Rock & Republic Eye Colour Trio Review and Swatches

I'm thinking that there is always a good excuse to play Sammy Hagar...he's like the perfect introduction to my Rock & Republic Eye Colour Trip Review.

Whatta ya think?

"Header bangs in leather..........!" \m/ Yeah well you're either as old as I am and a lover of good metal or just not a Sammy kinda girl. Sorry!

I gotta say that the evolution of Sammy doesn't please as much as Sammy circa 1981...must be something to do with his lack of hair. WTH? Oh why oh do we have to grow up and get old? No fair.

Circa 2000

Anyway....Rock & Republic probably didn't mean for it to strike my heavy metal nerve but it does none the less. With it's uber slick packaging, extremely heavy packaging might I add, and gorgeous shades for a smoky rockin' eye look it's sure to please anyone that likes a bit of edge with their makeup!

If I was feeling so inclined I deem the Rock & Republic Eye Colour Trio a perfectly pretty paperweight for my desk! Damn this thing is HEAVY! Talk about attention to packaging detail! This has luxury written all over it. It's super slim and made out of a heavy black metal with the Rock & Republic emblem embossed on top in a blaze of chic. I can't say, out of all my collection, that I own anything like this palette. The packaging is outstanding.

Created in two color selections, Scene 1 and Scene 2, these trio palettes are available for a limited time for $65 USD from Rock & Republic.

I tried out the Rock & Republic Colour Eye Trio in Scene 1 and it's making me want to splurge on Scene 2, hey what's one scene without the other right? Although expensive at $65 USD rest assured your money is being well spent on a quality palette. I think $65 was probably the cost of the palette alone and not the color within, did I mention how heavy this is?

The palette is made up of three shades of velvety smooth shadow. I'm not a fan of velvet shadows but these have a smooth, easy to blend formula and create a gorgeous smoky look that's sure to please anyone who likes a bit edge to their makeup or a certain sophistication.

The colors included are:
  • Chain Link
  • Nailed
  • Tempting

Each of the shades are available as single shadows for $28 USD each so buying the palette is actually a good deal. Chain Link is a soft sheer gray, Nailed is a deeper black gray, and Tempting is a muted mauve, lilac. The shades are gorgeous on their own or combined to create a killer look. I created two looks below using Chain Link and Nailed together and Tempting on it's own.

Here's a look I created using Tempting:

The look below was created using Nailed and Chain Link:

Overall, the palette does make one wince at it's price but after experiencing it for yourself, you'll be as addicted as I am. Truly the line is luxury cosmetic at it's best. It's a rare and genius collection in my opinion and I look forward to indulging further. Sometimes we need a little champagne and caviar in our life and Rock & Republic brings it.

Loves it! Total Muse Approval for purchase!

Definitely too pricey for me, but it was fun reading your review. It does look like a good quality palette. Thanks for the eye close ups, so helpful to see that.

Love these colors! Muse, I love the hard rock and metal too. In fact, BF and I are currently re-obsessed with Motley Crue these days after reading their bio. :)
