Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick Review

Dior has introduced a new edition to the family with it's High Shine Lipstick. Dior makes a fine bit of cosmetic that the Muse both uses and collects however their lipstick line hasn't been something I can say I've indulged in much.

However, upon hearing about the Addict High Shine Lipstick I thought yes indeed this was very me! Visions of T'estimo lipstick and MAC Slimshines danced through my head and I was thinking how Dior probably created a beautifully moisturizing lipstick in an array of colors! I couldn't wait to try it!

Meh. They could have done a better job with this.

I'm relieved I didn't get crazy and purchase one of every color because it turns out it's not all that great. The formula needs a bit of work as it advertises a high shine and gloss but I got neither from it. There isn't much to say really it just feels like a regular old lipstick.

I'm not going to lie and say I'm not shocked as I expect far better quality from Dior but this definately disappoints. Most of my disappointment stems from the promise of a beautiful glossy feel and lovely shine. I didn't get either from this and I can't help but feel ripped off. It just feels like the regular Dior lipstick.

The color selection is vast and the packaging is simple yet pretty but sadly it's a total bust for me. The Muse suggests saving your money and buying two MAC Slimshines instead as the price of one Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick is $25 USD which isn't bad if it actually worked but sadly it's a no go!

Boo Dior! The Muse is saddened and disappointed!

Awww it's too bad you didn't like this. Have you tried the Dior Addict Ultra Shine sheer lipcolors? They're similar to these but much more glittery/shiny/glossy in my opinion. I've tried those and much prefer the ultra shines, they're really beautiful. My favorite color is shiniest coral. Although they no longer seem to be carried on the Sephora site-I wonder if they're phasing these out and replacing them with the High Shines-in which case booooo.

Man...this is rather disappointing considering the packaging is really cute. And so is the color you hauled.

hey jen!

:( ya. sigh. Oh wells! I haven't tried the Ultra Shine Sheer. I sorta avoid Dior lipcolor for some reason. It's possible this is replacing the old version firgures if it's good that's when they dice it from the line :P

I want the new Addict glosses for Summer have you seen 'em they are lovely. I was in Lord and Taylor's playing with 'em on Saturday but they only had 3 of the 4 colors so I'll wait until they get the 4th color as I'd rather buy them in the lot as the other three might get lonely hehe!

I haven't had a chance to play with the glosses but will probably be picking up a few! They do look hot!

My lipglosses seem to have little lipgloss babies-I always have a million more than I ever remember purchasing, so I'm trying to cut back.

Well this sucks to hear. I was really looking forward to Dior's new lipstick. Well at least I know not to get it now. Saves me more money for Dazzleglass (I swear, that fucking blue gloss is GOING to be mine!).

Have you tried Givenchy's Rouge Interdit Shine yet? I want to. But sadly their summer collection is made of fail and AIDS. The only thing I'm going to buy is the lipgloss in Ibiza Pink and that's it. It's sad. First Denim Fetiche sucked, and now this.

Ahh well. I did buy one of my catchups: Chanel's Glossimer in Sideral. I'm going to write up a review soon, seeings as it's my first Chanel gloss and all. The only new thing I've written is my rambling on how I'm going to own MAC's Comet Blue gloss or something's going to be demolished. I've noticed I really don't do well with keeping journals/blogs. But I'm trying.

I've missed you. How've you been??

Well I shall stop rambling. Have a good night, dear!

Hi hi again!

I am sorry to hear you're struggling with some crap. Me myself, I'm dealing with a particularly nasty reoccurring dislocation: my right ankle has decided that it likes it out of the socket and has been dislocating and subluxating like fucking mad for the past three days. Yesterday the dislocation was so bad I nearly broke my toes (two of 'em got curled under my foot when I fell over). Thankfully I didn't break 'em--just dislocated them and I was able to snap them back into place with no problem.

But other than that, I'm dealing with my idiot computer Hal, who needs to have his platform wiped. Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to doing it yet because I'm still burning all my junk off of him. It's uber-tedious. I really need to buy an external harddrive.

Well I shall shut up. Hope to talk to you soon.

Love you!
