Avon Horizon Blush by Jillian Dempsey

I saw Avon's new blush in the latest issue of Bazaar Magazine (Avon in Bazaar? I know right? What the hell!?).

The blush in question is entitled Horizon Blush and is designed by Jillian Dempsey. A long time ago, in a land far away Jillian Dempsey was actually a leading firgure for Deluxe Cosmetics (remember that brand?) but more importantly, dig this, Jillian Dempsey is married to Patrick Dempsey. Who would've have guessed? Sure they share the same last name but I didn't know this was his wife (it could be because that I'm in denial he's married with kids as I still have that beautiful fantasy of me running around Seattle Grace in a naughty nurse uniform while he chases me around with a syringe in one hand and a can of whipped cream in the other!)

I'm thinking to myself that it can't be too fun around that house. I mean how does she introduce herself? Hello I'm Jillian, yes my husband is McDreamy and I work for Avon. Ouch. Jillian, honey, quit Avon or let the Muse have McDreamy for her very own!

In all seriousness Jillian has some redeeming qualities, one of which happens to be the new blush she created for Avon! Thanks Jillian you aren't at the level of McDreamy but you're slowly gaining speed!

The Muse likes this blush because it reminds her of the Solar Duo Blush that was released for the Body Shop Summer Collection last year! Sadly the Muse only has one of the two colors released from that collection as she broke one when it fell off her vanity! Twas a sad sad day! But now I have these new blushes from Avon to invest my time (and money) into and maybe they can replace my gorgeous Solar Duo Blushes!

The blush is available in two shades of peach and pink. These are gradation blushes that can be applied for a sheer wash of color or build up for intensity. One end holds a light side and one end holds a darker side of each color.

So...these are $7.99 USD (I know, not what you'd expect from a lady married to the 7 million dollar man but hey a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!) and I'm questioning how pigmented they can be but I must remind myself that Avon had shocked my socks off a few months ago with it's rather awesome Cynthia Rowley Collection (Missed my review? Click here to read up)!

I think I want these (minus the cheap brush they come with! Thanks very much!). Count these on the Muse's wish list! I'm going to give Jillian a try and maybe I can think up a rather clever nick for her while I'm at it hmmm McMakeup? McAvon? McBlush?

Want these?
Curious?

Tell the Muse!

Gradation blushes.... hmmmm... interesting. Dior has something similar (their duo blushes), but it's more like a darkish shade paired with a lighter one). I like this idea of gradation... much more versatile!

I actually liked Jillian's now defunct brand, Delux. The lipglosses and highlighters were wonderful (though a bit too pricey for their own good). I'm glad she saw sense and decided to go lower end, though I truly do miss Delux! Here's hoping she incorporates items from her previous line into her Avon colllab.

And stop mocking poor Jillian, of course she needs her new McJob; someone's got to pay for the McMansion and bring home the bacon for her McMan!

Never got the hype over McDreamy, but as long as he's not Gregory House MD, I guess I don't care (hate House). I've also never understood the whole obsession with medical dramas; they bore me to tears. Personally, I prefer serial killer shows, such as Death Note and Dexter. Mmmm, Michael C. Hall and his brutal ginger comb-over...

Hey Mandy!

I added an "e" in there somewhere! I enjoyed the cream stain blushes and stick blushes plus the glosses. The price was somewhat blah, agreed.

That would be fab if they had some sort of similar products as Delux's old line!

LOL There ya go! I knew you'd come up with some ;) You man her Mcman brings the mcmoney home to Mcwife ;)

I don't like med dramas to much myself..house...er...etc...but GA has that certain comedy balance that really makes it interesting for me!

Love Dexter! Actually, for once in my life, I love it more then the books! They really bring Dexter to life and do a way better job of humanizing him then the books! Bravo showtime!

The comb over is glam darling he's keeping up with Trump's awesome image ;)

hi!

i could've sworn i left a comment here yesterday but i was half asleep in class so i might have closed it before it got properly submitted.

the boyfriend works for avon and so he has access to the company store which sells everything they have in the catalogs for at least 50% off.

i really loved the cynthia rowley blushes with the flowers printed on them-they were so pretty, and only like $3 at the store!

hope these show up at the store, i'll have to have him pick them up for me. and i might even pick up another of the cynthia rowley if they still have them lying around.

Hey Jen!

It could be the comment box here. Blogspot has been buggy!

You lucky girl! w00t! 50%!

I liked the blushes as well! I got both myself! $3! AH! so lucky!

These aren't yet available from Avon and I'm curious when they'll be out! I'm going to pick up both and see how they are myself!

Curious minds!

Happy Weekend!

I haven't read the books, but I also noticed that Dexter is far more human in the series (from what I've heard), which I think is a brilliant touch. Viewers can really relate to him.

Is it just my imagination or is Michael C. Hall really sexy in Dexter? I remember seeing him on promos for Six Feet Under (another one I never understood) and thinking: YEESH!

