Lifecella Eye Mask Review: A Little TLC for the Muse's Under Eyes!
Why hasn't the Asian rage of moisture sheet face and eye mask caught on in the US? It's so standard for an Asian girl in any Asian country (Japan, Korea, China, Etc...) to walk down to her local drugstore and pick up some moisture masks for a few dollars, take them home, and spoil herself with a cooling, refreshing, moisturizing mask!
We have nothing like this in the US.
We are a deprived and hungry nation full of rabid woman that want to indulge in a simple sheet moisture mask but are unable to get any, anywhere (aside from the occasional Asian drugstore or market).
It saddens me that we have an array of all the wrong products in drugstores right now. Nothing comes close to what you can locate in drugstores in any Asian country.
Ok, ok so maybe it was a bit dramatic to say we are deprived..maybe I should re-word and say we have a few sheet masks available but they are extremely high end and costly as hell. Sheet masks are available for mere pennies abroad and seriously I can't understand why it's never caught on here in the States! The same goes for Cleaning Oil! Knock, Knock, hello beauty world it's your wake up call calling! Get with the bloody program!
Anyway.
Now that I've ranted about our lack of good product I'll go on with my review and say for 523 yen I can get 5 sheets of of Lifecella Eye Masks. That's a deal and a half my friends.
I've used sheet eye masks before but I've always wanted to try the Lifecella ones and I'm happy to have gotten my hands on some that a lovely friend sent over from Japan recently.
These are pre-soaked sheets that are contoured perfectly to the eye fitting the complete under eye all the way up to the corner of the eye to reach any crows feet, fine lines, etc..you might be having in that area. I don't personally, thank god, have crows feet yet however I can appreciate the added moisture to this area.
These are dry already but they are heavily saturated with lotion when removed from the package!
My eyes are dry as I've been known to rant about in prior posts and Lifecella are soaked in a nice cooling, moisturizing lotion that feels delightfully refreshing my under eyes. I can feel my eyes sigh in relief when I put these on.
I normally leave them on an hour or until they dry up and afterwards I simply pat the beautiful moisture left over from each sheet onto my eyes. These are super soaked so you'll have plenty of cooling moisturize being sucked up.
The best part is these do a fab job of calming my puffy, tired eyes plus adding much needed moisture that my dry skin is hungry for. The masks or pads (whichever you prefer to call them) are large and as I mentioned they fit beautifully well under the eye extending outwards to cover the entire area.
I've used up an entire box this past week so I guess I'd best stock up on so more but honestly with the amount of eye masks and sheet masks available in Asia I might just go ahead and try different brand!

it's been a while :D
i just reviewed these recently. they didn't really really impress but they're not bad. Sasa.com has them for buy 4 get 1 free, $5 each, so $20 for 5, roughly the same as the japanese retail price! go stock up!

Oh man I bought a few of those (Chinese brand) when I went back to Hong Kong for a very good price but I've ran out! I love it but unfortunately at my local Chinatown, they're a bit pricey >_<
Hi Izzy, I love this as well! :) Hisamitsu makes wonderful masks! :)
This moisturises my eye area pretty well, but it does nothing at reducing dark circles.
If u want something to reduce dark circles, should try ZA Dark Circles Gone eye masks. This really helps lighten dark circles with Vitamin C extract. A warning about this: this masks is heavily loaded with essence so expect some dripping when taking it out. This is my HG stuff!! Lotsa asian girls must be agreeing as well cos this is often out-of-stock. It's really flying off the shelves. I normally stock up like 15 boxes(8pairs/box) during sale. I'll go crazy and go to different drugstores to get them when there is a sale. Cos each drugstores usually don't have many in stock :p It cost SGD$24.50/box. Sadly, ZA is available in S'pore, Taiwan, M'sia and a few other South East Asia countries. Funnily though it's under Shiseido, Japan doesn't have ZA. I heard that most Japanese girls stock up on ZA when they are here holidaying.
My second favourite eye masks is Clinique moisture surge eye masks. This is really hydrating.

whoa I obviously need these! Clinique here doesn't mask masks otherwise I'd be all over it but these ZA sound amazing! I NEED some :) Is ZA short for anything?!

well unfortunately i haven't found an under eye mask i like, so the lifecella will have to do for now (i use it regularly too, by the way).
BUT i did find a really good sheet mask from Kanebo - Kracie Moisture Mask (the reddish orange one, not the pinkish red), which is also $8 on Sasa.com for 5 pieces (and $15-20 else where!!!), so you might want to grab these too or ask your friend to cp. i will review them soon, but wow, i woke up this morning and was amazed how soft my skin was!

Interesting! I'll need those for sure than :) I've been using EH Moistfull Mask and the standard Kose Q10 ones.
Not many recs b/c I use so many different masks I can't settle on favorites however I do prefer Kose above any other brands when it comes to sheet masks that's for sure :)
