Sneak Peeks: Fall Collection 2008 Clinique Modern Matte Review

Sometimes a girl has to broaden her horizons and look towards a new style of makeup that she may never have noticed before!

And so it goes for Clinique's New Fall Collection for 2008 entitled Modern Matte. This isn't the Muse's normal style of makeup as she's not one for matte, nudes, naturals, etc...but I've decided that I should bring you a different point of review since I get e-mailed so much about including nude, natural, mature colors in my posts!

If you've said YES YES YES to any one of the above this is the collection for you!

Stay tuned for the Muse's review on Clinique Modern Matte!

Want it?

Love matte?

Like it nude and natural?

Tell the Muse!

I do love nudes, especially for work and interviews, but for some reason, not into matte lipsticks. Actually, I know why. It looks so 'solid' on! Makes me look so flat, where as shiny lips make you look a lot more glowy. Hmmm, maybe its worth checking out, I am obsessed with my Almost Lipstick in Black Honey!!!! Talk to ya later, PS, how do CPs work???? And yeah, the Infallible Lipglosses are around $25 a pop over this side of the ocean!!! Makes me go INSANE thinking about the price difference. Love ya!!!

Hmmm...I don't own much matte, so this could be an opportunity to pick up some neutral colors for work. I'd have to check it out in person before deciding.

I'm in love with my Rocker Eye kit right now! Thanks for the review. It was sold out at my local Sephora but a nice SA found one in the back for me. Do you have any tips for lining the lower lashline without looking like a raccoon? Do you line your inner corner?

I'm not one for matte, nude, neutral, or natural. HOWEVER, after all the brights from this summer...I'm ready for a change into some fall colors - browns, taupes, golds, etc. I'm interested to see your review on this collection.

Hmm, I should probably give them another try but the products I've tried so far have not impressed me. At all - and for the price I was thinking they would... I have been lusting after those new SPF15 glosses they've brought out though.

hello there dancinggal!

I normally go loud all the time :) But I thought I should branch out and do more nude/natural posts :)

I agree mattes always look a snore on where as glossy lips just pop!

I was so tempted by black honey but feared it would be too dark! Which is what scares me about cherry culture :P I wonder how it would look on hmm!

AHHHH $25! OUCH!!!!

CP's normally swapped for other goods or paypal. So if I brought something you pay via paypal and I ship or you swap me for something your side :) of equal value ;)

kinda cool for getting stuff from here!

Love ya back!

hello asta!

Me either but I feel comfortable trying these out b/c they are affordable at $14 usd or so. Plus the selection is vast with quite a few colors!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! So glad you picked it up! Wow sold out already eh???? That's great you nabbed it b/c it's a killer kit imho!

I normally avoid doing the inner corner just do the bottom lash line. I'm not good at getting it applied in the inner corner and it rubs all over the place making me look silly. I don't really have too many tips for lining but I do suggest slowly building color up with the end of the brush included. Dab a small amount on and slowly stroke from in to out and reapply another layer for intensity.

Hope this helps a bit?

Have fun with the kit!

hello Shefali!

Me either ;) I'm a shimmer queen! I think these are definately covering good browns and taupes and even a few interesting blues and creams.

It's new horizons for me so I'm kinda curious what I'll come up with ;)

hello chica!

I just tried the concealer and it's simply awesome. I used to use the moisturizer daily and loved that. I have a few odd pieces in my collection but it's definately revamped some since my original purchases and prob worth looking at as the prices are great!

Hmm SPF gloss is always a plus for me!

hi anonymous!

LOL I know! Which accounts for my pic without flash so you aren't seeing nasty fingerprints all over those beautiful compacts :)

Anyhoo, I'm in the same boat with you: no matte, no neutrals. Gimme gimme shimmers and bling bling!

hello anonymous

Yes I will be reviewing it shortly. I've been hard at working getting reviews on for Fall as quickly as possible. If you read my blog you probably noticed that I post collection reviews daily. This is just taking a little longer b/c it's so many pieces.

What exactly is over? This is still available on counters if you mean it's not available any longer?

Not sure what you meant.

Hope my reply is helpful and as soon as possible I'll have a review on this. I work as quickly as I can

Thanks for the comment!

Hi Muse!

When I said "it's over anyway" it's becoz, in my country, sadly, Limited edition collections dun last, once the next one comes, they remove the whole OLD one LE. so modern matte..? no more! :(

Sorry for the confusion.
