If you look up "kakushitsu" in a Japanese-English dictionary, you get "horny layer" and I'm guessing that's how they came up with horny remover. (Horny can also refer to horny tissues/hardened and calloused skin.) Online translators like babelfish are responsible for most of the weird English (in Japan) out there. ;)
