Essence of Beauty Blender Brush Review

I was wandering around CVS a few days ago. I blame my aimless wandering on some sort of alien force that swayed me to enter the doors of a US drugstore because I'd honestly never set foot in a drugstore otherwise...wasn't me...I was possessed....had to be that.

Anyway!

I was wandering aimlessly and I came across the Essence of Beauty Blender Brush and promptly purchased it!

This isn't my first run in with Essence of Beauty makeup brushes and I sure do wish I'd just take the plunge already and purchase a few as they are damn good brushes for the price!

The Essence of Beauty Blender Brush is a pocket size wonder that works fantastic at buffing in mineral powder, adding a dash of blush to cheeks, or works fab at sweeping a thin layer of powder under the eyes for a quick touch up. It blends cheek color seamlessly onto my face and tucks nicely into my purse for quickie touch ups. I'm not partial to mineral foundation but this brush definitely makes application way easier and much nicer, possibly making a mineral foundation lover out of me as it blends flawlessly.

The bristles are super soft, the handle is nice and chubby so it fits nice and steady in my hand, and did I mention it's only $7.99 USD? Where can you get such a nice brush at that price?

Honestly, if you're looking for some seriously great brushes at a budget friendly price and not wanting to dish out for costly MAC or counter brushes check out the Essence of Beauty line up at CVS as it's really a great steal and a deal.

I've never really spent that much on brushes - do you think they really make a difference, Muse? I usually apply my tinted moisturiser/sheer foundation with my fingers but I was thinking about buying the MAC 187. I need your expert opinion!

hi youdee!

I've spent far too much on brushes :) I normally use fingers for my foundation too ;-) but eye makeup I go all out for beauty brushes...especially mac brushes as they do make a difference in how my eye makeup comes out...it's worth getting at least a blender brush from mac as it's a god sent imho :)

the 187 is fab but I don't use it for foundation hehe ;) It's a great brush for buffing foundation on or in my case I use it with MSF or fine shimmers!

:)

Hi there,
You have a beautiful and imformative blog. From browsing through your site, I figured you own a massive amount of makeup. I know makup expires or goes bad eventually. I am curious to know what you do with all your makeup since its a lot of money and you won't be able to finish everything you purchase.

Youdee: you can get the Sonia Kashuk Highlighting brush at Target that is a great dupe of the MAC 187 for less than $15! I love EOB brushes, great quality for the price!

hello evesterr

thanks very much, glad you enjoy my blog.

I own a good deal of makeup yes. Normally what I do with my makeup is wear it :) If it goes bad I just throw in the garbage.

I label items with the date of purchase and toss them after the time frame...if I'm not using something I swap it away on Makeup Alley or sell it on Ebay (if it's new).

Wow, and I was just looking for a decent blush brush :) Or this one shouldn't be used for applying blush, but rather should be used more for touch ups for pretty much everything? Sorry if you can't understand what I mean, I'm having trouble with translation ^^

I like Essence of Beauty brushes but recently I made a purchase from elf and picked up their Studio flat top brush. It's really good too. I was surprised. Another drugstore brand I'm really liking are ecotools. It's amazing how soft they are. Great post:)

That looks like a great brush ;)
It's funny, I always had MAC brushes but never appreciated my brushes until I started studying makeup and practicing tutorials last May. Then I added some Sonia Kashuk, ecoTools, and other taklon brushes, fiber optic brushes, etc to my collection. Now I wanna check this one out ;)

Hi Muse,

Thank you for the information. I've been lemming on a flat top buffing brush for a while now. Coastal Scents has some nice brushes but I don't like their shipping cost. Glad to know I can get one from the neighborhood drugstore for 8 bucks!

hey dd!

It is it is :) I've never purchased brushes outside of mac and basically anything that came with a kit or a sephora set someone brought me...I have a HUGE array of brushes but a majority of them go unused since I use my mac so often..but honestly I'd love to add more of these BoE brushes to my stash as they are really nice ;)

morning dao!

My pleasure :) Me either on CS. The shipping ends up becoming more than the item in some cases...I really wanted the shimmer palette but I'm too cheap to pay the shipping cost ;)

def check out cvs for this..it's really inexpensive :)

I bought it last night and used it today for my liquid foundation (in leiu of spending however much for a MAC 109). I really liked it for liquid foundation, it gave me some flawless looking skin. Thanks, Muse!
