Prescriptives Spring Collection 2009: Prescriptives In Bloom Eye Color Duo and In Bloom Cheek Color Duo Review, Swatches, Photos, and FOTD

Prescriptives In Bloom Spring Collection holds a special place in my heart this season as the colors are quite Spring-like and particularly pretty. The packaging on Prescriptives In Bloom Collection is truly fitting for the season ahead with it's sweet blossoming flower design!

Loves it!

Prescriptives is always a fond favorite season after season for offering a great selection of both warm and cool looks. I love that they take the time out to release two very different color selections that are suitable for warmer and cooler tones or for those who prefer both a warm and a cool look.

Jump ahead to learn more about the cooler side of Prescriptives In Bloom Spring Collection for 2009.

As I mentioned above the Prescriptives In Bloom Collection consists of cooler and warmer shades. Today I'll be reviewing the cooler shades of the collection but let's take a brief second to look at what was released.

Four brand new palettes currently available in two shades each for both warm and cool.

Available are:

Warm
  • Sunflower
  • Marigold

Cool
  • Petunia
  • Lily

And two new blush palettes are available in one shade each:

Warm
  • Golden Coral

Cool
  • Fresh Pink

Each collection creates a warmer or cooler look or mix and match to create your perfect Spring look! Both the shadow duos and blushers are a reasonable $24 USD each so you're not breaking the bank picking up some of the collection. Love, love the packaging on these. It's a flip top, magnetic compact with a hard case, large mirror inside, and a brilliant pink, red, and orange blooming flower on the lid.

The Prescriptives In Bloom Eye Color Duo in Petunia contains a delicate pale pink shade with a contrasting darker pink almost mauve color. The best way to apply is to use the lightest shade as an all over color wash and follow up using the darker shade in the v of the eye and blending into the crease to contrast with the lighter pink. Line the lower lash line with the pale pink and apply a light layer of the darker mauve shade on top! Of course, you can get a few different looks from the palette by combining or using the shades by themselves. Pigmentation is very good on both shades and the shadows have a silky, soft formula that blends very well.

The Prescriptives In Bloom Blush Duo contains two shades of contrasting blush colors one of which is a deep rose shade and the other softer pink with touches of peach. You can easily use the shades separate but I think swirling your blush around in both creates a deeper shade of pink with a tiny hint of peach that's quite lovely all it's own.

The look I designed below was done by using the Prescriptives In Bloom Eye Color Duo in Petunia and the Prescriptives In Bloom Blush Duo in Fresh Pink.

Overall, I absolutely loved the cooler side of the Prescriptives In Bloom Collection and think it's well worth checking out. I can't think of better colors that are suitable for the Spring weather than these!

I'll try to get to a counter soon to see if I can pick up the warmer shades as I know some of you requested both a warm and a cool look so do keep your eyes on this space for an update soonish!

Prescriptives In Bloom is available now at www.prescriptives.com or at your local Prescriptives counter.
