The Demise of NP Set, Jemma Kid, and Pixi
A kind reader, Elena, pointed out last week NP Set, Jemma Kid, and Pixi had disappeared from the shelves and was clearance'd out at her local Target!
GASP!
Could this be true? Was the Muse's prediction of the demise of these lines at Target right?
I skipped my way to Target immediately to find out as I was very curious to see what was going on!
Super sleuth, the Muse, is on the case!
I'm unsure where Elena is located but it looks like the lines are all up and available at Target and regularly priced here in New York. I visited two Targets just to be sure but all remains perfectly safe and sound....so far.

The only thing I noticed that was slightly suspicious is the lit title header on the Pixi display was gone (at both Targets!).....mmmm could be me jumping to conclusions but is this a hint that they are taking the display down soon?

Who knows but I'm definately keeping my eyes peeled for new develops as I'm dead curious if the lines will make it or break as predicted by yours truly!

Hmm, I was at Target yesterday and saw the lines there at the full price....though if they do decide to clean house on the lines, I will go to Target and clear out the stuff of things I wanted to try but not pay full price for. :P
ditto! Both targets were full price :)
I'll be there too lol..I indulged in a few pieces but it was a bit too costly and didn't go back for more but hey half price I'm on it lol!
These items weren't very popular b/c of the price, so I could see how they might be getting slashed. If they are, you'll find me knee-deep in that clearance bin! =)

Target's on my list of things to do today. I'll check mine as well and report back, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. Waaay overpriced for Target!

I did notice at my Target that NO ONE was buying any of it....seriously, just walking by complaining about the price, lol!

Ditto! I've stopped by on a few occasions and listened to bitching and ranting about the prices. I indulged way back when it first appeared in August and the lines are nice but way too overpriced for a store like target!

I suspect the day will come, either sooner or later. Target was so naughty not to carry Iman Cosmetics anymore, that line was actually better and cheaper. The high end stuff are well, too highly priced! Like all of y'all, I'll be there digging when these stuff are all on sale :)
We have these lines in our local Target, which is not a metropolitan area. It's a smallish city in North AL. Anyway, the last time I was in there, everything was full price. However, I'll be glad to stalk to see if it does go to clearance...which, I would think, would be a small city before the metropolitan ones. Unless they are doing away with it all together? Seems way too soon to do that. Thanks for the update! Will report back if I see changes:)
That's very strange...I was just at my local Target (I'm in Seattle) on Friday and everything was full price. On the other hand, more than a few things were sold out and it didn't look like they were making much of an effort to restock them, so maybe they're just running down the inventory first?
I totally agree about the prices, tho. If I'm shopping for makeup at Target, I'm not paying Sephora prices!!

I was at a target last week and all three displays were up and everything at regular price. But as everyone has stated before me, if it were to go on clearance I would so be there!

I admit I did indulge when this came out but the prices make me wince. Some stuff is very nice but it's not what I am looking for when I head to Target. If I wanted Sephora or counter prices i'd have gone to those locations not Target :P

I agree I think if anything hits sale wise it would happen in a smaller city first prior to dwindling down to a bigger city!
It does seem soon but the prices are obscene for Target and with the economy going the way it is they may have realized no dice on these!

oh, dang.. I live in Canada, so I cant fly over to target to see if they are having a sale. When I first heard this is gonna come out, my heart did a little butterfly dance. The price tag, however, stopped my heart beating in a fast motion - kidding. They are overpirced for a drug department store like Target. I'll stay tuned.
If it goes on clearance I'll check some stuff out, but otherwise no.

I tested the products at the store (as they had testers at my store) and they just didn't seem to have the oompf of MAC, so not worth purchasing to me.

I have been picking up some hours at our local Target lately and noticed that, while these 3 lines are still up and well-signed, no one buys this stuff at all! In fact, I walk past this aisle at least 4 or 5 times a day, and never even see anyone looking at 'em.
Sigh.
They should have asked us bloggers, first, right? :)
I'll sniff around later this week when I'm back at work and see if I can find out some more info for you.

I saw them too (full price, duh...)Some of those eyeliners and eye shadow have really cool shades and all that...but seeing eyeshadow at $17 is such a turn off...come on, it's Target!

darn. I actually bought a pixi lip glow kit no. 2 not worth the price. it has this funky smell and it doesn't last long. But they have a nice range of sheer colors, good for work and very portable. I wouldn't mind hitting the clearance rack when they go on sale. whoohoo.

I hail from the fabulous state of California. I'm about an hour north of San Francisco, loving that the weather is cooling down. Anyway, I think they're still offering it online, but all the stores I've visited out here have said, buh-bye to it.
Sadly I waited it to go on super-clearance, and that was my bad, b/c now it's all gone... :-(

Unfortunately for me, I can't even get to see them things. How I wonder that I'm just living next door and yet we don't have as many things (cosmetic, brands)like in USA.
Oh well, but I've heard of Target, a bargain department. The prices aren't right, esp at this low point of economy. A single eyeshadow for 18.00 is steep. Considering that MAC is 17.00 on their website. I'm starting to think that lipstick indicator is somewhat misleading and confusing.
I guess I'm waiting the downfall of these three lines, does that make me bad? XP

It's true. I stocked up on NP SET's makeup, and all of it was on Clearance--I was able to get his lipgloss for only $3/each, and his blushes for about $5!!! I was amazed at how cheap everything was....however, I looked at the makeup section and the makeup display is still there for full price--my only guess as to why they were getting rid of some stuff is because NP Set's MU has no preservatives/parabens, so it's not suppose to last long on the shelves. They were probably trying to get rid of the old stuff, which is probably about 5 months old?? I love the MU so much, I'm glad they still have it at Target.

Stores like Target are large enough that they make deals with their vendors to take back everything they didn't move - so if the merchandise is expired (or about to expire), I'd think NP would have to eat it. But it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, either!
