Givenchy Fall Collection 2009: Givenchy Gloss Poetique Review and Swatches

Everyone is trying their hand at color changing gloss this season right? But how many brands have perfected it? Color changing gloss is a difficult one as you'll run across many that are just too bright to look flattering on your lips. Most turn a bright bubble gum pink that the Muse thinks is quite pretty when swatched but on my lips not so much.

Givenchy Gloss Poetique gets it just right and than some!

Jump ahead for the review.

Available for a limited time as part of it's Fall Collection, Givenchy has released Gloss Poetique a natural color enhancing lip treatment.

In some cases a hard Fall eye look is reigning supreme. Something smoky, something dramatic, perhaps a swirled up cat eye....in these cases we don't want to take away from such an incredible eye look by pairing it up with a bold shade of lipstick or gloss. These are the times we want just the right amount of color but nothing dramatic, nothing crazy. Smooth a little Givenchy Gloss Poetique on for a radiant burst of pink that's sheer, subtle, and pretty.

Housed in floral motif Givenchy palette this gloss and cheek duo may very well deserve the back up treatment. I have one so far and I'm ordering another shortly as it's one of those things you won't want to be without when it's gone for good.

The formula is a gel like consistency that's incredibly glossy and shiny for a potted lip treatment. Anything that doesn't come in a tube is always a bit of a chore to get working correctly on lips in my opinion but this simply smooths on leaving a high glossy finish with a tiny touch of pink.

You'll be delighted to know it also acts as a stain for cheeks. It's glossy gel formula makes it a long wearing flush of pink for cheeks and face. Although a tad strange feeling on your face it does leave behind a gorgeous shade of baby pink that's natural and quite pretty. The formula is meant to be used on most any skin tone for that perfect shade of pink on both lips and face.

On Lips

On Lips and Cheeks

Overall, it's unique formula that multitasks on both face and lips makes this a great little find for Fall. Pairing up your dramatic eye look with gently flushed cheeks and subtle glossy lips makes for an ideal look for the upcoming season. I'm absolutely thrilled with Givenchy Gloss Poetique. Truly a fabulous little product and worthy of a pick up (and a backup purchase).

Loves it!

That seems like a weird container to me. I wasn't sure what I was looking at in the pictures where the top was open LOL. But the color comes out quite pretty. I'm not sure if I've browsed for it on your blog, but have you ever tried mark.'s Glossblossom? I think it's a great color-changing gloss.
