my under eyes and rarely use it on blemishes.

Your skin is milky white so it is difficult locating a good tone. It's best to head into store for a swatch!

You might wanna try the PWMD one b/c it's ultra light plus it's a pen! It's not a fav of mine but since you don't have a ton to conceal it may work well :)

You're too young for fine lines you're imagining those lol!

I understand. I don't really have dark, dark circles but I do sport rather tired eyes. I noticed after my 30th bday I started having this prob!

I'm doing a big round up so maybe you'll see something that suits you!

BB does cake on me as well and creases but I find with good prepping it does work ok!

You should try the Lancome one I'll be reviewing shortly. It's extremely wp!

I hope so too if not I'll happily cp for you :)

About the Stila illuminating concealer: Yes, it's good. One of the SAs I trust at Sephora uses it so I feel like it's decent compared to most other products in that price range. It's a lighter/more watery formula so I don't know if you'll love it, but it's pigmented enough for my admittedly light undereye circles. It's the best I've found so far, but I'll keep testing other brands while shopping!

Funny that you should bring up the subject of concealers now. I have been on a life-long search of the perfect under-eye concealer, as I suffer from natural dark circles. I have tried absolutely everything, from drug store brands to even the very highest end concealer. And while some were quite good, most concealers, if they really were concealing those horrid dark circles, would end up crepey and creeping into the fine lines around my eyes.

Until now.

Lorac Double Feature concealer is a miracle! It has a concealer stick, and a roller-blendy ball. And a highlighter. I don't know how they do it, but the formula together with the roller-blendy ball works magic! I put it on and it stays on. And I don't have to keep "sweeping" under my eyes to blend away concealer from those fine under-eye lines! I never get that crepey look with this product. And my dark circles are gone, gone, gone!

And the highlighter is lovely as well. I use it as a shadow base and it gives my eyeshadow an ethereal glow.

For those lovelies with dark under-eye circle, I highly recommend this product!

hello Laurel!

Me too!!!!! I've found great ones but nothing has become complete HG for me :)

ditto for me. if they are good and have good coverage they end up creasing sigh :(

Funny you mention the lorac...I'm reviewing it this week!!!!!

It's absolutely awesome. I thought the rollerball was a powder for setting but the applicator...so awesome and it gives an airbrushed look!

You'll see the review shortly on this as I purchased it this weekend!

Muse,

I can't wait to read your review! Another little bit I discovered with this product, after roller-blending under the eyes, use the little bit of product left on the roller ball to cover little spots elsewhere!

Happy reviewing.

Hey izzy,

I seriously need your help on this.
I'm fair-medium skin and i have serious dark circles. I'm 23 yrs old btw =)

After reading all your reviews on concealers, i have narrowed down to a few which interest me.
I'm particularly interested in trying BB's but i'm not sure whether to get the creamy concealer or corrector. And if i were to get the creamy one, should i get the kit that comes with loose powder? does the powder makes any diff? My dark circles are really really bad and i do have fine lines under eye as well. I also remember u did a review on BB's concealer palette which i have shortlisted as well. Other than BB, i'm also considering Make Up Forever Lift Concealer.

So basically those that i have shortlisted are:

BB creamy concealer kit
BB creamy concealer
BB corrector concealer
Make Up For Ever Lift concealer

I hope you could advice me on this.

sorry for the long winded comment btw =P

Heloo!
Im addicted to ur blog!It gives me every kind of info i need for every little thing for my face! Love U! I'm still in search for the bestest eye concealer ever , so i hope to find one from ur recommendation.

Im currently using loreal Touche Magique. Works ok, but only 2 colours =/ The brush applicator does help abit, but it sort of stretches the skin underneath when ur trying to blend it.

I wonder if it's going to worsen our eyes in the long run. As such....I think dabbing is preferred.:P

Blogger the Muse said...

hey alyssa!

Sorry for the delayed reply bit behind on comments!

Ok. If I were you I'd go with the BB concealer palette for one main reason. I've noticed that a combination of both the palette and the powder actually concealer my circles better then anything else I've tried even MUFE Lift Concealer. I find that BB concealers are super pigmented and emollient which makes them last quite a long time and also cover well!

BB Creams are fab in there own way but honestly never seen one that worked wonders on my dark circles..I'd def invest my money in the bb palette that has the powder and three concealer shades. I can't remember but are you in the US? if so I've seen the palette at CCO's for $24.50 I believe the price was and that's a deal so get to your local cco see if they have it :)

Yes, I did think that the powder not only brightens my dark circles but also acts as a setter for the concealer. I normally try to avoid powders under my eye but since I started prepping better with eye cream and hydroshield I now think that the powder is fabs for lightening up the eye area ;) so yes it's a good thing :)

I hope this helps :) If you need help getting that palette let me know!

Hugs!!!!!

oh make 'em as long winded as you like :-) I love talkin' to ya!

No. We don't have any CCOs here in M'sia =( so i guess i have to count that out cos i just realised that the palette is actually LE?

so other than the palette, which comes second best then?

Second best would be the bb creamy concealer..that's really good as well and basically the same thing that's inside the LE palette :)

sadly I really can't rank them according to highlighting or blemishes...for me concealer is used under the eyes only...I never use concealer to cover blemishes or other problem areas :(

dark circles, puffiness, etc...

Hi Muse! Your blog is completely AMAZING:DD Seriously, I've read all your under-eye concealer reviews and theyre so helpful! The only problem is, only the European brands are available here:(The thing is, I have really bad dark circles, like dark blue/brown,a bit of red too.. the works:P Up till now I was able to hide them somewhat using a combo of Bourjois 10-hour sleep effect foundation, Bourjois Anti-cernes conealer and the winner, Maybelline Wonder Finish..but imagine, this one has now been discontinued!

But from reading your reviews, I've realised it's probably better to buy a really good branded concealer. So for really deep, brownish-blue circles, would you recommend Lancome Photogenic Skin Luminating Concealer,Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer, any Cliniqe concealer,Diroskin Face Pro-styler Concealer Palette, the YSL touche eclat or Dior Radiance Booster Pen?
Also, what brand of translucent powder would you put over it? Thanks soo much!:)Sorry if the post is a bit long!;) x anjali

hi anjali!
Wow thanks :) glad you enjoy it!

It is indeed well worth splurging on a good concealer :)

It's really difficult for me to rec you a good concealer for really bad under eye circles as mine aren't nearly that bad :( I do highly recommend trying out bill nye concealer as that virtually hides EVERYTHING and the kitchen sink...although if you're not comfortable using such a heavy makeup I'd go with my recently reviewed "Mally Beauty Concealer" system...that really works wonders!

Lancome is good as well especially the Effacernes but the dior and ysl may not do much if your circles are really intense nor will the concealer palette. the mally beauty includes a setting powder so that's what I'd use or the Laura Mercier Brightening Powder...something like so you aren't left looking "made up"

hope this helps!

hey! thanks so much for your help:D today I went to the best local cosmetics shops here, but would you believe it, they don’t carry so many of the really good, recommended concealers! I did try Lancome Effacernes super soft Concealer, but there didn’t seem to be a Lancome Effacernes Waterproof one, which I was really hoping to buy. the sales lady strongly recommended Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-inplace SPF10 Concealer for something that stays all day, which according to her concealed the darkness better than the Lancome one appeared too. So I bought it – I’ll let you know soon how it’s working! Would you happen to know anything about it, or whether it’s sure that Lancome works better? I also bought Maybelline Mineral Powder to set, but when I got home realized it is a foundation powder! So it’s probably better to go exchange or return it right?;) Have a great day, will continue to read your reviews! =) smiles, anjali
