Musings of the Day: Purchasing Power!

Ok people. Come on! Help your economy out here! Buy more makeup!

Jump ahead to find out what my next cosmetic purchase will be!

If I can find the bloody thing my next purchase will be Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Concealer!

But hello impossible to find! I've seen it in CVS but sadly ever single color was sold out! Grrrr! And I'm so not asking one of the brain dead employees if they have any more in stock because it might turn into an Easter Egg Hunt. Turns out you don't actually need a brain to work at CVS...go figure (no offense to the people with brains who work at CVS. No CVS employees were harmed in the making of this post).

Anyway, I seriously NEED this concealer! I know I'll be disappointed but I still wants it!

Click to find out more about Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Concealer.

How about you?

What's your next makeup purchase?

Spill it!

Hey, I've been reading your blog for quite a while now and I'm deciding to jump in lol. I really want the nars casino bronzer because I'm on a nars/make up forever kick now. and I want the smashbox face and body brush to go with it. aaaand I want a make up forever gloss. Forgot what it's called but it's a squeeze tube purple gloss. I'm a sucker for purple.

My next purchase isn't all that exciting, but I'm going to get the Nivea Kiss of Shine in pink. (I already have the natural one, and love it!) I don't usually do pinks, but I'm gonna give it a try. =)

I have definitely been helping out the economy.
In the last two days, I have purchased 13 pigment samples (I've never tried them before and I'm apprehensive about buying full jars when I already own so much makeup) and I caved to Hello Kitty, despite all my posturing about abstaining. The packaging was just too cheerful to avoid. I ordered the Too Dolly quad, Big Bow lipstick, TLC in Pink Fish and the same pink polish as you (also thinking about summer already!). Also three paint pots to join my lonely Moss Scape - Delft, Artifact and Indianwood. AND i'm contemplating getting some of those cream UD shadows you reviewed recently... eeek! I'm excited though! :D

Guerlain's Paradis Exotique collection for the eyeshadow quad and all three lipglosses.

Dior's new DiorSkin Nude powder and foundations (I've been shopping around for new base make-up). I also want to get the eyeshadow duo in Watery Look and possibly another Dior Addict lipstick since I don't have one of those but have heard good things.

Estee Lauder's Orchid collection for the powder and eyeshadow quad.

Benefit's Coralista

and possibly Too Faced's Flatbuki brush. I'm still debating on this.

After this, I promise to be good. Until summer anyway.

Crazy timing that I'd check if you'd replied just as you wrote it!

It's like bloody gold dust here in the UK! I saw it advertised on the Boots website, but their returns policy sucks (I need to be able to test everything since I'm impossibly pale) and didn't have a counter locally, so I hopped onto the Biotherm site only to be told that it's an in store exclusive!

Fast forwards a few months and my Boots gets a Biotherm counter! I get all excited and the lady tells me that they have it in every shade but 515, and that she'll order it in for me. Then she called me and said that they weren't selling it and that head office suggested I tried the website! I'm clearly now just running in circles.

Searched high and low for it on the internet with no luck, Boots website has since sold out (and has been for the last 2 weeks)... I should just give up but it makes me want it so much more! Ahaha.

LOL, essay!

Not sure at the moment, because it depends on what I will find on Ebay next. ;) Also I have just splurged on Tuesday, went into London (Selfridges and Harvey Nichols among other shops) and bought 3 items from RMK (the pink spring palette, pink and purple e/s duo and pink l/s), a single e/s from Guerlain (the brown shade), 2 illuminating powders and a lipgloss from New Id Cosmetics and the blue mineral palette from Sue Devitt (same as the purple Kilimanjaro one) - that's £200 already. ;)

I need to purchase two more MAC 109 brushes and my staple Clarins Primer, and that's going to be it for a while, unfortunately. My last major purchase was (amongst others) the MUFE Full Cover Concealers (love them, btw) and since then I've been branching out into mineral makeup, but with little luck. Eventually, I'd love to purchase Kanebo Sensai's liquid foundation, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. For now I'm making do with my Sally Hansen Naturals foundation.

I've actually been buying a great deal of makeup since this recession (no, lets just call it a depression) began, as well as before it, but I find that as the recession/depression wears on, I'm purchasing more drugstore/mineral/independent retailer cosmetics.

My next haul will probably be drugstore (darned budget anyway.) I want to try the Almay Pure Blends powder & foundation, and the Organic Wear sculpting powder thing, it looks so pretty. That shouldn't put too much of a dent in my budget, lol. Oh, and Sally Hansen by Carmindy cream blush!

It's a sad sign of my beauty addiction, but I'm more worried about Sephora than I am about myself. Hopefully Sephora makes it out of the economic downturn and we have many happy years together.

Yes, they're the best I've tried so far. A bit drying, but not so bad as my Kat Von D concealer. Speaking of which: has yours reached you yet? What do you make of it, so far?

Hey Muse!

It looks like it is, but looking at the US site it isn't easy to find! Browsing by category doesn't work, but going to 'MAKE UP' there's a link to it there. Crazy Biotherm!

That would be fantastic if you could, I'd be more than willing to send you some UK goodies in return!

OK, if this is a dupe, sorry...last post got eaten in outer space or something.

My husband works for Walgreens and he'd be happy to show you this item if you came into his store! I was just feeling up the two lighter shades the other day and look forward to hearing what you have to say about it. When you find the perfect CVS employee, that is.
Have faith, there must be one!

Personally, I think I might need to try some Lipstick Queen. I don't think she's in Wisconsin though, so what shade to choose? I even had a dream about them last night...

And I'd love some luscious blush. I've been pulling off my Jane Blushing Petal pretty well, but I want something ooh la la.

I've been buying a lot of cosmetics recently... I think I helps a lot in the economy... *grin* My list is way too long to be publish here. Yesterday, I accidentally drop my MAVALA mascara, only used twice & now it broke into 2 pieces! All I can say is my clumsy hands n poor quality container...I've lost count how many times I'd frop my Majolica Majorca mascara but still intact. Aside than stupid container, MAVALA mascara is decent n I love the brush. I might be repurchasing a new 1 for the brush.

Hi Muse! Okay, so I have a few things I am planning to purchase. I'm out of my Lancome CILS BOOSTER XL primer, so I'm planning to get that. And the MAC 239 brush since I don't own it, yet! And the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish from the Sugar Sweet collection when it comes out...and the Essence of Beauty blender brush that you recommended. And Laneige Strawberry Yogurt Peeling Gel! And I've been really wanting to try the Diorshow Iconic mascara, so I might have to pick up the limited edited set from Sephora. Whew that's a lot when I write it out :)