Now it's: Comb over+ chinos+ Michael C. Hall = Pure Sex.
On a side note: how bald do you figure he is under that suspect coif?

IDK, but after seeing Lila West in season 2, I have a sudden urge to paint my face white and dye my hair black. The chick who plays Lila is such a butterface, but I must have that glossy black hair!

The books are good although over time with the sequels, as with all good things, they haven't been as well done as they were. I won't give spoilers but they make Dexter into a bit more of a family man in the books. Not sure if the show will follow that theme.

Dexter is more 3D in the show. He's livable and breathable where as in the books you hate him a little bit and when watching him on the show you're actually loving and routing for him. The first book I was loving him but I felt the coldness and as time progressed I hated him a bit but with the show I just adore him.

I'm not sure if you can chalk this up to the writers for the show or Michael's fab acting (i'm leaning towards his acting abilities).

Sincerely who would think you'd actually sit back and be a cheerleader for a man that cuts people up into little pieces and drops them into the ocean.

;)

He's dead sexy. At first, when I originally watched the show it was 1. a snore and 2. watching Michael C Hall in action was like oh god what a dork but as the series progressed I found myself riveted by his acting.

You have to admit he isn't all that. His body is alright but he's somewhat homely (not like I'm adorable so I should be one to talk)) with as you mentioned the bizaaro comb over. But he has charisma that's for damn sure which I guess accounts for his sex appeal.

I only ever watched six feet for freddy rodriguez. That's another weird crush I have. Don't ask.

sincerely comb over+chinos+blood=sex on wheels. I couldn't agree more.

Seriously. I'd say he's pretty bald. Remember a few scenes when he was on top of Lila...you kinda see that extra bit of skin on his head that shouldn't have been in the shot...pattern baldness hint number uno! Go bald be proud don't comb over!

Lila West was actually dead sexy for me. I actually thought she was putting on the ritz with that accent but she's really a UK'er. Sounded fake to me for some reason! She had a drop dead gorgeous body though and a seriously beautiful face! At first I actually dug her but soon after she became a fly I wanted to squash! I cheered when he murdered her annoying ass in the end (I hope you aren't watching this now and I ruined it for you).

Which brings me to the problem of this premiering on regular tv now...what the hell? How you can enjoy the G-Rated Dexter? For shame!

Total comic relief!

He played in Chuck for a while (dunno if you watch it) and they did away with him too quickly because he did a fab job with that too!

He's an awesome actor!

Yeah, MCH has a Cro Magnon face on a hot-ass body! People think a pretty face is everything, but it's not; proportionally, your face comprises 1/8 of your body, so I figure a hot body is 7 times more important than a pretty face. It's Mandy Math.

Yeah, Jaime Murray's got a hot body too, but her face! She's like a cut-rate Olivia Williams. Still, wouldn't mind having that black hair. Did you see how glossy it was in the death scene? I must haves it, I tells you!

Actually, it might actually be a fake accent you're detecting from here. Many British actors still choose to speak in RP (Received Pronunciation) rather than their regional accents.

Yeah, the chick who played LaGuerta used to look decent in New York Undercover, now she looks and sounds like Tootie from the Facts of Life. Kim Fields would not approve.

I haven't read the books but I'm familiar with them, and the whole 'fostering and training the Bennett kids' in the final book is lame.

I'm not hot for the character of character of Batista, but he's definitely one of the most endearing characters on the show. And Masuka is the man! Shemales, indeed!

There are some characters I just can't stand though: Debra (fugly and irritating), Rita (banal and irritating) and Lundy (OLD).

I'm a total blush whore so I totally want this too! LOL. Doesn't Dior make a gradient blush? Or did? I don't remember. It's an interesting idea though. Basically giving you multiple blushes in one compact.

hi Mandy!

LOL! I wouldn't say it so harsh but yes I concur ;)

Your math is so wrong! I'm short and wobbly and the killer body theory is lost on me sadly! But your math doesn't add up because you always told me that you love me just the way I am! Have you changed your mind!?

Olivia Williams? That's so wrong! She's way hotter!

I had seen her on an interview and she did use the same accent. You may very well be right as our virgin ears might not be able to translate the regional side of her accent or slang choice.

I never watched NY Undercover but damn she looked familiar that must be where I seen her. LOL! You're right she kinda does!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But of course they have to go somewhere with the series and "training" n00bs is the way to go ;) but I can tell you, without ruining too much of the plot, that it blew ass! Totally a screw up and twist in the plot. Too many loopholes. But the good news is that maybe they can recreate it correctly in the series!

He is very endearing and full of heart. You just wanna squeeze him!

Masuka rocks all corners hands down!

Debra is ANNOYING with a capital A! Someone shoot her in the forehead! And Lundy is just all wrong on all accounts! Hate him! And having D sleep with him makes it even worst. UGH!

Cheers to a new season though!

Eager to see it!
